7 Jan 2021 and beyond - the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol

I agree that he’s putting himself in danger. Maybe he caught wind that he was going to be outed? Just speculating.

He is displaying actual patriotism, in sharp contrast to the insurrectionists. He will also lure Trumpists into explicitly becoming anti-cop. Maybe not change anyone’s opinion, but increases the moral contrast. For democracy to survive, we need as many people as possible who are willing to selflessly it.

They’re already there. Anyone still defending the actions of Babbitt or the other insurrectionists has made that very clear indeed.

Indeed. Put the sober account of a genuine LEO against the lunatic ravings of the insurrectionists, and let’s see what new excuses GOP lawmakers find to not investigate the insurrection.

It’s not like his name is a big secret.

The right wants to paint a narrative that his name is being withheld, but it’s actually common knowledge for anyone who knows how to do an internet search.

Boy, Conservapedia living up to it’s well known ‘’‘standard’‘’,

{redacted} was identified as the U.S. Capitol Police gunman who executed senior airman Ashli Babbitt …
… The Capitol Police assaulted a peaceful assembly of men, women, children, and the elderly with flash bang grenades.
{Picture caption} {Redacted}, the killer cop who shot and killed an unarmed woman.

Well, I didn’t say anything about the quality of my cite, only that the information is out there for those who are interested. The right wants to paint a picture that this information is being withheld. That is demonstratively false. The fact that “MSM” (MainStream Media) doesn’t constantly repeat it is only a reflection of what the consumers of MSM want to see.

Or that of basic human decency. YMMV.

Same Same.

No, not at all.

YMMV. I don’t know.

Clearly.

It would be a lot more clear if you would say what you mean.

That leaves out The Right.

What I mean is that this statement is bullshit. The fact that a few right wing lunatic news sources have dug up the name is because they are fucking psychopaths.

Never underestimate your opponent.

Call your opponents lower than pond scum, if that helps.
They are, in fact, humans.
If “right wing lunatic” sources can dig up the name, then so can rational, freedom-loving Americans.
Personally, I think that Lt. Bryd acted fully within his authority and was justified in the actions he took. To pretend he deserves more protection than, say, Derek Chauvin, is advocating a double standard. Chauvin abused his authority in order to kill another citizen. Byrd did not.

Hmm, if only I could think of a reason why one deserves protection that the other does not…

Maybe the reason that the MSM doesn’t constantly repeat it is because the name of the officer has not been officially released.

Agree with @bobot. This is a bullshit statement.

Obviously, equal protection doesn’t mean much to you.

And, you really need to explain what “officially released” means.
