Okay, it’s a thread about teasing. For a bj0rn thread, I’m pretty impressed. There’s some actual content, it’s kind of related to the hate speech/ignore list intro (i.e., don’t pick on other people), and he almost seems upset (in some bizarre, Icelandic kinda way) about Coke not wanting to give money to the anti-teasing film.
Of course, it is still a rather boring rant. Definite improvement, though. Keep up the hard work, you’ll get it eventually!
im more upset about the búnaðarbankinn, they specifically replied to the producers of the documentary that their policy was not related to teasing in any way, yet they gladly support the cause as soon as its spokesperson is someone “famous”…
THAT makes me sick…
bj0rn - …
I am so ignoring Bj0rn…
It would help if you made a lick of sense. But that appears to be too much to hope for.
Who did what to the who now?
You know, I’ve sat here for the past few minutes trying to think of something sarcastic and funny to add (I know, I don’t have a prayer), but this time I have no idea what you’re talking about. This may be the most senseless senslessness ever posted to this board! Somehow, I think that this puts me at odds with Coca-Cola, but I have no idea how or why and I don’t see what it has to do with… well, with anything.
why would you want to do that?
trust me, its not…
so why exacly did you post a reply in this thread?
my guess is that you wanted to “help”. i could be wrong of course…but it seems to me that you really WANTED to sumbit a reply.
even though it was a completely pointless post, i just want to say thanks…better luck next time.
bj0rn - …
Why? There’s a benefit to the corporation (or the búnaðarbankinn ) by supporting a the cause of someone famous (although I’m still not sure how famous someone with a name like mr.john could be, but then, I never understood the fame of “The artist who used to be known as Prince but then wasn’t but now is again”, so what do I know?) as opposed to supporting a Public Service Announcment style film made on a lark by drunken frat-boys that 12 people in the entire universe will see. NO-ONE listens to Public Service Films, unless they were made in the 1950s and have “camp” (unintentional humor) value.
So why does someone spending their money in a way that benefits them “make you sick”?
Fenris
Hey **cornflakes[b/], If you think that was senseless, do a broad search of bj0rn’s posts. He brings senselessness to a whole new level of nonsenseness.
uhmm…sorry, that first quote should have been:
and my reply:
why would you want to do that…
bj0rn - bloody clipboard…
C’mon, folks. It is not that difficult.
bj0rn is simply lamenting the fact that the same people who will not bother to provide support for a cause when they are approached by a (presumably little known) movie producer will suddenly leap forward with cash for the same cause when approached by a celebrity.
OK. I think many of us recognize that such things happen and that it is not very fair. (So? Where is the “fairness” clause on your birth certificate?)
I agree that reading his posts can be likened to reading Finnegan’s Wake (if Joyce had been drunk when he wrote it), but this one was easier to follow than most.
It is a somewhat banal little rant, but it is no worse than many that are here at the moment.
you know I was being humorous then with my ignoring comment.
I don’t know who the guy IS, really.
This thread makes my head hurt…
What a long strange thread it’s been.
This is going to be my response to all telemarketers. A true classic.
Amen! Even his response to my post made no sense.
You can communicate with it?
Ok. Will you tell it that a company like Coca cola has the responsibility to choose where it uses its charity dollars so that they do the most good?
Perhaps they thought the teasing halfway house would be better than the movie since the movie only raises awareness while the house actually helps individuals.
Whÿ nøt trï å høllïdåy ïn Ïcelånd thïs yeår?
What’s búnaðarbankinn (the agriculture bank) being approached for funding for? Unless the teasing relates to hair and is considered a crop amongst flaxen-haired Icelandics. [Sorry, bj0rn, I know you hate puns.]
Fair point bj0rn. (Gulp)
Small vocabulary point: I think in English the behaviour to which you refer is known as bullying rather than the much milder and usually harmless teasing. In Australia, it is also known by the evocative term bastardisation.
