A Because I Know How Much My Life Fascinates Y'all MMP

I get to do an MMP of my own? Wow! That’ll be, what, my third? So you see, I’m not that much of a slacker…

Now all I have to do is remember what we did and sort out my photos at the weekend. Did I tell you I’m coming down with Teh Sick too?

moonie - you really have had a Monday, haven’t you?

Up. At 'em.

Blurf. I’m at my desk in Cubeville, clean shaven, and wearing clean clothes. How the hell did I get here, 'cuz I don’t remember driving.

Other than that, I got nuttin’.

I cannot seem to get up on these dark mornings… Off to work via the morning train.

Up, caffeinated, off to work. Bowling tonight.

yaaaaaaaaaaawn

It’s officially fall at Chez Mahna. I had to turn on the furnace this morning, because today’s high is a whopping 12C… my ability to live in denial fails when faced with my inability to wake up in the cold.

Guess that’s my cue to do the last of the winterization on the garden this weekend. Ick.

Also, this morning’s Tim Horton’s coffee ain’t got sh*t on last night’s latte. That was some good coffee.

Mr Rebo got downsized today. He’s only had the job for one month, so of course the newbie gets the axe. As did 29 others.

There is one bright side. His supervisor, and his supervisor highly recommended him for another job in a different division - but he still has to apply. Plus he’d have to be trained on the computer program. There is another guy more qualified, but they have not recommended him because he has a poor work ethic, while Mr Rebo has an excellent one.

Fuck. :frowning:

Blurf. I am up. I am off today. Yay!

Summer is offically totally over. We had a storm come through overnight and it snowed up on the mountains higher than me and it’s supposed to get up to a balmy 39F today. I think I will have to turn on my heat before I go to bed tonight, if not sooner. It’s supposed to get to 20F overnight. sigh There go my $15 power bills for the year. It’s supposed to warm back up into the 50s for awhile, but it’s definitely fall now.

moonie. Damn. Worst Monday Ever.

Here, too!!! It was only 65 degrees Murkin this morning!!! Sorry…

boofae, we all are just trying to guilt you into posting your pics n’all. Come to think of it, it’s been nearly a year since I did one. :o

That is all.

Tupug

Og, Rebo, that sucks! Best wishes for the transfer/rehire/whatever. For the other job.

If fall is in, fall in Edinburgh is gorgeous. On the cold side for me, but gorgeous.

I’d whine about allergies and stupid schedules but damn, that ain’t nuthin’ compared with the Stuff now sweeping the MMP.

Busy week this week, since everyone at work has just woken up from their 3-month summer and Ramadan hibernation. All of a sudden, they remember that they have to do some deals to make some money, and doing deals requires Legal’s help (often, it requires Legal to actually do most of the thinking for them too)!

The only sign here of summer’s end is the fact that I had to turn the water heaters back on this week. Because the mains water pressure here is so appallingly (sp?) pitiful, everyone who wants to take a regular shower (rather than standing under a drip-flow) has a water tank on their roof, from which water is gravity fed into the house. During summer, the rooftop water tank bakes in the 40C/100F plus sun, resulting in very warm water from the “cold” tap, so you don’t need “hot” water during summer! Plus, because the hot water heaters usually aren’t on the roof, the water in the switched-off hot water tank is usually much cooler than the “cold” water.

{{Rebo and Mr. Rebo}}

That’s neat about the cold water getting hot in the summer Dotty! I hadn’t thought about that but it makes sense. Pretty cool, really. (Well, not literally cool. )

The cold front came through here on Sunday night (I think I mentioned wearing boots on Monday.), but I love fall weather so I’m all for it. We’ve had to have the quilt pulled up while sleeping (no heat on yet), which I love. Being all bundled up under the covers just feels so nice and makes me sleep better than the hot weather in the summer. Yay fall!

I have almost nothing to do at work today (Manager’s out until tomorrow.) So I uploaded some pics this morning to Kodak’s site and I’m making myself a picture book. It’s looking good! The first one’s with pictures from May’s Seattle trip. At lunch I’ll upload pics from this recent trip and make a second book at the same time. I’m assuming it’ll be cheaper to ship two than just one. And it’ll give me something to work on this afternoon. Once I get them all uploaded, I’ll try to figure out how to share the albums. (Usually I use Photobucket.) This is kinda fun. Once in a while it’s nice to have a boss-less day!

{{{{Rebo & Mr Rebo}}}}

Hopefully he’ll snag that new job. It sucks he has to apply for it through the regular process, but hopefully the fact that he’s got backing from higher ups is a good sign.

Survived yet another weekly checkpoint meeting, which usually feels more or less like Groundhog Day (in that, most of the time I’m thinking to myself “Am I the only one who remembers having this exact same conversation just last week?”). Heading off to suburbia for the rest of the day with Boss Guy… hope the afternoon goes better for Mumpers than the morning has so far. :stuck_out_tongue:

Muppet, when you come back - do you have a steamer thingy to heat the milk for lattes? I’d really like a milk steamer for home use, but I don’t know 1) if they exist in non-professional sizes and 2) if they’re any good. Come back with more info on how you made your latte!

taxi, when I make a home latte, I just heat the milk up in the microwave, then froth it with with a hand blender (like this). Alternatively, you can buy one of those little milk frother thingamajigs.

Happy Birthday Rosie, my schnookums!

Let’s see if I understand… all those hours spent learning how to keep the milk from bubbling, and y’all are bubbling it on purpose?

Feliz cumpleaños, Rosie!!!

pink just doesn’t show right…

Happy Birthday ROSIE!

PT’s gave me an electrostimulation treatment for both knees this morning, then proceeded to run me through a long set of exercises. LOL The electrostim stuff involved gel, electrodes and some very warm heat. The stim itself felt like tiny insects crawling, but it wasn’t -too- bad. And it did help with both swelling and pain, so there is that. And the exercises are the strengthen the muscles around the knees, so that’s good too. I’ve got more PT appts. coming. And tomorrow afternoon I go to see my primary care doc. Woo.

Three down, two to go!
