But, can she set up a perimeter?
My theory on Aaron is that Mike Novick took him aside for a heart-to-heart and told him to leave his cell phone so they couldn’t be tracked.
Yeah, right. Like that ever does any good.
From the apparently infinite pool of Bad-Guys-For-Hire that all villains on 24 have access to.
Let’s talk about the thugs in the black helicopters for a moment, shall we? Jack is chatting to the red shirt by the plane when the helicopters show up. Now as far as the guys in the copters know, Jack is tied to a post somewhere and all they have to do is show up and ask for him. But they instantly start shooting at some random jamoke on the ground. Wouldn’t it have been a better plan to land, walk up, say “Hi, we’re here to pick up Jack Bauer, and by the way, hand us the tape in your pocket or you’re a dead man.”?
Where does Jack get that bag of tricks, anyways? Last week he was breaking into a bank and pulled out a handy alarm disabling device. Which was in there because, well, you never know when you’ll be breaking into a bank. I’m surprised that Jack can actually run around shooting people with that thing around his neck – it must weigh tons from all the random gadgets he’s carrying around just in case.
Anyone kind of skeptical about the deception they pulled on Chloe to get Audrey’s location? Let’s see – it’s 12:30 in the morning, the terrorists have long been stopped and they’re holding a meeting. Meanwhile, Chloe has apparently been assigned some filing or scut work. Let’s think about this…in the past day, Chloe has been chased by bad guys, gassed, watched half her work force die, fired a couple of times, and they assign her filing at midnight? Doesn’t anyone at CTU sleep?
I really like this theory because it would mean that Aaron is still alive and that he and Mike would be working together to do something about this mess! Novick definitely knows something is not right in the Western White House! And he’s not the kind of guy to sit around letting things get worse. Or is he. . . .?
Last week, I wondered aloud where Novick was… we hadn’t seen him in quite a few hours. At least this week he told Heller “I’ve been working on other things.” I’m sure he has more important things to do than monitor a terrorist crisis, after all.
Yeah, something like that. The writers need an ace or two in the hole to pull out when the situation looks hopeless. Aaron is the perfect hero to hold in reserve.
And it’s a good think that CTU security is never informed of who is being kept in detention. Otherwise, they’d be able to monitor the cameras that must be all over the place to see the two detainees that escaped this day alone.
It’s also a good thing that Heller’s security guys put Jack and Audrey in a room and then only guarded the outside. After all, Jack is known to be a terrible escape artist…
You left off used, broke up with, and fired, her boytoy.
You know, I’m beginning to think there will be no scene at all of Kim, in the shower, being menaced by a bobcat. And they call this the best 24 season ever…
So, how come Jack can shoot a tanker truck full of aviation fuel with a pistol and it blows up, but the helicopter dudes can’t shoot a jet full of aviation fuel with machine guns and have it explode? Doesn’t seem quite fair.
Probably because the jet is slightly smaller than the broad side of the barn that they also can’t hit with those automatic weapons.
It’s actually pretty funny – the terrorists in 24 are, at one and the same time, masters of organization, planning, stealth, conspiracy, treachery, and assassination, but don’t seem to have spent even five minutes at the local range practicing their weapon skills.
Of course, most of the * competent * bad guys worked at CTU so apparently went through the same training that Jack went through in how to be hard to kill.
I like this idea. In fact, they may have decided to let Martha arrive at the meeting alone, thinking that something happened to Aaron. Clearly Aaron knows about Logan, and Mike suspects. If they talked, then they both know the info that Aaron got from Jack.
If this is the case, then perhaps Aaron suspects that Martha will be in danger if she is snooping around, and they let her arrive alone to see if anybody else is on to her, following her, etc. Keeping surveillance in order to protect her if needed?
If Aaron really WAS grabbed, then who will be coming to his rescue? I prefer the idea that he is operating Jack-Bauer-style now, and will be the one coming to the rescue when needed – possibly for Martha, or for Mike, or maybe even for the Vice Prez.
Actually, the bad guys didn’t know that Jack was tied up. Remember, Henderson got the location from Logan, after Karen and Wormtongue pulled the trick on Chloe to get her to make that phone call. So all that Henderson knew was the location – the Van Nuys airport, private hangar, or whatever. He didn’t know the situation (that Heller had “detained” Jack and Audrey).
So I presume the chopper team’s orders were to land with guns blazing, kill everybody, and find the recording on the bodies. Heller’s guys would have been just as much their enemies as Jack was.
Did the bad guys even know that Heller had landed there?
I know! And we didn’t even get to see her run today…
I doubt it. I’m prettty sure that Henderson got the call from Logan with the location before Heller called Logan to confront him. Although I don’t remember if Logan called Henderson back to tell him about Heller (but before the strike team reached the airport). If it wasn’t explicit in the show, I presume it still could have happened when we were at another scene – Logan giving that info to Henderson before the actual strike (that Heller was confronting him).
So it’s possible Henderson knew about Heller’s presence by the time he arrived at the airport – although either way, they wouldn’t have known that Jack and Audrey were tied up. I’m sure it didn’t matter to Henderson’s plans – just kill everybody and anybody present, and get the recording.
First she’s gonna have to reassign a satellite to get an infrared reading on the area to make sure that no one else is already there getting a drink of water.
Worst. news. ever. From interview with Evan Katz.
Will we see more of Kim?
“No.”
He better mean just this season.
I was waiting to see Wayne at Casa de Buchanan or at least an exchange like this:
Chloe: ‘Isn’t Mr. Palmer here as well?’
Buchanan: ‘Yeah - he’s out back, in the hot tub w a Michie Ultra. Long day, ya know?’
Chloe (to herself): ‘whateveeeeeeeeer.’
No way Aaron is dead. I will be bummed if it turns out to be the case.
I saw the guy who plays Logan on ‘Cold Pizza’ this morning - three little earring thingies in the left ear - kudos to whoever saw the earring holes on HD earlier in the season. What little I saw had me thinking he’s as dorky in person as he was playing Incompetent Presidential Guy.
As far as I can remember, Heller heard the recording, gave Jack the you don’t know what you’re doing speech, tied him up, then called Logan. So Logan and Henderson knew that Heller had landed, heard the recording, was on the way to Logan, and that he wouldn’t be stupid enough to have the recording with him.
Logan said he would delay Heller until Henderson got his hands on the recording, after which Heller would have bupkis. Being that Henderson was part of the assault team, they knew who was there and who wasn’t, and who most likely had the recording.
And you consider that bad news??!
