24: Season 4: Episodes 23-24 (5:00am - 7:00am)

[pre-machine gun] C.H.L.O.E. (Cyber Hacker Lacking Overt Empathy)

vs

[post-machine gun] K.L.O.E.Y. (Killer L33T Offing Enemies of Yankees)

They should have though, I fucking hate Tampa.

[sub]Apologies to any Tampa dopers.[/sub]

I’m not sure the Chinese will believe that a baggie full of radioactive dust is Jack. Now, if the nuke HAD gone off it might be a different story.

Was Mason the last complex character we had on 24?

-Joe

I was thinking of the neighbors she shot and blew up in the car. I guess they could put her in witness protection to protect her from being prosecuted by the state of California.

Would CTU want her to be known about by other terrorist groups so that they could make deals with others, or would she be loading her 9mm and have an accident?

My bad…I meant Ryan Chappelle. I always mix up the dead guys.

Now THAT was a good moment. Have we seen anything that good this season?

I thought it was very powerful.

“Sorry we let you down, Ryan.” [Bang!]

-Joe

Nothing remotely like it that I’m aware of. It’s the only time I can recall (someone please correct me if I’m wrong) where 24 went to commercial showing the clock but without the ticking noise. Exceedingly somber and appropriate.

Chloe. M4. 'Nuff said.

I believe they did the same thing when George Mason was reduced to his component atoms.

They do it when someone important dies. From what I can think of there’s Teri Bauer, George Mason, Ryan Chappelle, and, maybe, Nina Meyers.

Anyone?

-Joe

CTU is going to tell the Chinese that Jack Bauer was killed by a mountain lion while trying to escape. Apparently Jack got caught in a trap and his genetic makeup made him unable to open it.

The more I think about how ridiculous this season has been the more my head hurts.

And when Mandy gave Palmer the Handshake O’ Doom at the end of Season 2.

Buchanan: Jack’s dead…aaaand we may need to borrow Pauls body for a little while

Jack Bauer: Hey! Marwan was right! It is really easy to escape from CTU!

So who here plans to watch next season ( beginning January 2006!)? My husband wanted to stop in the middle of this season, and I’m not sure if I can bring myself to bother with it next year. As Mr. Bawlmer said, can you think of even one TV show that started out great, declined to sucking as hard as this season did, then got better?

Season 1 of 24.

Doesn’t count. They lost their way for a few episodes then got back on track. Losing their way for a couple of years is entirely different.

Season 5:

The Chinese get peeved when their consul to Mexico City is killed by the head of Mexican CTU, named Jose Bauero. They are stumped.

Well that was my first season of 24 and the whole shooting down the nuke was just silly. They built that all up and suddenly it was over like that?! I was thinking, at least, they waste all their missles before the last possible one shoots it down… or something silly like that. Would have been better than that non-climax.

Other posters who have seen the show for longer have said it is like the writers just weren’t trying… yeah… seems like that.

So does Erin Driscoll come back in the next day and say, “Well, buried my daughter. How’s it going with everybody else? Anything new happen while I was out?”

“Chloe, I thought I fired you. What are you doing here? And where’s that other woman I had tortured? I need her back so I can promote her!”

There’s a good chance I won’t be watching next season. It’s just gotten to be too ridiculous for me, and after four season I no longer care.
