24: Season 5: Episodes 11-12 (5:00pm - 7:00pm)

Jack, to the bad guy: “TELL ME what you know! Or I’ll make you marry Edgar!!!”

Well, my guess is that’s why they’ve toned the threat level down a little this season. Seasons 3 and 4 were each trying to escalate the “threat” to more and more potential deaths (virus in season 3. 104 nuclear plants melting down in season 4) – heading into tougher and less realistic story lines.

I heard that there are some new writers on staff this season, and it appears that while it’s still a dangerous threat (nerve gas), the scope of the threat is more limited and they are not trying to overreach like last season. The terrorists are IN L.A. at the moment, so it doesn’t look like they are just going to be able to kill off half the U.S. with this stuff. However, it’s still a serious enough threat in L.A., if they can find some crowded places.

Throughout season 4, I’d been thinking that they need to stop trying to “outdo” the threat level of the previous season – keep the scopes of the “evil plots” smaller, and they will be more realistic.

Actually, in the end, it was all devised by Aaron as a way to nail the First Lady.

I’ve only seen this year and the first 4 episodes of season 1. (I do have episodes 5-12 on reserve and will watch them this weekend)

Who is the guy who was in the hospital with the patch on his face and got up and left? Was he in this season? I don’t remember him from this season.

I loved it too when Jack just shot that woman in the knee, a regular civilian. Then he qualifies it by explaining it was above the knee and she can still walk.

That was Tony, who was hit in the car blast in episode 1 of this season.

He’s also in all the other seasons as well.

Then Jack hears a rustling sound in the woods. Shadowy figures running about. All of a sudden…NI! NI!

For a moment.

Then it would be “We are the Knights who say…oh god, please stop shooting!”

Well I finally got to watch the episode last night. But let me tell you a little story, Gangster OCotpus is at work yesterdaytalking with co-worker #1 when co-worker #2 comes by and says “Edgar!?” Gangster Octopus looks quizzically. “Edgar died!”

"WHA-!! “I HAVEN"T SEEN IT, YET!!”

Good times.

Maybe he even setup Marwan attacking AF1 last season so that Logan would become Prez and select him as the VP. Hehe.

FINALLY a terrorist goal I can get behind.

<rimshot!>

BTW, *****Spoilers for next week,

I was right about who’s gonna die next week. It’s Lynn.

I finally got around to watching 24 last night, except my &*#& DVR dropped the last half hour of the second show! It stopped just as the new analyst/victim was heading into the back room to see what was up. Anyway, the thread’s got me caught up.

Here’s my theory on what’s going on: This is an elaborate scheme to stage a military coup inside the United States. The VP is the ringleader, and the nerve gas threat is his casus belli for imposing martial law - martial law that will never be lifted.

This would require a large number of people inside the U.S. government, and maybe inside CTU… And maybe even a Secretary of Defense named Heller.

As for why Henderson might think this is good for the country… Think about who the current president is. How could it be worse? (-:

I agree somewhat. It would be incredibly consistant with what we’ve seen(except maybe the Heller part. He seemed like a good guy in Season 4)

I’ve been thinking that if Logan grows some balls(thanks to his wife) and decides to stand up to the VP, the VP will 25th amendment him, or just blackmail him into resigning his post under the threat that if he doesn’t, the Russian President and the American people will find out about Logan helping the terrorists ambush the Russian Motorcade. Logan will have no choice but to back down, even if he had any balls to oppose it. I suspect Mike will have a critical role in this.

Sam’s Theory plays nicely into this.
