7 Jan 2021 and beyond - the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol

I was wondering when Dominion was going to sue Fox. They sued Guiliani, Powell, and MyPillowGuy but there’s no way they’d get $1B+ from them. They might from Fox.

And yet he had the golden opportunity to pardon each and every one of them, but he didn’t…

Their checks weren’t deserving (i.e. big) enough.

In his defense they should have known he wouldn’t have their backs. Any reasonable person could see that! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

He always screwed over and stiffed the little people even as he fawns over them as huggable patriots.

So Mulvaney calls Trump a liar and resigned his post to protest the Trump encouragement of insurrection. And yet:

(Bolding mine)

Is this correct? He may be addressed as President Trump but at the moment surely only President Biden is the President, right?

Stolen election, remember?

I don’t really care about the ‘President’ thing, but Providence, God, Allah, Chtulu, whoever, please grant us a world where Donald Trump enters the race 3 days before Super Tuesday, 2024.

“The President” in that context is clearly Trump. We’ve drifted far from the days when Harry Truman was glad to go back to being plain ol’ “Mr. Truman” after he left office. Government titles tend to stick for life now in most American social and political settings.

I was coming to point this out.

This just shows how low Republicans have sunk.

“Well sure he lied about the insurrection he fomented, and claimed that the folks who attacked and murdered police were actually hugging and kissing them. But hey, he’s a Republican, so I am duty bound to support and vote for the lying, traitorous scum.”

I still think PJ O’Rourke was one of the most principled Republicans when he explained he was voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016:

That should apply with even greater force now that it’s clear what Trump is capable of doing to democracy.

Trump describes the violent assault upon police officers by rioters as “hugging and kissing”.

Sure puts all those sexual assault cases against him in a new light…

Indeed it does. I reckon all those women claiming he used some sort of force might have been telling the truth. Imagine that!

You do realize that that Trump will win in 2024, don’t you?
You should probably hope that he chooses not to run.

But I doubt it. He is deeply in debt and needs to raise money. He’ll probably do that by running a travelling crusade like evangelistic preachers do–filling stadiums with tens of thousands of faithful believers. But Trump will charge $10 entry fees, plus getting some of them to write huge checks -. all for the good cause of his crusade to save America.

His main goal of course will just be to pocket the money. But after a hundred big revival-style rallies, the momentum to register on the ballot will be unavoidable.
And yes, if he runs, he will win.

Your certainty is very amusing! What other things in the future that could be affected by hundreds or thousands of events for which we have no foreknowledge are you certain of?

Atomic fusion power will be viable in 20 years.
The Cubs will win the World Series.
I will win the lottery.
and Trump will get re-elected in 2024.

One out of four ain’t bad, hey?

You won the lottery?

If Trump enters 3 days before Super Tuesday:

  1. The entire opposition gets renergized.
  2. He won’t even be on the ballot in most of those states, so he’ll have wasted his chance there
  3. Republican leadership will be in absolute chaos
  4. Down ballot funding will dry up as…
  5. Trump drains RNC donations into his own pocket

I don’t see any chance in hell of Trump winning in 2024 if he jumps in after the primary season started. To point #2 he will have missed entry deadlines in a lot of states voting after Super Tuesday as well.

And therefor Trump will win.

He can stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, and then grab some pussy, etc, etc.
This guy is bulletproof with his voters.

Don’t get complacent, folks. Biden only won by barely 1% in a couple places. It’s going to take a huge amount of work,-- and a lot of luck—, for the Democrats to keep the White House in 2024.
