I nearly had Korean style chili, as Alex Catt tried to leap up onto the kitchen counter, and into the pot.
I have achieved cake and coleslaw. Go Me! I have decided to add a hash brown casserole to the menu for tomorrow. It was meant to be. I opened da freezer and a bag of frozen hash browns fell into my hand. Fate, I say, FATE! Sheets are in the dryer and a load of undies is in the washer. I am a productive bear this mornin’!
Yawn. Very rainy and cold today. Don’t wanna do anything. Tonight we’re supposed to go out to a haunted house. But first, the company that does escape rooms here in Bangor asked us to test their mobile room for the convention this weekend. I am determined, this time. We have never succeeded in any of this company’s rooms.
Tomorrow we actually already had plans to go do the escape rooms in Waterville, followed by seeing a friend of ours perform in Young Frankenstein. So there will be much brains and much laughter this weekend. If I can make it through the next five hours of sitting at my desk.
It’s All Halloween, all weekend at my house. The Littles are going to the trick or treat at the park tonight, and all three are going to the downtown Scare on the Square tomorrow evening. Monday, Miss 6 will dress as a story book character for school, and we may or may not do traditional trick or treat Monday night. (Probably, though. But that requires driving to another neighborhood, because we live on a country road with only 3 occupied houses and a well-drilling company.)
In between all of the excitement, I gotta finish loading up the trailer for my opening inventory at the new business. Yeehaw! We shall D.B.A. The Old and the Beautiful. That was The Fellow’s choice among the names I presented to him… I guess 'cause he’s old and I’m beautiful? At any rate, it will be a fun framework for social media/advertising - using melodramatic soap opera clichés and such.
So these are the days of my life.
butters, tablet cases tend not to be brand specific, just size specific. The cheapo that you find for $5 at Big Lots will fit it, as well as the $30 one from Wally World or Tar-jay. I have a 10" Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet and use one that can be used easel style (you likely won’t get that with the $5 one), is well padded and zips up.
It looks like I’ll be out of here ~1:30, as the people that I need to contact are gone until Monday. Yay, weekend!
Food prep for tomorrow and laundry are both all done. Go Me! This has been a definitely domesticated day for da bear. Tomorrow we shall venture out to buy beer cause, well, hey, beer and bbq go together. No plans for candy beggars here as this is not a good area for that bein’ rural and all. Tuesday is All Saint’s/Cheap Chawklit Day so there’s that to look forward to celebratin’.
You’re saying there are wild animals in the woods, like bears?
Elisha, things like that?
I ate all the Halloween candy I’d bought. But since I live in a 55+ complex, I’m not likely to get trick-or-treaters.
Howdy, Has been an interesting day to say the least but all’s well that ends well. I brought the tablet to work and did a hard start and lo and behold the make, model was right there. It is a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 inch. Case that I bought was sent back and new one ordered.
Red We do not have a Target, Big Lots, wally world down here at the end of the world so I ordered from the Amazon. I took the one that did not fit to the PO and have already rec’d credit. Love Amazon.
y’all wish me luck please running the shuttle. I have a big bus, two little ones and a van. And of course rain is in the forecast.
Happy Firday!!
We have partaken of suppage and are now in chill mode. All is well. I took stock and I feel I have more than enough to feed eight people tomorrow. What we down here in the southern U.S. of A. call a gracious plenty.
Butters good luck tomorrow. Hope things run smoothly all day and, well, better you than me.
Mebbe you’ll end up on TV
Looks purdy; but it’s a good two hours away; mebbe if they have a long trail race I’d end up there.
I know you & the OW attend GayBingo. Saw an ad in the Philly alt-weekly; prehaps you should come East this weekend
Whatever are you talking about?
Fibber McGee’s freezer???
Say Hello to Abby for me.
Gotta clean out & recharge the cameras; 500 pics & an hour or so of video today; then an engagement in the morning. No, not mine. I am so backed up on videos; still haven’t gotten last week’s started yet.
I have to be careful when I cook now. The new cat is right there snooping and begging for handouts. I suppose if he jumps up onto the hot stove once he won’t do it again.
I bought a universal lid for all the skillets that don’t have lids.
He is the shittingest/pissingest cat I’ve ever seen.
I might name him Max. He kind of looks like a Max.
I don’t know.
Step daughter’s (v.2.0) cat would stand behind me when I foraged in the refrigerator. I once back up and stepped on one of the hollow ice cubes the machine made. When I heard the crunch, I thought, “OH MY G-D, I STEPPED ON THE CAT’S FOOT!”
Many years ago, my cat Siegfried would sit atop a gas space heater to survey his realm. Unbeknowst to him one time in the Fall, it was lit. Ever after that harrowing encounter, even in Summer, he would reach a tentative paw out and gingerly tap the top of the heater to see if it was safe.
I believe that Maimonides (sp) would have something to say about that, if he knew about Halloween.
Our cat, Scooter, got onto the stove as a wee kitten an burned off her whiskers. She learned not to get onto the stove anymore at a very young age.
I don’t know, rosie, when I worked in a retirement community in college, most of the kids in town knew that the grannies and papas there doled out some good treats.
I voted today. When I got home, my patio was cleaner than when I left, but the compost explosion was all over my walkway (again!). It seems that the day labor that the maintenance guy hired was told to use the leaf blower to clean the patios messed up yesterday. He missed. :smack:
I stopped and took pics of a cottonfield I pass on the way to/from work that looks ready to harvest (but then, what do I know? I’m a damnyankee). We don’t grow much around here, but this is part of an historic plantation nearby. I really want to see the harvest.
Supper tonight was takeout from a local BBQ/soulfood place that was recommended. I got the mixed plate with turnip greens and mac and cheese. It was huuuge (and tasty)! I will be eating from this for a few meals.
“Scooter” strikes me as an excellent name for a cat.
Survived part 1 of Halloween. Have offered tomorrow night’s outing as the carrot - the stick is that the playroom must be tidied up before we can go downtown. Sunday we shall tackle bedrooms, in exchange for Monday trick or treating.
In other news, the 4-year-old likes her queen costume just a leetle too well. Within minutes of donning her dress, she was asking for her “royal shoes,” and reminding her sisters to bow before speaking to her.
Also, I now have social media and an email address for the business. And I fixed the dishwasher. Again. (Ask me why one should never purchase a Samsung dishwasher. The clothes washer and dryer are awesome. The phones are dandy. The dishwasher sucks in a thousand ways.)
But that would mean missing ours and the girls at the tranny table would miss us. And I would miss their Halloween cookies. And they have the BEST cookies.
Good party tonight. It was so darn good having the old gang together ( 4 other people who left The Jungle came) that I forgot for the most part to drink. I only had two beers. Doggio and my mothers entire side of the family will be so ashamed.
You would if I lived there!
