A Because I Know How Much My Life Fascinates Y'all MMP

Late! latelatelatelate

Did manage to run by DD and get coffee for me and brought in Munchkins for my office.

But I’m late!

(not that kind of late.)

Owowowowow. Why are my sinuses hurting so much? It’s too cold for pollen, isn’t it? Methinks I’ll have to buy some decongestants at lunch, though I’d really rather not.

I finally admitted defeat and picked the last of my tomatoes last night. I’ve got around 1 1/2 cups worth of small green tomatoes… hopefully it’ll be enough to make a small batch of jam, because they’re much too small to make fried green tomatoes (these plants produce wee tomatoes - the biggest is a little over 2" in diameter).

Er, um, ::cough:: did I? Uh, yeah, sure. Why not!

Hippo Birdie, Two Ewes, rosie!

muppet, I thought I heard it was ragweed season up thayuh.

boofae, that beer sounds divine!!

I didn’t know oatmeal could get stale, but, yeah, yeah, it does. :p:p:p

Tupug

Hi!

Drive by - in Nigeria - interesting trip - still alive - need my own bed!

Toodles!

I am caffeinating and getting ready for work. I paid my bills and still have beer money left.

BBBobbio, yeah but if I golfed, I’d probably shoot a 300, 300, and a 290.

Boofae, sounds like a great medicinal beer to fight off Teh Sick.

Hmm… good point. All well-known stalkers (including **doggio **too… he seems to feel left out of this infamous little group) and unknown, possible-would-be stalkers excluded. How’s that? :stuck_out_tongue:

Waves at mmmmmmmms.

I think I like the idea of a home espresso maker, muppet. I don’t get coffee out all the time, but I do think it’d pay for itself over time. How hard is it to make espresso right at home?

Don’t feel like being at work today. Not enough to get done. And it’s the rainy kind of day that makes you want to stay in bed and read a book. Preferably a trashy romance novel or something of the sort. No great literature on a rainy, stay-in-bed day.

And I’ve been avoiding my email since I responded to my aunt’s political email. I’m completely being a chicken. And I might be missing other emails through my avoidance strategy. I have a conflict problem if I’m avoiding email just to avoid a possible political discussion. I should have just stayed the heck out of it in the first place! But she just got under my skin. ::sigh::

The pair of pants that I am wearing today have one leg longer than the other. I’ve owned these pants for years (although they haven’t fit me for quite some time) and have just discovered this. Do you think I can get a refund?

Easy peasy, actually. Some of the fancier machines take some time to get used to, but mine is an entry-level Krupps model and it’s ridiculously easy to use - fill the reservoir with water, put your coffee in the portafilter, compress the grounds lightly, twist into place, then press button and wait for coffee. There’s a little steam arm with a twisty knob I can use to control the pressure so I can steam milk while coffee brews.

I’ve noticed that what matters most is the coffee. It should be fresh-ground, preferably from good-quality whole beans that are less than a week old, and very finely ground (I grind until the texture looks like fine breadcrumbs). You really notice the difference in the flavour, believe me.

Welcome back, mmmmmmmmmmmm. Did any political widows offer you millions of dollars?

Puggy, it’s too damn cold for ragweed now. For the past few days, the temp has budged above 12C. :frowning:

I am alive.

Busier than anybody has any business being, tired and my day ain’t over yet (at 9 PM) but alive and actually in possession of a couple of minutes of leisure!

Happy Birthday Rosie!!

Taxi, why would you exclude us [del]stalkers[/del] nice guys…? Don’t you want to get your pics to where they’ll make the most impression? :stuck_out_tongue:

**DoRe **-- {{{{}}}} for **DoReMan **and fingers crossed for that other job!

Yay, boo, husg and gropes to everybody else… Zoooooooom!

I am the only one eating the Munchkins.

Blurf.

Hmm… this may be the problem with the whole issue. I really only want coffee/latte/mocha maybe once or twice a week. Keeping coffee fresh or buying one-two cup’s worth of coffee beans each week probably isn’t feasible. :frowning: I’ll probably have to stick to store-bought lattes.

I’d take a munchkin, soapy. I miss DD. They have inexpensive, fresh lattes!

Interesting point, Special1. I hadn’t considered the stalker’s interest level!

It’s not bullying - it’s, um, encouraging! Yeah, that’s the word you wanted.

Steak and other yummies for supper. Plus I made some 'nanner muffins. Gotta go put the steak under the broiler. Laterz!!!

Howdy Y’all! I’s home, beerveraged and feelin’ no pain. I’m also a bachelor tonight, thus the beerveragin’ on a work night. I’m better when ol’ y’all know who is around.

doggio ummmmmm… sorry. If it makes ya feel any better, I think of you as a big ol’ horn dawg. That will either make you feel better or really creeped out. Either way, I’m good. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, I have to weigh in in the donut department. I live in the land of Krispy Kreme. I say there is nuttin’ better than drivin’ by a KK when the “HOT, FRESH” sign is lit up. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM… haven’t had a KK donut in a long time. I’m gone this weekend but mayhaps next weekend I shall wake ol’ y’all know who up early and send him over to KK when I know the “HOT, FRESH” sign is lit up. Or would that be too mean to wake him up to get to KK by six a.m.?

YAY!!! I killed my own MMP! Go Me!

Nice job!

Well, ok then, nobody talk. So what!

Last post for me

'Ullo, all. Birthday greetings, pats on backs, hugs as needed etc.

I have to get up at 0500 to get to Hoffman Estates by 0730 tomorrow for an all day conference with my boss (library).

Gah.
Good night all.

Well, dammit. My daughter was involved in a car accident today and it was her fault for failure to yield. The important thing is nobody was hurt, but the cop had her car towed because the air bag didn’t deploy.

So, it’s sitting at the towing yard until the insurance adjuster can take a look at it. I guess her car is pretty munched in the front end. She hit a jeep, but the jeep didn’t really take any real damage. We’ll see what the lady claims on the insurance anyway.

Poor kid. It was her first day of sophomore year a UW and she was thrilled to actually be driving to class. She was trying to find her assigned parking area. She was attempting to make a left turn and that’s when the collision occurred. The lady actually hit my daughter, but it’s my daughter’s fault because she didn’t have the right of way.

My daughter is now back to taking the bus until she can get another car, which we can’t really help her out with now. We just got done helping our son buy his car and I have bills to pay.

The truly important thing, as I said above, was that no one was hurt. My husband was able to go collect her, although she missed her first day of classes.

Work was suckitude, but what else is new.

Thank God tomorrow is Friday.

{{Taters kid}} I’m so glad everyone is ok- how scary though!

Poor kid.

Survived another day. I bought dog food, and thus avoided cannibalism for another week or so. It feels like hockey outside.

Taters, glad your daughter is OK. Sucks about the car, thougn.

Thanks, I feel all warm and fuzzy. Wait, that’s just Gordie.:stuck_out_tongue:

Muppet, I have a Krups espresso machine I bought for $5 at a yard sale. Take that. Starbucks!

Soapy, that sounds naughty.
