If we wanna talk about Christina Hendricks’ ridiculously glorious person, that’s cool, but that outfit is a travesty. I’m pretty sure someone wore it to my prom in 1987.
I literally gasped – and then burst out laughing – at the Mel Gibson intro. A definite “oh no you di’nt” moment.
Meryl Streep is always cool…“I want to change my name to T-Bone”.
Did anybody notice: Christoph Waltz gave a shout-out to Quentin Tarantino, which was met with a very faint golf clap. Does everybody in Hollywood hate QT? Doesn’t bode well for the Oscars.
I have to say that although she gives of a stink of a scank Lindsay looked pretty hot at an after party. Do I need to shower now?
Haven’t insulted anyone.
mmm-hmm.
Yes, that’s just all that you said.
There’s only “action” in it in the last half-hour(ish) when the natives and sympathizers are trying to defend their home. Most of the rest of the time is getting to know the wonder, awe and beauty of Pandora, learning a new culture and exploring a new world. Some people find it boring, most people find it exhilarating (which is exactly why it’s making so much money, because they want to re-visit Pandora). Right-wingers want to nuke it from orbit.
**(500) Days of Summer **is an excellent movie, one of my favorites from last year. I liked The Hangover, it was very funny, but I was rooting for 500.
I was stunned when The Hangover won. I found it mildly amusing, but nothing special. Not even particularly interesting.
But I was mostly just sad that Inglorious Basterds didn’t win. That film was sublime, and definitely QT’s best work. I’m glad Christopher Waltz won, he deserved it. But I really hope that QT doesn’t get snubbed at the Oscars, too.
I agree, forget Avatar, The Hangover is the true upset! I can literally say I did not laugh once–I smirked, I think, but no actual laughing. It may be the unfunniest funny movie I’ve ever seen.
I Love You, Man was miles better.
He was having a blast. He was twittering through the ceremony. I don’t think he had a huge expectation of winning, he was just enjoying himself. I like him a lot.
Aw, I should have checked him out. A lot of people were twittering during the ceremony. Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls was there with Neil Gaiman (who I guess was there for Coraline which was up for Animated film) and she was twittering and posting pictures of the table and the ladies room and the telepromter. She was pretty bored, not having a good time. She’d never seen the Golden Globes before and has only seen 4 movies in the last 2 years. She seems happy that she was Fugged.
Actually I was thinking about a certain physical attribute that’s shown off very well by that outfit. What can I say, I think like a guy:).
