Morning Mumpers! Today is gonna be a DOGPARK! day before it gets too hot. Tonight is the Booster Club draft party.
Happy Birthday Captain Carrot
Glad Mr. mmmmmm has a job for t least a bit longer. Hope he can go home and rest.
Happy Firday. Blurf.
A hot, as in sweltering, weekend ahead, and I have a long list of honeydos. First and foremost is fixing the discharge pipe under my terlet. It won’t take too long, but I gotta be under the house which is no picnic.
I also have bambilance duty tomorrow night. It’s the weekend of the NC EMS convention, so by definition, we’ll be shorthanded. It’s in Greenvegas, former land of Spaz, and an hour and change from The VunderLair. I’d luuuuurve to go, but can’t.
Happy Birthday, MAJ BunnyFart.
ETA: The pinkeye is getting better. The redness and itching is gone, but I’m still light sensitive. Another day of drops, and I’ll try my contacts again.
Thank God it’s Firday!!!
And belated happies to carrot and muppet!
taters, I loved San Antonio when I was there years ago.
ems, I’ll keep appendages crossed for hubs.
Someone here in cubeland has Michael Jackson soundtrack playing.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Tupug
Happy birfday Cap’n!!! Have a drink on me!
Bobbio- fresh contacts, right??
Hanging at the DMV, renewing my licence… Did my hair today for the fab photoshoot at the DMV!
Happy belated, Carrot! If you think 21 is meh, just wait until 31… that’s really, really meh (and I suspect it’s only downhill from here)
A bunch of my girlfriends (all former and current coworkers) took me out for a lovely dinner last night. We ate at a private club where one of the older ladies in the group is a member, which happens to share a kitchen with one of my favourite chi-chi restaurants. It was absolutely lovely… and surprisingly unpretentious.
LiLi, it was surprisingly refreshing last night. Hope you managed to get out and enjoy it… I suspect it’s the last cool night we’ll have for a while.
{{mmmmmmmm}} Waiting is always the worst part, especially when it comes to potential bad news. Keeping fingers crossed for the mister.
Worst picture ever.
See, now you’re just going to have to share with us so that we can determine if it is indeed the worst picture ever, or just a garden-variety bad picture.
(yes, I’m bored… how’d you guess?)
It’s trapped on my license, otherwise, suuuure, I’d post my worst picture ever for the world to see. Absoluuuutely.
Dogs were parked. Nelly has a crush on a German Shorthair Pointer(I have never seen her run like that before). I cleaned the fridge, and took out the trash. I wonder if that was a dried out black olive, or a blackened Cheerio I threw away?
Soapy, unless it makes you look like a zombie or Osama bin Laden, it can’t be the worst picture ever.
Muppet, 31? That’s still young.
Evening all.
A question, if you will - how “big” was your child’s second birthday party? HRH’s was a small family affair, with a small shop-bought cake, a few party hats, some streamers and some yummy finger food. Total number of people attending was about 10, all family. We just came back from a kid’s 2nd birthday party, which must have set the parents back at least $10,000! Check out the cake! More frighteningly, check out the little-old-man-paedophile Teletubbies, all reaching for their crotches! Seriously, the cake was 3 feet long and 2 feet wide! Plus, there was a kiddie train ride, a jumping castle, pony rides, a magician, soft-serve ice cream and popcorn stations, a full hot and cold buffet meal and a full bar (for the grown-ups) with service! There were at least 70 people there! Oh, and I forgot to mention the 10 foot by 6 foot poster-sized photo board of the birthday boy posing next to Lightning McQueen (from the movie, Cars). Insane!!! But look - isn’t HRH cute?
ETA: First on four! w00t!!!
Tell that to my gray hair, wouldja?
Dotty, when it comes to their kids, some people lose all sense of proportion. On a totally unrelated note, it’s like HRH morphed from baby to little girl practically overnight… and a cute little girl, at that.
**Dotty **- I’m pretty sure we didn’t do a party per se when my kid turned 2. If we did, it was just family and cake. Methinks some folks get too carried away with birthday parties. Come to think of it, we never had a party for her that required rental or reservations. Everything was at home - either swimming party or pizza party or make-your-own-sundae party or sleepover… She even had a hat party once - I bought big straw hats for all the guests, and they decorated them with feathers and ribbons and buttons and “gems” and stuff - the girls had a blast.
Heck, she even did her “Sweet 16” at home - consisting of eating and sitting around talking.
Happy CarrotDay!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaand, I’m on vacation! Woohoo!! Picnic tomorrow to celebrate a friend’s retirement. No idea what we’ll do Sunday. Rest of the time - clay play. YAY!
I need to make a list of what I need for the picnic - if I don’t write it down, I’ll forget.
TGIF!!
Incidentally, gt, I’ll take Monday if no one else called dibs. After all, I’ll be home…
Howdy Y’all!
Ok, we have bidness to take care of.
All in favor of MOOOOOOOM bein’ our hostess with the mostess next week say “aye”.

A Rare beebs sighting!! w00t!!
Just sneakin’ back in to say nitey nite Y’all! It’s da Bear’s beddybye time cause tommorrow is his Firday.
I had a crappy week at work, faulty databases, lousy weather, etc etc etc - all gone with the wind because when I came home, waiting on my stoop was this really big box from MacMall - yeah, I caved and bought an iMac! (and an iPod Touch)
I am now happy.
but the weather is still sucky
Damn! I knew I should have gone past your home.
Your UPS guy really left a big box of computers on the step for the whole world to see, covet and possibly swipe?
I’ve been wanting to upgrade as mine’s getting on 4 years old (think it’s the first generation with Intel) and it might email as fast as ever, but Photoshop really could stand a kick in the pants. I just got a copy of the CS4 Design Premium Suite, (Thanks to a friend at Adobe and employee pricing - no way in hell I’d be spending $1600 on flipping software!) and I’m almost afraid to install it for fear that my poor Mac will melt.
Right now, we’ve got the murky hot tub blues. Actually, it’s the greens, not the blues. I dumped a crapload of shock into it, and the green’s gone, but it’s still murky. Hopefully that will just filter out soon enough.
