At his hearing today, Tim Gionet aka “Baked Alaska” showed his keen understanding of the legal system and told the judge he’d plead guilty even though he is innocent. The judge was having none of that.
Judge: Why do you wish to plead guilty?
Gionet: I wanted to go to trial, but the prosecutor said if I [went] to trial, they would put a felony on me, so I think this is probably the better route. I believe I’m innocent…
Judge: Well fine, pick a trial date.
Last month he tweeted, “these mother fuckers really don’t understand the court system.” True indeed. And as he prophetically tweeted last week, he now finds himself “balls deep in legal shit.” The judge gave him 60 days to consider his plea.
He really should lay off the weed.
Dumb people from around the world have been calling me. They tug at my sleeve, over the phone, and they say: Sir, we can’t believe how dumb Trump supporters are.
Do they have tears in their eyes?
They have for at least two weeks now, easy.
So they’ve subpoenaed McCarthy. It will take him about 5 seconds to phone his boss in Maralargo and tell the committee to go pound sand, then have the legal fights last until he becomes (vomit) Speaker.
Ok, this one isn’t really January 6th related ……… the underlying incident happened before the election, but it involves consequences stemming from the Stop The Steal movement, so I’m going to drop it here.
Back before the election, some idiots in Texas, including one idiot with lots of money, came up with an election fraud theory. Apparently, undocumented immigrant children were filling out ballots by the truckload. The immigrant children were required because their fingerprints weren’t “in the system”
*Of course, non-immigrant children, as well most adults typically don’t have their fingerprints in the system, either, but these people were idiots”
As they “investigated” this theory, a Hispanic HVAC contractor came into their sights. I’m really not sure why, except he was Hispanic, owned a van, and was observed transferring boxes from his van to a shed on his property, and vice versa.
This culminated in the “investigator” terrorizing the contractor by running his truck off the road and holding him at gunpoint, under the pretense of making a citizens arrest. His truck, and the shed on his property, contained air conditioning equipment. Not a ballot anywhere.
The “investigator” was arrested back in December, the case has not gone to trial yet.
The very good news is that the Republican donor that funded the bogus investigation was criminally charged with two felonies a couple of weeks ago. A US attorney, Ryan Patrick ( son of Texas Lt Governor Dan Patrick) recorded a conversation with Holtze. Holtze had called Patrick seeking the help of federal marshals-the request was denied- and during the conversation he revealed the plan for the citizens arrest.
Now he’s been charged with unlawful restraint and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. I’m really glad to see them finally charge one of the political instigators.
AIUI, he did some HVAC work at an apartment building where one of the county elections workers was living. No doubt they saw him bring some boxes out to his van. And then to cap it off, he stopped at a post office on the way home. Definitely suspicious activity.
This “investigator” is a former cop. And apparently an Olympic level jumper-to-conclusions detective.
In that case, I’m shocked that he did not simply shoot the Hispanic HVAC contractor, because he was “afraid for his life” when the contractor brandished a box at him.
Doj has requested the transcripts from Congress for the 1/6 committee.
Things are moving along.
Spose I should plop this here, if it hasn’t already been posted elsewhere…

Huh. Is the 1/6 panel afraid of leaks or something. I would think it good for Garland to have some of this data.
I don’t think that’s the issue. The DOJ will soon have everything they want from the Committee.
This is an effort to publicly demonstrate that the Committee is not working in concert with DOJ, which would be inappropriate. They are trying to show that no tail is wagging any dog – whichever way that might appear.
The Committee is so close to conducting their public hearings. They want the nation’s attention riveted on that – not what DOJ is doing. But by DOJ making their request (which they knew would be made public), the DOJ signals that they are, indeed, working their way up the ladder to the top. Good stuff all around.
Thanks Aspenglow.
Sure hope you’re right!
committee requests info from laudermilk regarding tours before jan 6th. this is big bombshell.
It’s beginning to come to light exactly how involved practically the entire Republican caucus in Congress were involved in this traitorous effort.
Also, Bill Barr, as ever, covering his own ass:
Little by little, the House select committee examining the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection attempt is moving toward a more sweeping account of those fateful events that indicts not just Donald Trump but large swaths of the GOP as well…
I must admit that the GOP denial is a well-crafted bit of weasel wording:
According to a GOP aide, there was nothing to the Democrats’ allegation: “There were no tours, no large groups, no one with MAGA hats on.”
I daresay that there were no tours (just targeted casing of specific entry routes), no large groups (only a limited number of carefully selected insurrectionist leaders), and no one with MAGA hats on (during the plain-clothes covert recon mission).
John Stockton, a person I used to admire before he went full on anti-vax, is now writing a letter of support for a 1/6 terrorist.
