What would you like to see that season? I’d like to find out what 10.5 (the Doctor/Donna clone) has been doing. I’d also like to see an argument between him and/or 10 vs. Eleven. The best parts of the other multi-Doctor episodes were when Two and Three argued, in my opinion.
I’m really, really hoping they can convince David Tennant to guest. He might if Russell T Davies helps with the writing.
Christopher Eccleston is probably a hopeless cause. Last I heard he still is carrying a grudge against the show.
Maybe some of the older actors will guest. It’s really hard to know. David Tennant and Georgia Moffett had a baby together. Shouldn’t be hard to get her dad Peter Davison back for a guest role.
He’s a huge fanboy himself – he’d do it whoever was writing.
Apparently not. The most recent comments I saw from him about the programme were very positive, and he seems pleased he did it, and proud of the work he did. It seems to have been the way members of the crew were treated, and the behaviour of some of the production staff, that he was unhappy with.
He does seem an unlikely returnee, though.
Tom, David, Colin, Sylvester and Paul have all said they would be involved if asked, but as of a few months ago, none of them has had any contact from the show.
Whatever the BBC have planned, they’re keeping it very close to their chests. All we know so far is that there’s going to be a drama about the creation of the programme, which I’m looking forward to.
Would someone like to expand on Eccelstons’ gripes? The only things I ever heard were positive.
I would like the Doctors’ daughter to come back and be a bridesmaid at the Doctors and Rivers wedding. Make it a two-parter so there can be enough wedding stuff and actiony stuff. And as a bonus we get to find out the Doctors name as he says, “I Tony Elvis Madonna Joffrey Gareth Frankensternium Harold Purple Sunshine Victor Bacon Cheese Biscuit the 547th do take you River as my Bride.”
I don’t really care about a bunch of Doctors meeting although I wouldn’t mind if they did do that.
I’ll probably be happy no matter what they do.
Even if she’s not a bridesmaid, I’d like the Doctor to find out Jenny survived.
I think they should do a Scooby Doo-like ‘hallway chase’ scene, using every single actor, actress, monster, robot, etc. they can find from the entire 50 year history of the show, all in about 90 seconds.
OK, not really, but it would be cool as a DVD extra
They can’t reveal the Doctor’s name - the show has built itself on the basis of not knowing. While I don’t think the show would crash around our ears if it were revealed, I think it can only ever be interpreted as jumping the shark. Nothing is gained by it, and the mystery is part of the allure.
Keep RTD a million miles away from Who. I appreciate his efforts in reviving the show but he rapidly became the George Lucas of Who - bloody awful storytelling albeit good at making cool general ideas. But Moffat’s are better.
Naturally we’d expect many previous Doctors to appear and I would hope they find the money to do some clever graphical trickery to restore some of the older ones to youth (a la Jeff Bridges in Tron Legacy).
Similarly I think having a single episode, or even a two-parter, with all the Doctors in would be a train-wreck. Up to eleven big stars on TV, each one rightfully expecting equal limelight with the others? All the fans have their favourite and would expect their own to be given pre-eminence. It could only ever be sloppy writing too.
I’d rather they span it over the whole season - each episode the Eleventh Doctor encounters one of his past incarnations in an adventure, probably with a story arc requiring their co-operation each time. And then a final two-parter in which they assemble (with more time free for plot rather than backstory), in which they fight all the classic baddies in the mother of all battles.
Perhaps restore the Time Lords - they’ve been gone long enough!
