24: Season 4: Episode 15 (9:00pm - 10:00pm)

There was a hangar with multiple planes. The one we saw through the window may have been a T38, but he’s flying an F117.

Christ, I just found out what Marwan REALLY wants and I have to say this may be the point where 24 jumps the damned shark.

He wants to shoot AF1 down to get the codes from the nuclear football. Now, how the HELL do you insure that you shoot the plane JUST right so that it comes down in one piece, allowing you to get the nuclear football? And for Christ’s sake, isn’t this getting to be like an Energizer Bunny thing?

I’m sorry, but this may be the season where I get off the 24 train.

Re: RikWriter’s spoiler

That does sound pretty silly. It’s hard enough to find the black box after a plane crash. Like the crash site wouldn’t be swarming with people or anything. Then again, they found the briefcase with the override right away.

Question about RikWriter’s spoiler:

What is a nuclear football?

What is a nuclear football?
It is a suitcase authentication system to launch a nuclear attack. There is a military person who constantly follows the President around to make sure it is available to the President in the event of a pre-emptive nuclear strike on the US
Thanks
Wow, and we’re worried about command and control issues in Pakistan. Apparently one decapitating attack and that’s it. What a country!.

Also somewhat interesting to note was the crappy stock footage that they had to use of the F-117 being towed out. Previously the show’s been able to make use real life military hardware…most notably the strafing run of the LA River a season (or two?, or three?) ago, because they’ve almost always shown the military saving the day. This time not so much. Obviously they don’t like where this storyline is going…

Well, that’s just the thing, ain’t it?
I mean it’s hard enough to suspend my disbelief that this hardcore terrorist guy could worm his way high enough into a defense contractor to get access to this freaking nuclear power planet override, but NOW they want me to believe he could come up with this plan to grab the nuclear launch codes and that it would MEAN a damned thing? The SECOND they found out the codes would be grabbed, they would change the damned things.

AGGGHHH! I hate it when shit like this happens in shows I love.

Sorry to nitpick here (and a few days late, too), but I didn’t recall that Jane Saunders (the daughter from last season) was actually in LA, so I checked the episode capsules at
the official site, specifically the 7 AM - 8 AM one, and I was right – she was attending school at Santa Barbara, which is, what, like 100 miles from LA?
[/incredible minor nitpick I’m ashamed of making]

Au contraire, this is actually the first episode where I said, “Damn, she’s not that bad looking.” You’re right, she IS too skinny, and she does have the long face, but she’s got other, um, assets I somehow managed to miss until this recent episode
