7 Jan 2021 and beyond - the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol

Nordean is from the same city I live in.

Glad he’s not gonna be around for a while.

Are these Proud Assholes also going to be hit with civil suits from Capitol Police and survivors? I certainly hope so even though the trials would get them out of their prison cells for a while.

Lawyer rule #2- "never sue them that aint got no money. "

I wonder if someone will take a shot at garnishing funding from GriftSomeRubes, or whatever crowdfunding source they’re trying to lawyers out of. There would be some poetry in taking money funneled from their deranged supporters to help their victims.

Isn’t there some kind of “son of sam” law that would prevent the Proud Asshole Boys from profiting from their crimes?

Pretty sure that doesn’t apply to legal defense funds.

Proud Boy Biggs now waiting for Godot

I hope he followed his remark with, “I’d also like a pony.”

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if one day Biggs woke up to the sound of them putting Donnie in the cell beside him?

“Boy, am I glad to see you here! Hey, wait a minute, why are you crying? And holy shit, in orange…?

“…hey, Mister Trump…uh…Mister President…uh…about that pardon?..”

These people are so far gone from reality they’ll beleive anything, facts be damned.

Wouldn’t it be more like “Hey convict 8675309 . . . where’s our pardons?”

Yeah, but acknowledging Trump was convicted of something would be giving an inch.

In the same interview mentioned above he complains about the food.

Call Jenny.

Should he be re-elected (which I doubt), I doubt that he will issue any pardons to Proud Boys, or similar. We already know that he regards those who die on the battlefield or are taken as POWs as “losers.” We further know that loyalty with him is a one way street: you are loyal to Trump, but he is not loyal to you. So here’s these guys, who couldn’t even manage an insurrection to reinstate him as President. Losers? Yes. Loyalty owed by Trump? None.

I think they’re going to be disappointed, should he be re-elected.

Well, I sure would be.

Jury selection happening in navarro’s contempt of congress today.

22 year sentence for Proud Boy Enrique Tarrio.

From the judge during sentencing:

What happened that day damaged an important American custom that helps support the rule of law and the Constitution. That day broke our previously unbroken tradition of peacefully transferring power. That previously unbroken tradition is broken now. And it’s going to take time and effort to fix it.

It’s kind of hard to put into words how important that peaceful transfer of power is. Our country was founded as an experiment in self-government by the people. But it cannot endure if the way we elect our leaders is threatened by force and violence.

22 years! Longest so far, and for someone who was not there.

I know one person who will not be comforted by Tarrio’s sentence. Even if not present, being an instigator can come with a pretty significant punishment.
