The CNN tracker has it in the D’s, so it looks like you’re correct:
I’m pretty sure I read that while she can pack on the Hill, it is definitely prohibited in the chamber.
I’m listening to the Senate. Toomey (R-PA), is coming down strong on the anti-Trump side on this. So far, it has been much more dignified than the House, it appears.
She’s like the bizarro AOC. I’m happy if the media ignores her.
So AZ is the first objection to have to be voted on now. Is there any idea or estimate as to how long it should take for each state objection to be voted down before the next state can be moved on to?
EDIT: that CNN tracker app I linked to says “…will force both the House and Senate to withdraw for debate in each chamber, which will be capped at a maximum of two hours”
She has publicly said that sees herself as the right-wing AOC.
So are we going to have to sit through this for every objection? Are they all just going to get up and say, “Ibid,” and be done with it?
I repeat … the fact that this is even happening is ridiculous.
What’s going on in the streets? I’m watching MSNBC and they’re only covering the debates, except for a mini-window showing people just milling around, “marching” (or “meandering”) on the Capitol, no commentary.
Objections are often made so that both sides can make political statements. Hopefully this is no different and there will be no more objections after this one.
Breaking news:
Popcorn shortages reported in Moscow and Beijing.
She got so loud and obnoxious even Kim Guilfoyle was going “Cool it down, woman.”
When Missouri (Hawley) and Texas (Cruz) come up, I really want Toomey to object on the grounds that those election results have not been subject to any scrutiny comparable to Pennsylvania’s ¶ so who knows if they are correct. He’s retiring and in the minority so he is undoubtedly out of fuck’s to give. And if some House member supports him, even better.
yeah I saw the tweet above but can’t find it elsewhere. Maybe the evacuations are just a precaution
“Ditto” rather than id., I should think.
I thought certain Repubs were prepared to object to each of the swing states. At any rate, apparently the debate is capped at two hours per objection. So it should be a very long day but not, say, a week-long thing.
Yeah - I’d appreciate any ideas as to where to get the best info.
Re: the streets, NBC has a reporter out there. Capitol Police appear to have lost control of the crowd, which has made its way up the steps.
The Barabarians are at the gates!
MSNBC has flipped, and is showing the debate in a mini-window and the Capitol steps are getting the coverage. There’s a crowd on the steps (they’ve “breached” the steps) and standing on balconies, waving flags.
