I’m not sure he was in a location with a shower, but he shaved and put on clean clothes, at least. According to the episode guide on the fox site, it was eleven minutes from the point we saw Jack ready to get cleaned up in front of the sink, to the point where he was shaven and dressed and in the car, about to talk to Wayne Palmer on the phone. Of course, we don’t know how far the car was at that point – it was in transit.
But if you want speedy transit, check this out. The Episode Guide for the second hour shows Jack breaking into the old beater with the nice cell phone with GPS at 7:03 AM. After his conversation with the Prez, he drives off from that spot at 7:07 AM. He arrives at Assad’s safe house at 7:10 AM.
So, he got from Fyed’s torture location to Assad’s house in 3 minutes. Who knew that they were apparently terrorist neighbors? Buchanan and Curtis could have just picked him up when they were in the area, had they but known!
Actually, I don’t specifically know what you’re talking about – I haven’t actually watched it yet. Just knew the basic show description and who was cast in it. Is it worth checking out?
Curtis went from picking up Jack at the airport to leading an assault on a residential home in…a very short time. Not sure the minutes, but you’d think he’d not want to be picking up Jack at the airport if you have to go and blow up a home in about 30 minutes.
Why is there always a guy close to the president that has to talk him into doing the wrong thing? He acts eerily reminiscent of Mike Novick.
My husband and I popped our 24 cherry last night and I’ve got to say that it was the shortest 2 hours of our lives! We loved it and wondered what we waited so long for. One question though–is it always that gory? All of the neck biting, knee slicing, shoulder stabbing, etc was pretty graphic.
Oooh I hate that guy. When President Palmer’s sister called and he said, “Mr. President…”, I said “Who’s he to tell the fucking PRESIDENT he can’t take a call from his own sister who says it’s urgent??”
I just read that ABC is going to show the remaining “Nine” episodes. Sorry no cite, it was a side note in an article about “Lost” which was linked from Drudge, but now it’s gone. I too was ambivilent about the show but my fiance liked it, I only watched becuiase I got hooked and started actually caring about what happened.
Anyway Back to 24
My $.02
Good episode, can’t wait for tonight.
I really don’t see why so many of you think Chloe is hot. That sourpuss face and attitude, I couln’t come home to that every night.
The new employee at CTU is hot, though. Not be spoil anything but don’t be surprised to hear about a threesome with her, the new girl on The Office, and me.
Seemed to be a lot of political correctness showing up, making sure to not imply that all Muslims are terrorists. Maybe Fox has been getting heat about that. If hope they ignore that stuff, Jack cannot afford to get soft.
I believe they aired 6 or 7 in the fall (because I was taping them – just hadn’t gotten around to watching yet). And the last I’d heard was that the show was pulled from the current lineups, but not officially cancelled yet (unless there’s new news on that). Over on Brilliant But Cancelled, they still have it listed as in a Coma, but not “R.I.P.” yet.
I’ll also take this moment to note that the premiere of “The Nine” was probably at least partly responsible for the sudden drop in already meager ratings of the other Wed at 10 PM show I was getting into in the fall – “Kidnapped”. Of course, NBC screwed that one from the start with a crappy time slot and poor handling after a few weeks. I watched the rest of that show’s run on the “online only” showing – and would love to see somebody else pick it up. :::sigh:::
Interestingly, Wayne Palmer was the “advisor of questionable ethics” back in season 3 – when he was Chief of Staff for David Palmer.
So, will we see Aaron Pierce still working security around the Prez? I hope he’ll be back.
And I still want to know what finally happened to Ensign Ro, dammit… I guess I’ll have to assume she died of injuries, because Mike Novick was never held accountable for his role in those proceedings.
Perhaps next season we’ll see Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) guest starring as a feminist terrorist leader. Maybe the N.O.W. gets fed up with just holding protests and rallies, and they join forces with PETA and start bombing gentlemen’s clubs and abattoirs.
There’s your problem right there. You had to get through 3 Eps to get to Larry.
Fayed has to be the dumbest fuck of a terrorist since – well, season five, I guess.
Consider this – The only thing in the know multiverse capable of stopping the inevitable cancer of terrorism is Jackula, right? And Jack is safely cloistered away in a prison some 10,000 miles away, right? Terrorize away, my A-rab friend, terrorize away. But no, this dumb maroon insists on Jack being extradited and brought to him personally. Alive. Did he really think that Jack wasn’t going to kick his ass?
That’s like Superman demanding that he be brought a truckload of Kryptonite before swinging into action. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Yes, I know it’s a plot device. Without the actions of said idjit terrorist, there would have been no Jack, and hence, no season 6. But when the writing starts off this illogically, one has to doubt that the writers are going to be any better when they’re winging it by the 5th hour.
Jack killed Fayed’s brother in some operation in Lebanon that took place in 1999 according to what was said in Hour 1. It’s one of those things that Jack has done that we haven’t seen.
Sort of like that mysterious operation in the Balkans that was alluded to in Season 1. The one where Jack went to Kosovo and killed everyone who had a non authentic sounding Serbian accent and looked like Dennis Hopper.
