6 January 2021; A Day worth a Thread

You’re so completely wrong. They didn’t stop Congress – yet – but they “inspired” millions of similar idiots to do the same any time an election goes the way they don’t want it to. And next time they might break in with assault weapons.

Twitter has a message saying not only is this message of election fraud disputed, but that it can’t be replied to or retweeted due to threats of violence. Is that new?

And a dead woman. Damage to the capitol. Interrupting a session of congress. Having the National Guard mobilized. Nothing to see here.

Crossposted from the Pit thread, which I had mistaken for this one:

I just received an alert on my phone: Northern Virginia is under curfew until 6 in the morning.

The tweet:

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
“These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!”

Them being stupid and petulant doesn’t make them not dangerous or not terrorists.

At least one dead. Bombs, plural, have been placed in government buildings. The GOP Congressmen conspired with them to orchestrate this.

You’re part of the problem.

Fine. Put them in jail. Punish them for whatever law you think they broke. Who cares what building they entered. It’s just a building. Our democracy is not a building. It’s the people. The people who will not be swayed by some misguided insurection.

Calling for riot police would only make things worse.

At least because so many of these idiots don’t wear masks it will be super easy to identify them later.

I can almost imagine them offering a deal: give up the challenges and accept your man lost, and we don’t go after anyone.

And the Trumplicans would refuse.

It’s new as of today but it’s not the first message they’ve used it on.

I was on the much more laid back campus at UCLA, and even there they herded us all over campus and arrest dozens.

I agree with your screed completely.

What the fuck?

By the hands of the police

Before and after, pictured:

CNN reporting that the woman who was shot inside the Capitol building (by police, I think) has died.

You’re making them the victims? Seriously? Traitor.

What name do you guys think this will be given? “1/6” is too bland, but I’m not sure what short and pithy phrase we’ll be referring to this event by in a month or two.

Please enjoy some biting humor on this dark day.

It’s 15 minutes past curfew. In Portland, the police were gassing protestors and busting heads by now.

No, it’s not just a building. A others have pointed out, today was a massive security breach. Congresspeople and their staffers had no protocol for mobs entering the building, so every computer was accessible. One MAGAt with a thumb drive could cause billions in security issues.
