7 Jan 2021 and beyond - the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol

I find this insulting to the intelligence of those who actually rode to school on the short bus. Retarded doesn’t equal Kool-Aide drinking dim witted traitor, not by a long shot. This lawyer is just as bad as the people he is representing.

He likely started out sane, but sometimes military service, especially in combat changes a man. He could be suffering from PTSD or something else.

I can not find if he ever served in combat. From what little I have found, no.

No, not at all. Bengazi was a complete witchhunt and shit show.

Surprisingly so, especially the

Mind you, that "short bus’ reference is demeaning- to those who rode one.

Like I said: it was a signal. Here’s the confirmation signal:

There’s plenty of fucking idiots in the military, just as there are in any job, and they often started out that way.

AKA, they are waiting to hear what the orders are from Trump. He is the leader of the Traitor Party now.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska told CNN Tuesday that former President Donald Trump should testify for the soon to be created House January 6 Commission because he is a “key individual.”

Will they do the party trick where Trump testifies while Putin drinks vodka?

Sen. Murkowski (R) apparently didn’t get the memo from her party leader that there shouldn’t be any such commission. I wonder if she (and 9 of her colleagues) would be willing to break ranks.

# Mitch McConnell Opposes Commission To Investigate Capitol Riot… Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Wednesday he opposes a bipartisan plan to create a 9/11-style commission to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, dealing a setback to the proposal’s chances in the U.S. Senate.

Just a day ago, McConnell, R-Ky., had signaled the party was open to the commission to investigate the Jan. 6 riot by supporters of former President Donald Trump but added he wanted “to read the fine print.” That openness was short-lived.

“After careful consideration, I’ve made a decision to oppose the House Democrats’ slanted and unbalanced proposal for another commission to study the events of Jan. 6,” he said Wednesday on the Senate floor.

In other news, Hermann Göring is quoted as saying “After careful consideration, I’ve made a decision to oppose the Allies slanted and unbalanced proposal for the Nuremberg trials to study the events of World war 2, and the war crimes thereof.”

Did we invite any Nazis to be judges during the Nuremberg trials?

We invited them to participate in the trials, but not as judges.

:scream:   :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Not surprisingly, Ron Johnson (R) has come out against the commission so it looks like the other Senate Republicans are falling in line. As for those who might break rank, there are–as you said–Murkowski, Collins, and Romney. After that, I can’t think of anyone else besides maybe Toomey. I’m also not taking into account the possibility Manchin or some other “centrist” Senate Democrat might defect. To summarize, it doesn’t look good.

Passed the house with 35ish republicans. On to the senate.

That’s a good sign. Or as good as could be hoped for. Only 10 Rs in the House voted for impeachment, IIRC. If we get 3 times the number that voted for impeachment in the senate, that’s more than enough to clear the filibuster.

That is what I was thinking. Hopefully the 7 that voted for impeachment would find 3 friends to vote with them.

If the letter from the Capitol Police doesn’t make a difference, well…oh never mind, it probably won’t.

They would if Trump could even be persuaed to appear. Instead they’re going to pull the Garland trick, where McConnell, Trump and Putin Stooge, refuses to allow a commision to even exist.

Rep. McGovern (D-MA) said that if the commission fails in the Senate, the next move will be creation of a select committee. What does that mean and how would it be different?

A brief (and basic) overview of select committee and some other options in this WaPo Article
