You guys really think the bomb is in that truck??!
They didn’t seem too alarmed when the guy came to a screeching brutal stop… I figured those things were fragile!
And yes the wedding is suppose to be around 3, they had talked about it in the first or second episode.
I think we already know the wedding is a bust…
That is an interesting point about the bomb going off “today.” If it’s not off by midnight, then I guess they’ll still have to scramble to find it. If they defuse it at 11:59:59pm…what do they do for the other eight hours?
One could also conclude that an interpretation of “today” is (if stated early one morning) “anytime between now and the beginning of the day tomorrow”.
No, she did not call Terry/Larry (which is it?); she went in and called the PI firm, but didn’t talk to her usual guy (the guy she had talked to on the phone in earlier hours), she talked to another guy, the one came to the house a little later, and who was kidnapped with her.
That’s why I was suspicous of him. How do we know he’s on the up-and-up?
Well I don’t think stopping the bomb from going off is going to be the end of the show. I always figured the bomb thing would just lead them to something more sinister. So I figure in the next few hours the bomb will be taken care of, but there’ll be another problem to deal with.
It said “American Delivery”.
I think the bomb is just the first plot arc. In the process of stopping it, they’re going to discover a massive government conspiracy or something, and things are going to get worse.
Remember last year, Jack was reunited with his family and helicoptered out of the compound long before the season was over. People were even saying that should have been the end of the series, because the story was essentially over. Then we learned about Victor Drazen, and a whole new plot thread kicked into high gear.
There are a LOT of surprises left this year. The bomb is probably just a start.
I don’t think nuclear weapons are as fragile as you do. I mean, they can handle being launched by rockets, so I think they can handle a bumpy ride in a van.
Speaking of vans, did anyone else notice the anonymous white vans as the sister and PI were leaving the house. Then, what do you know–they’re abducted!
How old is Kim supposed to be? For some reason, she seems much older in this season than the passage of time in the story from last season would allow.
Yeah – actually, that’s the first thing I noticed, in the background, as they were leaving the house. And my first thought was “Didn’t they SEE that white van?”
But then, when they were abducted, they were pulled into a black van.
And with the wedding having been planned for that day, it does actually make sense that there would be some vans and delivery vehicles in and out of the grounds – so that’s probably why the vans that were leaving didn’t raise any alarm bells for them.
I watched this again last night.
Yes, the bomb was in the tan van with the Arab-ish looking guys. They said in Arabic (or whatever it was, subtitled on the screen) something about getting the bomb delivered now and getting out of town. It was something like, “All we have to do is deliver the bomb.”
Yes, there have been delivery trucks at the Warner house all morning. The first few times we saw the house, they were bringing in chairs and tables, and setting them up, and huge sprays of flowers were being brought in, and there have been lots of people milling about. I think the wedding, or at least the reception was supposed to take place at the house.
There was a loud whistling sound right before the trouble on Jack’s plane, but no one ever said “Incoming!”
I guess it could have been a missile; does an engine blowing up in midair make a noise like that?
Oh, I forgot.
Kim is supposed to be about 18.
Hmmm – could have sworn I heard it – but not before the explosion. Right after (in the ensuing chaos). And I did watch it again (on tape) before using that tape to record another show. Didn’t pay real close attention to that point the second time, though.
I still have it on tape, but I’m about to tape Survivor over it. I’ll be watching it again on Monday at 11:00 pm, so I’ll listen again to see if anyone said “Incoming.”
I’m not entirely convinced it was a missile. I thought they had engine trouble. Who would be trying to shoot them down?
Consider however, that they may not have yet picked up the bomb that they need to deliver.
This could be a possibility. But personally, I think it’s in the truck. When they screeched to a halt with the tire blowout, the guy in the back was very careful to not open the back doors very wide, and made sure to shut and latch the back quickly when he got out. Seemed like a move intended to keep anybody from being able to see into the back of the truck.
Airplane engines don’t explode like that when they fail. They just stop working. Sometimes they catch on fire. Rarely, a fan blade lets loose and the thing shakes itself off its pylon or something. That was definitely an explosive - either one planted in the engine nacelle itself, or a missile. And the sound effect beforehand said, “Missile”.
