WASHINGTON — A former Donald Trump political appointee at the State Department who tried to storm the Capitol and assaulted law enforcement officers on Jan. 6, 2021, was sentenced to 70 months in prison on Friday.
Federico Klein was arrested in March 2021 and convicted of eight felonies as well as misdemeanor offenses by U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, also a Trump appointee, in July 2023 following a bench trial.

Well, Pence was reportedly angry back then, being fresh from the turmoil. Some Republicans seem actually distraught, and Murkowski said she might leave Trump’s party? Eric Swalwell sued the Trumps, Rudy, and some others for the insurrection. No idea how that turned out. And from my research. the first person was arrested on Jan 6th, which is pretty quick work.

One has to wonder whether some of the folks swept up in the dragnet, having seen the consequences and come to their senses, have bought their way out of trouble by turning in others.
I assume the prosecutors are routinely showing photos of unidentified rioters to those they
indict and offering to shave months off their sentences in exchange for successful identifications.
