Not reading the previous 500 responses and I’m sure this has already been said, but where are the rubber bullets? The tear gas? The riot squad? The nameless federal agencies?
Why were there so few capitol police there when this has been the obvious outcome for a couple months now? Why is the media not using the words coup, sedition, terrorism in the chirons?
I’m so fucking disgusted and not just with the fascist Trumpists. The measured reporting and commentary from the media and Democrats for the last 30 days are just as culpable. If you don’t state the obvious you’re participating in the cover-up.

The Pentagon has issued a curious statement in the name of Chris Miller, the acting secretary of defense, in which he says that he and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had spoken with Pence, Pelosi, McConnell, Schumer and Hoyer about the situation at the Capitol – a list that notably does not include Trump. “We have fully activated the D.C. National Guard to assist federal and local law enforcement as they work to peacefully address the situation,” Miller said. “We are prepared to provide additional support as necessary and appropriate as requested by local authorities. Our people are sworn to defend the constitution and our democratic form of government and they will act accordingly.”
