Oh, but the friend in question does know this, **gt. ** We’ve told him (nicely)that we really don’t appreciate it. He just chuckles and shrugs.
However, the friend in question can’t keep his damn trap shut about our weekend plans and then the brother calls and doesn’t ask if he can come; he just ASSUMES he can come and flat out will state, “Heard you’re having a party. What am I supposed to bring?”. Or, “Heard about the party, what time should I be there?”:eek:
Frankly, I don’t invite myself anywhere. I assume if the host/hostess wanted me there, he or she would have asked me. It would never cross my mind to do this and I just don’t understand it at all.
This guy has no social clues at all, but thinks he’s this well, world-traveled guy that has experienced all the finer things in life and knows EVERYTHING better than everyone else. He’s done it bigger and better too.
It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t try to dominate the entire conversation, would just SHUT THE HELL UP, and wasn’t so fucking loud, and finally, he makes playing our little card game a real drag because he holds everyone up.
Ah, I try and try and try to like him, but I just can’t. He irritates me too much. If it wasn’t our friend’s birthday, and the fact that I’m responsible for picking up the steaks, I’d say screw it and not go.
…and yes, I know I get pissed when my friends cancel last minute, but you know what? I’m entitled to ONE damn cancellation in three years. I won’t do it today though, but only because it’s a birthday celebration.
