She was shot trying to smash the doors into the House chambers.
Oh, I have no doubt. But it’s an example of twisted Trumpist logic that is completely at odds with what was shown on TV.
They showed most of the video. It looks like she got shot climbing through the already smashed window of the barricaded door.
They showed a bit of the shooting on cnn. The people storming the house did not expect them to fire at them. They were ready to jump through the broken out windows, and then they realized that guns were firing at them.
Plus inside the Capitol complex buildings, only LEA and the Members themselves may carry firearms, regardless of your carry authorization in your state of origin.
There’s footage of the circumstances of the shooting that they just showed on CNN. Quite honestly, the surprise is not that she was shot. The rest of the mob that were smashing the doors repeatedly trying to break into the chamber should be grateful that they are still alive. With the chamber not fully evacuated, it would have been perfectly reasonable to take down the lot of them.
Yes, I just saw that, and the video went to freeze-frame. But earlier, Anderson Cooper played the whole thing, video and sound, with a warning to viewers as to what they were going to see, and they might not like it. The woman gets shot, she falls backwards, the rioters realize that security is serious and retreat from the doors, and officers move in, and attend to the woman.
Do you mean they’re not allowed but he had a gun anyway or do you mean that he did not have a gun?

Seems challenge supporters who felt robbed of their chance to speak in other states are using the 2 hour time, including Marjorie QAnon Greene lying about counting machine “evidence” on the floor, and misrepresenting the PA suits as being fraud suits.

Well, they started this counting at 1:00 PM EST, and now it’s after 1:00 AM EST. Over 12 hours. And they’re only up to Pennsylvania. Admittedly, they did have to break for a while, but seriously–it’s a foregone conclusion that Biden/Harris will win, so what does any objector hope to achieve at this point?

There is no reason. It looks like the house will go through much of the 2 hour debate thing, then about an hour to an hour and a half for the vote. Then they get back together and go through the rest of the states.
I have seen the video of her being shot.
She seemed to be very much not doing anything beyond being with a group who had entered the capitol through a broken window. No one else was shot (which is why I, personally and with no evidence beyond that video, think it was an accidental discharge and I 100% get I could be very wrong).
When we decry police violence we can’t only restrict it to people we don’t agree with.
That said, if it was an accidental discharge, then it was a tragic accident. Yeah, she should not have been there and maybe she was a nutjob (I don’t know but given the company she kept not a reach to think). Her death is still tragic. We should never have gotten here.
The Texas GOP has removed one of their officers for celebrating the sedition today. If it were the Arizona GOP, they would probably be promoting them.
Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see anyone post that newly elected West Virginia state rep Derrick Evans filmed himself storming the Capitol with the rest of the thugs, and posted it to his Facebook, but later took it down after perhaps realizing that wasn’t the smartest move he made all day.
Hopefully he gets locked up for a long time.
