Right. My hope is that may be the last draw - after all GOP Congresspeople feared for their lives as well. A clear example of what fanning the flames of Trumpism will lead too.

Completely agree. The only thing that should happen after this that when the joint session reconvenes, there are no objections, and the whole thing is wrapped up in 30 minutes. Anyone objecting should be asked if they support the terrorist mob.

Probably not. But the Senators and House members who were just using Trumpism (as opposed to true believers) may realize just what they’ve done.

I have been as critical of Dems making outlandish claims about what Trump and Pence and McConnell will do. 95% of the time their claims come to nothing and they don’t have the backbone to say they were wrong and just come up with another outlandish claim. I say that so you know where I am coming from when people say “Trump will do this.” or “Trump will do that.” I take it as the hyperbolic BS it usually is.
That being said, although I don’t think he will do this, if Trump shows up to encourage the rebels or worst yet leads them into the Capitol I would not be surprised.
Wanna bet that Trump is savoring every moment of this? With Pence abandoning him and deciding to abide by the Constitution, a violent insurrection is now Trump’s next best hope for staying in power. All-out banana republic stuff.

Depends on how you define this. Trump won’t be on any more ballots after this. But I bet not a single one of his supporters will start voting D because of this.
Yes and no. The Joint Session is in recess so the count is still going on. The count will continue when they come back from recess. When and where that will be we have no clue.
The best we can hope for is that some of them just slink off . . .
