A Brief History of Ratdom - AKA the MMP

My sweetie is on his way to the marina with a vanload of stuff, including a jug of iced tea and the ladder. When he asked the yard guy when our boat would be hauled out, he got a “look” and a response of “I dunno - 8 or 9 or 10 - whenever I get here…” Which tells me they’re not schedule bound at Harbor Island Marina. I wasn’t going to go because the whole business of watching our boat hanging in the straps, whether coming out or going in, makes me really nervous. I’m OK once it’s blocked in place on land, but that transition always bothers me. Even when we had our wussy 23’ starter boat. So I’m here.

I had an interesting breakfast - a bowl of cornflakes and some leftover Polish sausage. And a Diet Coke. Breakfast of champions!! I also made my sweetie another batch of tea. And in a few minutes, I’ll head downstairs to tidy up my studio, then mess it up again. Gotta remember to take my wedding band off, tho - clay under a ring is not a pleasant experience.

Have a wunnerful Saturday, one and all!

Happy Birthday Taters
…[/color]…*

Up and caffeinating. I am going to clean the bathroom and vacuum today, then of to work.

FCM, Maggie isn’t a licker, either. Enjoy the clay day.

gt, swampy, enjoy playing in the dirt, just don’t track any indoor, 'cause Rod the Roomba would hunt you down.

Happy Taters Day!

Up, caffeinating, Shredded-Wheating, and thinking really hard about getting off the couch to start doing…stuff.

It’s going to be a nice day here, colder tomorrow and I don’t think wasting today with indoor stuff sounds like much fun.

My walls are bare, (N.O.B.), all the pictures and things being down in pre-painting preparation. You don’t realize how many holes you have in your walls until you have to take all the stuff down at once.

At least I know I’m going to feel better today than a certain someone who has to hangover her way through the end of her thesis…

Happy Birthday, Taters!

Bro’s on his way over with breakfast. After which he’ll run me one more errand and hang while I do my PT, then he heads home. It’s tough to be motivated to do my exercises when no one is here. But I know if I don’t, I won’t heal properly.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.

I am up and have gotten my first cup of coffee.

Tonight is our big shindig so soon I call commence with tidying up some more. After that, I’ll have to run to the grocery store to pick up munchies for the party. Nothing big, just chips, dips, veggie trays, that kind of thing.

Those are my big plans for the day.

My dog is a licker and the cat I used to have was one too. Come to think of it, all the cats I’ve ever had were lickers.

I guess I’ll read the Dope a little more now, and then get started with my day.

:: innocent look :: Who, me?

I think I actually ended up killing my cold by drowning it in alcohol.

Happy Birthday, Taters!

I’m back from dirt diggin’! We planted nandinas and palms around the sign in front of the church. Ok, the palms are actually to the side cause plantin’ palm trees in front of a sign would be like dumb cause they’d just block the sign and why have a sign if your just gonna block it, right? We also planted monkey grass and begonias around the columbariums, some more tea olives, some rose bushes and put pine straw out all over the place. It’s amazing what ten people who are actually workin’ can get done in a couple hours. Plus some mowin’ and weed whackin’ got done.

A big ol part of the land around the building has been aqua seeded. The place is a mudhole. If you happen up on it, don’t step in it cause you’ll sink.

Anywho, I’m home and all showered and fed. I foresee a nap in the near future.

BioRosie keep hangin’ in there! Follow BioTigs advice about doin’ the PT and exercises. Look how well she’s doin’ now!

Later Y’all!

Oh, one more thing…

HOW’S THE HANGOVER [size=6]HAZE!!![/size]

Momentary break between planting at park and planting at church.

That is all.

Very productive clay day - I threw 3 cat bodies and 5 cat heads, plus 3 more pieces that I intend to moosh toghether when they dry a bit more. I also built the first of the monster dog food bowls - MamaTigs, you’re going to need a forklift to move the doggone things! Although when they dry, they’ll be lighter. I’m going to make them from 2 different color clays so you can tell them apart. Plus there’ll be the whole dog name thing. Plus I doubt that they’ll be identical anyways… But they’ll be substantial!

For a while, all 3 of my critters were in the studio with me - what is this animal magnetism I have? And why didn’t it work on men when I was young and single? Life can be so unfair.

I took a break. Yeah, a break. I just finished vacuuming - had to empty the dirt collector thingy THREE TIMES!!! But the carpet is somewhat more respectable. After the new stuff is installed, I’m going to clean the rest - my mom loaned me her carpet shampooer. So that gives me something to look forward to.

I also installed 2 of the screens in the front storm doors. We’ve got 4 screens, but I decided just to put in the upper ones - that way I don’t have to worry about animals tearing the lower ones. And it’s all sunny and warm, so the house is open. And since I think we’re finally done with freezes for the season, I put 3 of my monster spider plants out on the front steps. Now I need to scrub the plant shelf in the bow window - it’s kinda gross.

But first, a break…

Hi all!

Happy Birthday, Taters!

I’m fixin’ to be on my way to deliver gumbo, beans (with ham) and cornbread muffins to my sister-in-law. Should feed the crowd for a while.

This morning, I also made spaghetti sauce and meatballs for din-din. I’ll just have to make the pasta and bread and salad when I get home. Yay! It’s about a 45-minute trip down to Pearland from here.

I took Lucy with me to PetSmart to get a harness that fits! I’ve already come home with two that didn’t. And I got Ernie (aka Houdini) one too. So we can try walking around the block again without runaway dogs.

Mr Rebo is continuing his home improvements, and putting up more siding. I think he might get finished with the section he’s working on this weekend. Then next weekend will be a new kitchen window! He works so hard.

Well, I’d better hit the road.

Have a great Saturday!

Floors and bathroom are mancleaned, and Maggie has had her afternoon stroll. I’m watching a little of the Slug/Ottawa game before work.

Enjoy you Saturday!

Happy birthday, Taters!

Uh, yeah. I’m at the library again. Stoopid me forgot to look at the other county’s library system while I was here yesterday, and I also forgot to do my online banking (no local branch of my beloved credit union). :smack: :smack: :smack: Found two new listings that are a LOT closer to my new house than the place that called me up yesterday, and, because it’s a county-run system, I’m going to have to make absolutely sure that the anal-retentive gnomes got the number and letter combinations right when I wrote down the job numbers today. I swear to you that the last position I applied to was copied down meticulously, and I got a response for a very different wrong position. :frowning: If it doesn’t work out, I’m going back to temping until something opens up in my county.

Acid Lamp and I are going to the A[sub]lpha[/sub]B[sub]et[/sub]C[sub]heese[/sub] Liquor store to get some supplies for tomorrow’s housewarming party; after all, you can’t have a party without beerverages, and I forgot to get some beer for the chili when I went grocery shopping.

The Garmin has not gotten me lost today, as I’ve gone this way before. Thank goodness; I thought I was going to be on a “lost with no hope of ever returning home” streak for a while.

Home from planting stuff at church, now off to library for a few minutes, then into MY garden, finally.

Well, I just got told to “fuck off” by another poster in a game thread. Who’d a thunk it? I told them to take their RL issues somewhere else or get a sub.

Not much going on here; Mr. SCL is building my bookshelves and I’ve been forcing myself to work on a cross-stitch piece. It’s 12 panels, one per month, and I’m up to September and hate the design on this one. It’s taking me forever to finish it because I know I’m not going to like it when it is done.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. And before I forget:

Happy Birthday, Taters!!!

My sweetie is home and showered. Supper has been et - ham w/pineapple, Italian green beans with onions, and crinkle-cut fries baked in the oven. Very healthy and very yummy. My clay stuff is still too wet to work, so I covered everything and shut the door for the night. I may do a load or 2 of wash, but mostly I’m done for the evening.

Tomorrow will be the back-breaking day - moving furniture. woo. hoo. rah.

I need dessert. Who delivers chocolate??

Boat pics - this is the evolution that I don’t like to watch. We’ve had boats of various sizes and types for 23 years and it still makes me nervous when they have to come out. We’ll take more pics as the work gets done.

Wow - nice boat. Makes me want to go sailing instead of just puttputtin around on a pontoon boat.

FCM the boat looks so jake!

Snakes I have never understood how people get into such a snit over games. What an idjit!

Supper’s been et, Joedawg has been dined and pooped. He is currently holding court on the living room sofa. Ok, for some reason, he’s taken a liking to layin’ on an arm of the sofa today. I am continuing my strict regimen as his nanny by insisting he get lots of treats, tummy rubs, ear skritches, sofa and lap time. Discipline is the key to being a good nanny after all.

I think shortly we shall all retire to the bedroom for Britcoms. I’m gettin’ sleepy so I’m bettin’ on being in snoozeland before nine tonight. I am such a wild man!

I am impressed on the strict discipline that you have imposed upon Joe Dawg, swampy.

Cool boat, FCM.

Wow, SCL, I can’t believe anyone could get so worked up about a game. (Well, I can, but I don’t understand it.)

I moved some black-eyed susans, planted two coneflowers and one coreopsis, and about 7 containers with flowers. When I started, I thought I was going to have to go buy more plants for containers - everything seemed really blah - but I moved some stuff around and found combinations I like.

Found some really nice begonias for very cheap at Marc’s (a discount grocery store). Haven’t seen many fancy begonias this year and there they were for less than $5 apiece. I got 6 (one of each variety they had).

Guess I should go clean up and maybe do laundry or something productive.

Crappy router has been returned. Good router has been bought and hooked up. So that’s the wireless dealt with. However, I have a weird problem with my laptop’s power supply–it only recognizes that it’s plugged in sometimes. I guess that means I have to get a new one of those, too.
