Sorry you’re at the puking stage, LiLi; I have no helpful advice for you, unfortunately, because I made it through pregnancy without it. Hang in there!
Good thoughts headed Maggie’s way, CanineServant! Keep us posted on how her surgery goes, obviously.
Is VunderWife going to have both knees done at once, Bobbio, or one at a time? In any case, give her my best wishes for soon becoming a member of the bionic club!
Lapin Blanc is indeed enjoying her dogwashing job, gt. She hasn’t heard back from the bookstore, unfortunately. Hey, it’s THEIR loss! But dogwashing is pretty physically strenuous, so she’s having to get used to that since she has limited stamina to begin with. The cute puppies do help a lot, though.
I think I’m sufficiently caffeinated now to be functional this morning. Although I woke up from what seemed to be a very, VERY lengthy dream about cleaning and sorting out my WHOLE house. Except that my kids were little again so I had little kid stuff scattered everywhere. It was such an exhausting dream I almost needed to take a nap to recover from it!
Speaking of dog washing, we had to wash Ernie last night. He came in from the backyard and REEKED of something nasty. Not poop, though. I finally figured out (around 10 pm- bedtime) that the drip can from under the propane grill must have spilled on the grass when hubby moved it. Yuk!!!
I laid a chair on it and will soak it down when I get home.
Did I miss something? Why is Maggie getting surgery? Good vibes sent…
I had a scary dream last night. There was a HUGE tornado knocking down buildings near my workplace. My workplace looked oddly like the George R. Brown Convention Center, however… too weird.
I’m tahred! Shortly after I posted this mornin’, I started mowin’, edgin’, weed whackin’ etc… See, it was kinda coolish (only 62 Amurrkin at 7:00 A.M.!) and dry, so I thinks to myself, get a move on. So, my yard and three others are now all done. I’m all showered and cleaned and have antibiotic gunk on my knees. Which, by the way, are lookin’ much better. Hopefully the booboos will be pretty much healed in a couple days.
LiLi ick on the pukin’! There are two things I absolutely hate when they happen, pukin’ and hiccups. I’m told ginger ale and crackers help. But what do I know.
BioRosie hope things are goin’ ok for ya. I’m thinkin’ about ya.
Rebo I lurve all kinds of spaghetti sauce recipes. I like playin’ with a spaghetti sauce whilst cookin’ one, thus, I don’t think I’ve ever made it the same way twice, but it’s always good. It’s one of those almost can’t go wrong things.
Bobbio, when VunderWife becomes BioWife, how will you cope bein’ the spouse of a superhero?
That’s just it. You’d EXPECT ancient stuff like that at a non-profit food bank that probably runs it on a donated PC running Windows 95. Not at a mega-billion dollar bank. It’s just staggering how many ancient little niche things we have out there that resist modernization.
li-li, when such things mattered to me, I found peanut butter toast settled my stomach better than anything else. Also, I read a theory that said that when you are pregnant, ALL of your cells are being bombarded with pregnancy hormones, including your stomach cells. Apparently the hormones don’t mix well with stomach acids which are more abundant when your stomach is empty…hence, morning sickness. So, small meals often is a good way to combat the problem. Mine went away after the first trimester.
{{{rosie}}}} Hang in there. It’s almost Thursday.
Good vibes going out to maggie as well. Let us know how she does.
I know I shouldn’t go there, but just why have you been keeping notes on your pooping? I mean, when I was going in for my knee surgery, one of the docs Papa Tigs works with immediately sat down and wrote down the names of everything I should take to get my system moving again afterwards (fortunately, I didn’t need any of it cause his list was really gross!), so obviously there are times when just the fact that you’re doing it matters to some people. But to keep track of it? Huh?
We’re supposed to get thunderstorms this afternoon. Which is good because it got warm enough I just had to close up the house and turn on the AC. It’s probably the only day for the next week I’ll have to since it’s supposed to cool down nicely when the front goes through, but in the meantime I’ll probably have a nervous dog trying to climb in my lap all evening.
This morning I caught Ernie peeing on the floor, and quickly scooped him up and chastised him and put him outside. “Outside to go potty!” Later, he stood by the door (asking to go out?), I let him out, and he went out and pooped! Yay for smart puppies! I told him he was a good boy.
He pooped and peed yesterday when I didn’t see him. Ya have to catch them in the act, or the training doesn’t take as well.
I am SO BUMMED right now! I just learned that CBS has canceled Jericho for next season. Yes, it’s a completely wretched show, but it’s a completely wretched show that is nevertheless incredibly addicting, and it was basically killed by CBS by first splitting the season and then putting it up against American Idol! And they even left it on a stupid cliffhanger! They’d at least better have a 2-hour movie and wrap up some of the loose ends. For the first time in my life, I just called a network to complain!
For the record, it was my meatballs that were awesome. The sauce was too, but it was straight from the kitchen of Paul Newman, into my microwave, and onto the table.
Sean, are prunes involved? Cause, you know, I’m an expert on poop and prunes [see above]. And, of course we want to know. You’ve gone and made us curious and we can’t let that situation just … linger. Also, there is a product called Colon Cleanse which, despite the name, is just powdered fiber a la Metamucil. I just love the name. Straight and to the POINT. It makes me laugh.
We’re home from the hospital. Maggie has stitches and a shaved shoulder. She’s giving me that look that says “You are on The List” I should hear back on the biopsy in a week, and the stitches come out in two weeks. She’s supposed to take it easy, not a problem since she is usually a canine shaped lump.
Rebo, good luck with the potty training. Maggie had some sort of tumor on her back, so we had it(and a chuck of cash) removed today.
**Sean[b/], whats’ getting weird, the listing or the poop? And how weird?
No prunes were injured during the making of this anecdote.
It’s just that Sunday, my poop started feeling like I was trying to pass a summer squash. They seemed to be just a little too wide for the exit, if you get my meaning. This went on for three days. Today things are as smooth as ever.
I was just keeping track in case I ended up having to go talk to someone about it. Like a doctor, or an Internet message board.
Glad to hear Maggie came through the surgery fine, DB. Some doggie treats ought to get you off the List.
Rosie, you are in my thoughts; hope you are settling in well and that Smokey is at least giving you room to breathe. She’ll make it all better; cat hair is medicinal, you know.
I’m still cataloging books but the end is in sight. I have rearranged things so I should be able to put the books I haven’t read yet on a shelf instead of in an untidy heap.
