7 Jan 2021 and beyond - the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol

Make sure that they gave you a magnetized mat, apparently:

…Peters - the Trump disciple convicted for interfering in the 2020 Colorado election - quickly switched gears, informing the judge that she wasn’t a good match for prison because she needs a [checks notes] special mattress to sleep on.
“First of all, I need a magnetic mattress. I’ve been on that since 1995,” she said, explaining that without magnets, it’s impossible for her to sleep…

:joy: ‘Your Honour, I just wouldn’t be a good fit for the prison position; so I’ll have to decline.’

This isn’t fair to elections workers. We’ve had posters on these boards who have discussed the training they get when they volunteer to be election workers, and it includes a hefty dose of “our job is to run a fair election”.

Outside scrutineers, by definition, are partisan, and that’s fine, but they want a particular outcome.

The more eyes watching the voting and counting, the better.

“Fine, Here are your shackles and a rake. Now clean up that forest”

As an election judge I say, bring your observers on. All you’ll see in my county’s precincts is everyday citizens working hard to fairly apply Maryland election laws.

“Your honor, let me check my calendar…no, sorry, prison doesn’t work for me this year…nor next year. You’re just gonna have to make me a better offer.”

Heh. Reminds me of this famous TNY cartoon.

Aren’t most prison mattresses held in place with metal? I think she’s gonna be fine ya’ll!

Whew, I’d been so worried.

But are they ferrous-magnetic? She doesn’t want any of that woke aluminium stuff.

There’s always a catch.

Save Ferrous!

Oh, he’s very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he’s a righteous dude.

And now this:

Great news.

I saw on NBC that, on account of today’s certification, the police are adding extra fencing. I don’t know anything about security but find it reassuring that they’re reinforcing perimeter among other things.

That’s all well and good, but to me the more distressing thing is that the fuckers who perpetrated the attack on the Capitol may be set free:

I don’t think there’s any “may” about it. But it is one of those happy paradoxes where Donnie is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. :slightly_smiling_face:

Just remember - these guys value law and order!

trump has changed his tune on this - he was saying only the non-violent offenders would be pardoned. Quite a few were only convicted of some sort of trespass, and if that is who gets a pardon, it wont bother me much.

HA! Typical: backtracking. I can see him denying he ever said anything about pardoning anyone ever, if it turns out that’s what suits him best at the moment.
