Grrrr. Prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.
“Bigo” to the Big House; gift link
the hearing has begun for the sentencing for the oath keepers. the judge has quite a lot of lead way in the sentencing.
Prosecutors are pushing for 25 years for leader Stewart Rhodes, although I suspect it won’t be that onerous. One hopes it will be sufficient to send a message to likeminded assholes, anyway.
(Also: “leeway”)
i knew that was off, auto correct is sometimes incorrect. thank you!
18 years for rhodes.
Fuckin A
And Rhodes helps to make any appeal difficult for his lawyers with his comments at the sentencing hearing:
Well, Stewart, if the overcharging situation were true, a jury sure could have found you not guilty on such charges, like they did for the Malheur defendants. So I guess…
How soon before the commercials start:
“It’s your choice: a vote for (before the convention, DeSantis; after the convention, Biden) is a vote to keep Rhodes behind bars for almost two decades, but a vote for Trump is a vote to release him on January 21, 2025”
He could lessen that division immediately by supporting Biden and the Democrats.
Seen on another message board:
“While his head goon was getting 18 years, Dear Leader played 18 holes.”
No, it wont, Mr Rhoads. Quit trying to scare people - the only people who feel like this government is illegitimate would think that anyway, regardless of your conviction. More people should now be respecting the rule of law in this country. Have a nice stay in prison, a-hole.
And Kelly Meggs, head of the Florida Oathkeepers, got 16 years.
So long, Kelly Meggs, if that’s your real name. Enjoy your government funded housing and feeding. Oh, hey, fuck off while you’re at it. Biden is the President because he beat Trump. You are going to prison because you have shit for brains!
Saudi backed golf.
DeSantis has said that he thinks the Justice Department and FBI are biased and that he will consider pardons on day one.
Jesus. It’s like the Joker and the Riddler are running in a primary to see who can run to be the mayor of Gotham City.
Trump and Desantis are fucking Mob Bosses.
One of my former employers drove from here in CA to be there on 1/6 for the Capitol attack. He decided not to stay after hearing Trump give his speech and left town. It’s weird how my employer believed what the criminals thought of the election. He told me he decided since he had a nice family, small business and life here, he didn’t want to risk any of that over an election. It’s struck me how there’s a mental divide between he and the others who were there who decided to assault. I know him my old employer well enough to see a world of difference between he and a criminal like Rhodes.
Since my old employer and I share neighborhood background but are opposites politically, I know for sure there’s still community there. I hope no one would believe that anything’s irrecovably split. Maybe it’s a small uhmm example of other people’s relationships in our country.
But I’ve always been way too optimistic about recovery efforts from any bad news story. You’ll have to pardon me. I was raised by my grandfather who thought the Great Depression could’ve been worse. He’d say “You know it brought Minneapolis sometimes a little closer together.” He talked to me a lot about how God-awful events can bring people close. I know it doesn’t really work this way though.
