A bleary eyed MMP

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

I’ve met Ruble, Spidey, and the late rosie in person. And I wave westward when I drive through Maryland, does that count for you?

Depends on what route you’re driving - I’m east of I-95! But, no, waving doesn’t count. :stuck_out_tongue:

Even if he uses ALL his fingers?

Why wouldn’t he use all his fin… oh, wait!

Morning. Got about 6 hours sleep so nappage is a distinct possibility. Another clear day in the 90’s.

Me too, FCM.

All y’all take care.

I’ve not met any dopers. It’s that Witness Protection thing.

Mooommm’s #1! Mooommm’s #1! :stuck_out_tongue:

Here, let me fix that for you: “I’ve not met any dopers. It’s that Wit[del]n[/del]Less Protection thing.

You’re welcome!
It was like reunion night at run club last night; a buncha people who haven’t been there in a while, some over a year, showed up.

Happy Firday!

It is COLD outside. Glad I wore my hoodie, wish I had worn long pants.

We are home from the park early, Ripple has a cut next to his eye, and I have a 10am appointment with the vet.

All puppy plans have changed. I got an email from the breeder yesterday saying that a black puppy from a previous litter just became available, so I will be getting a black female in about 2 weeks.
She is adorable and I can’t wait.
I still haven’t told my son.

Butters, I’m sorry talking about colors. They mean nothing unless you see the picture. Each puppy has a different color ribbon around their neck to identify them. So the breeder send me a picture of the litter and told me which colors were available, and then I got individual pics of each of the available pups along with a pic of mom and dad.
Ripple was lime green, and everything that came with him was lime green, his harness and leash, his toy, his file.
It’s what breeders do, especially with breeds where all the puppies look alike.

Ripple’s color is fawn, and I was going to get another fawn puppy until this black one became available. There is no extra cost for fawn and black, but some of the other colors cost more.
I’m glad she won’t be a Ripple look-a-like.

Well, need to get moving to go to the vet.
And change my irk hours to start later as I don’t know how long I will be.

Well, duh! Twice even!! :smack: I knew I was going to forget someone…

I beg to differ mon cheri -------- you and the OW have both beaten me several times over the last couple years.

Ya beat me to it!

PS — if you cross paths with my former co-irker let him know I start Monday in the same tributary as him. Or just tell him I decided to become a treasonous bastard. He’ll understand. Facebook him if you know how to ---- just leave my actual name out of it.

Three to four hours tonight and then I’m in Canada and those nasty catchers can’t get me. WOOHOO!!!

Last day of the school week and I am very excited. I’m back from taking 'Beamette to car pool, and moving on to taking 'Beamer to school. Akiko is sleeping like a sensible pup and I’m considering leaving her here and taking Pixel as my drive buddy instead.

Happy Friday everyone!

TGIF finally.

Ripple got some antibiotics but no stitches.

The vet says he needs eye surgery for entropion. I don’t know about that. I talked to the breeder and she says that occasional gunky or watery eyes are nothing to worry about. Ripple is not rubbing or pawing at his eyes and he doesn’t seem to be bothered by them. Some mornings they are gunky, I wipe them and he is fine.
This is the same vet who thought he needed surgery because his nostrils are too small. Unlike Mackie, Ripple does not snore, snort, gurgle, and wheeze. Mackie could have provided the voice for the Tasmanian devil, Ripple is quiet.

I need to get some pics of his eyes and send them to the breeder. I trust her judgement more than the vet’s.

I should be taking a nap. I got only 3 hours sleep last night. Customer kept me on the phone until almost midnight. Then my bladder woke me at 3:30. When I went back to bed I saw the flashing blue and red lights out front. I don’t know what was going on, but I never got back to sleep.

I need to talk to my son about some things, and he gets grumpy every time I try.
Right now he uses school as an excuse to not do anything. I know one of his classes is a lot of work and is hard. It started with 30 students and it looks like it is down to 4. Or at least only 4 are posting on the message board, which is a huge chunk of the grade.

It’s good. Here’s a quote: “Ejection fraction, or EF, is a measurement that indicates how well your heart is functioning. This number tracks how much blood your heart is pumping out with each contraction. Your ejection fraction is described as a percentage. If you’re healthy, your ejection fraction is generally between 55% and 70%.”
My EF hasn’t been this good in Um…7 or 8 years, I think. There’s still a little bit of ‘thickening’ in the wall of my left ventricle, but not like it was before. I’m doing good.

That’s one thing I liked about working on AS400s, they never crashed. The only way to stop them from running was to cut off their power.

I’ve been having trouble with ‘night sweats’ lately and was reading up on them and ran across someone who said that they can be caused by acetaminophen, which I had been taking before bed to help me sleep. I quit that and have been sleeping pretty much dry for the last week.
We are, however, equipped with adult beverages.

The GirlChild[sup]tm[/sup]'s doggie medicine wasn’t helping the boy’s kennel cough, so Wifey called the vet and they prescribed some pills for the boys and gave them to us at no charge, since it was their kennel where they got the kennel cough.
They’re getting better now.

The roofers are done. Yay! Today I need to sweep the driveway for nails. I’ve got a big magnet onna stick I can do it with. I use it in the garage to pick up screws and nails and such. When you get to a certain age, you appreciate things that come on sticks. You don’t have to bend over so much.

I noticed, as I sometimes do, that various of you referencing things that I can’t recall anyone saying. I know I’ve read the entire thread, but apparently didn’t retain a lot. I apologize, and Rosie’s sig.

Not to mention trying to see little things with old eyes… with a magnet, you get close enough, and you’ve got the little buggers!!

Getting closer to quit time. I may come in for a couple of hours this weekend, but I don’t think I’ll need to come on Moanday. We shall see.

Sari - my newfie had a minor case of entropion. He was fine for many years with gentle cleaning. Late in life the inverted eye lashes did start to abrade his cornea. I think it could have been managed with some eye ointment to help protect the eye. Short version - keep an eye out for corneal irritation (his interior third eyelid won’t completely retract, for example).

I’m excited about the new pup! I can’t wait to see pictures.

This should irk

Not my idea of a good way to get off a queue I dislike.

Currently keeping DH company in the emergency room. His leg got into an argument with several sheets of drywall. The leg did not win.

Awwww!

Hope it’s not too serious and he recovers soonest.

So what am I, chopped liveh? :stuck_out_tongue:

Moooooom, I’ve met the aforementioned doggie, ruble, brynda, cubmistress, st. germain, cosmosdan, tuckerfan, zeldar, bosda, fiver, the late rick q and zoe and a few others that slip my mind. Once upon a time, we had quite a few active dopers in the greater Nashville area and would do a dopefest every couple of years.

Congrats on the new pupper sari! She’s adorable! Do you have any ideas for a name yet?

Hugs to you and your hubby, nettie. I hope the sheetrock didn’t do too much damage.

Had any of the bosses been in today (they’re in our Mexico City facility), I could have gone home around 1:30. If wishes were horses.

Supper is et and Nelson and I will head to the dog park in a little while.
