A Because I Know How Much My Life Fascinates Y'all MMP

Dishes are washed. First load of the day is in the washer. Last night’s jeans are out of the dryer and in my closet. **FCD **and daughter left 20 minutes ago, and just came back 2 minutes ago - they forgot the directions and FCD’s phone. They’re on their way now.

I’ve got at least 3 more loads to wash. I’ll probably run the vacuum and sweep the kitchen floor. And knit. I’d like to get my kid’s afghan done, so I’ll spend much of today working on it. Unless I do something else.

SIL will be leaving for work shortly, so I’ll have the house to myself for a few hours. Yay!

I’m up and the coffee is brewing. In about 30 minutes, I’ll hop into the shower and get cleaned up. We need to take our son’s car in for emissions testing and and transfer title on it today.

I’m making pot roast in the slow cooker today, so I should get that going within the next couple of hours too.

I have household chores to do as well. I’m hoping this weekend is a stay at home weekend.

Help! I’m trapped at the tire store!!! I’ve been here almost 3 times as long as they said it would be.

Although, there is a CUTE little puppy here that I’d like to take home.

Third load is in the washer, I’m showered and dressed, mac-n-cheese is cooking for my lunch, knitting has ensued. It’s a good morning in FairyChatLand!

All that’s needed to make it perfect would be chocolate…

We’re back from the dog park. Dogs are washed, breakfast et and dishes washed, I’m washed, clothes are in the washer…

I have more to do but we’ll see what gets done. Blrf.

So Miami Friend has packed up his bags and moved into his new place. I’m mildly relieved to have the rumpus room back and being able to watch TV again without feeling like I’m intruding on his space… but I’ll miss having someone to commute to work with me in the morning and to chat with me when The Boy is working late in the evenings. I’m sure the kittehs will miss having the extra pair of hands for butt scritches, too.

I made gingerbread pancakes with sauteed apples as a goodbye brunch. They were nom. The Boy is now doing dishes and tidying up the kitchen while I putter around and sip coffee. Life is good.

Pie, step away from the puppy. I’m sure he’s cute, but puppies (like babies) are always much cuter when they’re someone else’s problem.

Plus, like babies, there comes a point when they become teenagers…

My son’s car failed the damn emissions test. Sigh…

We now have the car someplace that’s “emissions certified” having them run a diagnostic waiver so we can say we spent $150 or more to rectify the problems. That will at least allow us to tranfer title and get the tabs for it.

We’re looking at about $2500 in repairs at the moment. I’m sure they’ll find more. Dammit. My son now realizes he needs to work more hours so he can start saving to pay for the repairs.

Ugh…what a pain in the ass. My son is certainly disappointed. We were already looking at a CV joint repair, now the above just adds to it. I feel entirely ripped off, because I’m sure the emissions failure is why the sellers got rid of it. they of course did not fill us in on this little tidbit of news. Stupid us; we should have gotten the test before agreeing to buy it. I’ve never had this happen before. Lesson learned.

I put a roast in the slow cooker this morning, but our friends called and want us to meet them for pizza and drinks. Eh, the pot roast will be there tomorrow.

Sorry about the further car trouble, Taters.

Have you left the tire place yet, Pie?

I’m having an unusually productive day: 1) 1 1/2 hours in the church garden, weeding and starting to pull annuals that were looking awful, some deadheading, and taxus trimming, 2) off to park where I put some volunteer materials together for the group that I chair and then walked around and took pictures.

Now I’m home and just consumed some spaghetti with my last tomatoes, basil and chives.

Next it’s out into the garden for some fall clean-up and a little bit of planting.

Hugs.

GT

Back in Paris - very very tired.

Contemplating going to the races tomorrow - Big Horse Race tomorrow but I will see how I feel when I wake up.

Off to bed - hugs to all and special hugs for the Taters Clan & Moonie

Holy, crap, the aquarium is a MONSTER!!! It’s 6’ long and almost 2’ tall. And HEAVY! Setting it on the stand will be a real challenge - I’m guessing it’ll take 4 of us.

All my chores are done. Doggies were just fed - time to take them out. Then back to knitting. I’ll be glad to get that afghan done - it’s a pain to rassle with, it’s so big…

The campsite is being set up - there’ll be 3 tents tonight. Maybe I should rent out the back yard??

Doggies beckon - laterz…

Yeah, now imagine the weight of the water along with weight of the gravel you’ll be putting in there, **FCM! ** I can’t wait to see pics of it all set up.

Is FCD building a stand or are you purchasing a ready-made stand?

Been at a soccer tournament since 0900–cold, windy and wet. I have windburn on my face and I’m bone cold and hungry, despite many pieces of toast and piping hot soup. We lost in the semifinals.
#1 son is going to Homecoming tonight. The flowers he picked out are very nice. I am going to lay down for a bit under a wool afghan.

I inadvertently made a purple, grape-flavored volcano in my kitchen today.

Carry on.

Cool beans! I want pics.

It just clouded over- major dark thunderstorm clouds, and Mr. Lissar and Nat just left for the hardware store. Hmm. Nat’s going through a thoroughly irritating high-pitched shrieking stage, and Mr. Lissar decided Out of the House was better for everyone’s tempers, even if it pours. He’s heroic.

Smoked picnic shoulder, potatoes, and cabbage in the crockpot, and almost ready. Good fall food.

**Taters **- he’s building the stand, and the hood, and the filter system… Luckily, the place he wants to put it is adjacent to the garage wall, so the floor joists are sitting on block directly under the aquarium. So we shouldn’t have to worry about the floor crashing thru…

I just ate some leftover lasagna and now I’m having some ice cream. Then back to the recliner. Oh yeah…

Wow, how many gallons is it, FCM?

It must be nice being so handy like that. I can do simple stuff, but I certainly couldn’t do all the handyman stuff you and FCD do.

I mentioned earlier that we’re going out for pizza and drinks tonight, however, Mr. Taters commented he’d sure like a “taste” of the pot roast that burbling away in the slow cooker right now. It won’t be done for another 45 minutes, and we’re meeting our friends at six.

I suppose I could thicken up the gravy when it’s done, so he can have a “taste”. Besides, the kids and my daughter’s boyfriend are going to eat some tonight, so I need to do the gravy thing whether Mr. Taters and I have any or not.

Aquarium sounds really cool, FCM!

Mr. Lissar is a saint.

Soapy: please reveal how. And, yes, pics!!!

Tired. Dug up a little border next to the neighbors’ porch, along my driveway and planted a combination of daylilies, coneflowers, black-eyed Susans, St John’s wort, and coreopsis. They were all transplants from my garden and will continue along the fence (I have part of the fence planted already. Should be crowded enough to keep weeds from coming back.

Now I think I’ll relax for a while, maybe watch a movie and knit or something. Also need to eat something. Pot roast sounds good. CD drive ------------>

Back later.

GT

It was good,** gt.** I told my son to put the leftovers away and he informed me he couldn’t do that because he was going to make sure there weren’t any leftovers. So, I guess I can’t slide any through the CD drive to you.:(

We’re supposed to leave in about an hour to go out for dinner. Although I didn’t eat much of the roast, red potatoes and gravy, I’m still pretty full. I think I’ll just have a small salad along with my drinks at dinner tonight.
