rigs (or anyone else who recently successfully made this wondrous dish), question re the Death Chicken - is the Cream of Chicken Soup condensed (i.e. the type you have to add water to make the soup) or regular (just heat and serve)? Because I made the mistake once before using a recipe for Chicken Lasagna (American in origin - all the recipe said was 2 cans of cream of chicken soup), and I don’t want to waste perfectly good chicken and bacon on the wrong consistency of soup! Kthxbai!
Oky-doky folks - back to watching CSI New York before beddy-byes!
Oops, before I forget - hugs, yays, boos, noogies, etc. thrown randomly around the room! CATCH!
Whew - back from the mammogram and it wasn’t so bad this time! Yay!! Got the all-clear; just took a while to get back home from there. Tomorrow is the appointment with my primary care physician. Kaiser Permanente, btw … any rejoinders, Shadow or CutiePie? This is my third primary care doc in the past two years - damn it, they keep quitting!
Had a spinach empanada before coming home - boy, it was good. I think I may try to make some this weekend.
Dotty, you used the condensed cream of chicken soup; hence the need to add a cup of water.
I’m still going to call it Death Chicken. I refuse to call it Chicken of Death; that makes it sound like something that will give you food poisoning.
I don’t speak French, so am not about to nitpick someone’s French grammar.
Crap! I’m still dead in the water here. There’s still no resolution to the issue I’m having with being able to access a particular data mining system. Grrrrrr…I really, really, really need to get some reports out. Additionally, I’ve been asked to do a new report that requires access to this system.
I should finish eating and try to do something productive.
Ok, OK, I am not French; I never took French; I don’t know from French, but this must be said:
will you frenchified peoples make up your Gallic minds already? I am now re announcing the renaming of the chicken. This is my final name. Any changes after this and it will be Mass Murdered Chicken, do I make myself clear? Oui? Bon.
The dish from heaven will now be called:
le poulet de la mort
Off Hamavet sounds like a Shakespeare and Dashiell Hammet mash up. No and No and No…
I still say that Death acts as an adjective in the phrase, so why would we treat it as a noun? Then again, the chicken IS dead when we make Death Chicken… which came first, the death or the chicken?
<pounds head against desk>
In a fit of domestic activity rarely visited upon me, I have fixed the vacuum cleaner, vacuumed the downstairs (after dusting the ceiling fans), clean the master bath, and shampooed the FR carpet with our lil Bissell that could. I am now resting on those laurels.
I read that as the girl had killed herself while standing over the place (one of them) where the collider is.
I got a late start, but I finished the front hall, then I ran out of paint. So I did a paint run, and stopped to get a couple of things at the grocery store. I’m eating lunch, then back at it. I have everything ready to put the Death Chicken in the oven at 4:30 - din-din at 6:30.
Maybe she thought it was the Head On Collider?
I saw about Otto. I can see both sides, although I think Ed acted too quickly and too extremely. The bad thing about that is climbing off the high horse and letting Otto come back. Not likely…
Nap time. It’s Parent Night at the elementary school tonight.
I am back at work after my mini-cation. I took Monday and Tuesday off to show my Mom and Aunt around Bean-town.
All caught up with the MMP.
Got the stuff to make Death Chicken or whatever French version we’re calling it now. Forgot bacon. :smack::smack: So, I can’t make that yet. Has anyone tried it in the crock pot? It seems like it would lend itself well to that… My crock pot just arrived from Illinois, so I need things to make in it. It’s teeny tiny though, only like 2 or 2.5 quarts. Perfect for two people, and easy to store.
I also got all of my craft stuff. Yarn, set of knitting needles, fabric, sewing machine and all sorts of other things. Woo Hoo. I’m so excited. I think I need more storage space for all of this stuff. In related news, I have a lot of unfinished projects. Once something isn’t working for me, I’m pretty quick to put it down.
Whaddaya know… the universe didn’t implode on itself when they fired up the collider.
Guess that means I will have to figure out what to make for dinner. Since I’m picking up pot roast on the way home, do I want to make some ropa vieja (or maybe picadillo) with rice and black beans? Or do I want to be lazy and just reheat some leftovers of last night’s pasta (which, I must say, was damned tasty)? Decisions, decisions.
As far as my feelings about banning Otto go, I’ll just stick with what I’ve said so far in The Pit thread where it’s safe (for now, anyways). First time I’ve ever felt I needed to watch what I say on this board… it’s disappointing, to say the least.
That’s kind of how I feel, too. I might have said more, but I said my piece and left it. I’ve never eve received a warning and don’t intend to start today.
I would reheat the leftovers. The other food sounds good, but why not reuse the leftovers? Add cheese, it makes everything better.
Definitely reheat the leftovers Muppet. Never waste food. Unless, of course, it turns out extremely icky. I am reminded of a twenty years ago experience with a broccoli-corn casserole that was just about the grossest thing I ever tasted. I’m talkin’ what gets served in hell gross.
Dindin was teh nummy! There’s enough leftover for tomorrow also, which is always a good thing with teh nummy.
I still have about 2 hours of photoshopping to do on the pix from last week’s quartet showcase, so I’m not even going to pretend I skimmed.
But love to you all and

As it turns out, The Boy is stuck at work and will not be home for dinner.
Leftovers it is.
For the curious, that would be pasta in a cream-vermouth sauce with sweet peas, smoked pork and mixed wild mushrooms, garnished with fresh dill and parsley (sorry meeks, no cheese on this one… it’s rich enough without). As you can see, we eat really badly at Chez Mahna. I might even splurge and crack open a beerverage to wash it down, since I’m in that kind of mood.
I made us some *goooooooood *N.O.T. soup for supper, plus 2 punkin pies. We’ll be having the pies in a bit. Our guest mentioned how she’d never had punkin pie, so **FCD **suggested (begged for) a couple for dessert. With Cool Whop, of course.
It’s lovely and cool, so the house is open. I’m still hoping for an uninterrupted night’s sleep. Last night, **FCD **punched me in the head in his sleep. Not hard - it didn’t hurt, but it was enough to wake me up. He’s a twitchy sleeper sometimes, and he loves to cuddle, but when he twitches while cuddling, I’m the one who loses zzzzzzzzzz. <yawn>
One more work day, then I’m off. Still don’t know what’s going to happen about the craft show this weekend - the weather is iffy. We shall see…
Someone convince me to go wash some dishes so I don’t have to do it tomorrow morning.
The Otto banning pisses me off, too. I’m another never-been-warned person. I’ve never even been Pitted, although someone almost sort of did once. It was a group thread Pitting, so I don’t think it counts.
I don’t remember if anyone welcomed me to the Dope. It was too long ago.
