No, I think they are correct about somewhere on the east coast being the target. Remember that in this one, Marwan told a henchman to bump up the launch (about an hour, I think), since they couldn’t block CTU satellite links or something. Henchman argued that if they did it earlier than planned, there wouldn’t be as many casualties, because people wouldn’t have made it to work, or some such thing.
The 3-4 AM time is west coast time. The rocket launch went off just at the end, right at 4 AM. (7 AM Eastern). If they bumped it up an hour, then the original plan would have been to launch it at 8 AM, as east coast people were arriving to work.
My vote’s on NYC.
My second choice is Washington D.C.
Good grief, so is death the only way to get out of working at CTU? Audrey sure looked composed less than an hour after her husband’s death. Maybe that’s what the red shirts are actually doing. They just want a vacation from CTU.
But hey, maybe death won’t even excuse anyone by next season. Zombie agents will soon be manning the computers and following Jack in the field. They’ve got to be running low on disposable red shirted agents by now.
I’m really curious as to how Jack is planning on stopping that missile. Perhaps flying a jet up alongside of it and yelling “Crash into an uninhabited area! CRASH INTO AN UNINHABITED AREA!!”
In related news, I’ve taken to using Jack’s strategic use of yelling in my day-to-day life. Me to Mr. Greywolf: “Please put your socks in the clothes hamper. PLEASE PUT YOUR SOCKS IN THE CLOTHES HAMPER!!” It doesn’t seem to work as well for me as it does for Jack though. Darn it.
Actually, I just read that Marwan, in what may be one of the worst moves the writers have made in what has been an absolutely awful season, escapes AGAIN.
I thought the Chinese Embassy security guy looked a lot like this guy from the movie “The Ladykillers”. I didn’t see his “24” credit in his imdb.com page however so I could be wrong.
Under the guest spot listings for 24, IMDB does not yet have the credit for the chinese security guy yet for this episode. So that would mean that it’s not cross-linked to the actor’s page yet (whoever the actor is. So you could be right).
Shit. I gotta tell you guys, if the season plays out the way it’s beginning to look as if it will, I won’t be watching next season.
Spoilers keep pointing to the season ending with Tony dead and Jack a prisoner of the Chinese.
I’m sure Surnow thinks that will all be very dramatic and everything, but for me it would be the final straw.
Jack can cut another inside the palm and foot, but I notice we gain sixteen more that way!
Thanks again. You are a credit to your country and Finding Things Out the Jack Bauer Way.
I saw that coming and said to my wife “watch this, they’re going to pull some BS image sharpening crap to increase its resolution, it doesn’t work”. But what they actually did seemed more plausable, they used filters instead which you can do to any image to somewhat improve it (though not that drastically generally).
As someone who spends nearly half of his professional time on video surveillance…words can not describe how much this stuff pisses me off.
“No, sir, I’m sorry, but while your $250 camera can see the entire parking lot, no, you’re not going to be able to zoom in on the face of the guy 300 feet away and count the moles on his face. If you’re lucky, at that distance you might be able to figure out if they’re black or white.”
