It’s also worth noting that Paul Huck, Jr. is married to one of the judges on the Eleventh Circuit. The court where the ruling will be appealed, assuming that’s the route DOJ takes.
Geez Louise…
And yet another one has moved from the “fuck around” to the “find out” phase.
Why so long between verdict and sentencing? Although I suppose as long as he’s sitting in jail awaiting sentencing, it really doesn’t matter.
It’s normal in the federal criminal system that after conviction/guilty plea the Pretrial Services department will research the defendant’s life, work history, criminal past; speak to the defendant him/herself, family, friends, associates; develop an understanding of the person; apply the Sentencing Guidelines to come up with a numerical score that determines the recommended range of time to be served. Then there’ll be a hearing before the trial judge where prosecution and defense can make their arguments for an appropriate sentence, and the judge will study all this and decide its length, as well as any fines/restitution if appropriate and post-release conditions of Probation supervision.
Seriously, what is it with all the Kyles?

Although I suppose there are worse names to have than “Kyle”…
Just normal fluctuation of name popularity. Anyone who works with kids(or any specific age group) will see this constantly.
And in the Senate:
oath keepers trial starts today.
from cnn:
The Justice Department’s opening statement featured messages and other communications among the defendants that prosecutors say show the Oath Keepers’ unlawful plotting to disrupt Congress’ certification of President Joe Biden’s electoral win. As the prosecutors sought to use the words of the defendants against them, they also played video capturing the Oath Keepers’ actions in the Capitol and displayed maps and charts to help the jury follow along.
Does eyepatch guy talk like I hope he does? Yarr!
I imagine him sounding exactly like Alex Jones.
You know how he lost his eye, right?
He dropped his gun and shot his eye out.
Official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle, right?
LOL, I wondered how long it would take.
I don’t post often, but I mean it was just sitting there for the taking for more than an hour…
It was, it was!! I’m glad you picked it up!!
Me, too, but now put it back down again!
Before you…
Shoot your eye out…
(hey, someone had to do it)
