A Charitable MMP

Thanks, guys–I firmly believe it was all the good thinkies coming my way that made it go so well!

Swampy, your first item of homework is to find out whether AT&T uses CDMA, TDMA or GSM service, and to be able to tell what the major differences are between the three types of cellphone service. If you know this, you will be a wonder and an amazement to your trainers when you start. I can tell you right now that phonescoop.com is your new best friend–if you want to learn a whole shitload of stuff about cellphones and various types of technology used by the different companies that’s your go-to place. Now that you’ve gone to check that out–which network type does AT&T use, which does Verizon use and which does Sprint/Nextel (Sextel?) use? And of the major carriers (which are the above named three plus T-Mobile) which carrier has phones that will be the most compatible with the AT&T network?

Heh heh, let’s see if he can do this after beervages…

I had chicken seizure sammiches for dinner and they were nom–then a chunk of brownie for dessert. I made the Joy of Cooking Brownies Cockaigne recipe but all my 9 x 13 pans were dirty so I used an 8 x 11 glass pan and when I pulled them out after the proper length of time cooking and cooled them for a half hour I discovered they were still way too goopy inside so I bunged them back in for another fifteen mins or so. They came out good, astonishingly enough, which shows ta go ya that’s a bulletproof recipe! Not even too crispy on the edges, mirabile dictu…

Tomorrow the Grandboy comes over to help me whack giant sticks into smaller sticks–I joked via SMS to my daughter that I was going to give him a chainsaw for the project and she almost had a heart attack before she noticed the smiley… You’d think she’d realize by now that I’m pretty much always yanking her chain, wouldn’t you?

Yeah, FCM, how come SIL is still un-Jebused? C’mon, we need the vicarious entertainment, things are too quiet around here!

Worked, watched hockey, worked more, Cane win. More work tomorrow.

Good luck, Smartie!

Hey all, my daughter and I made it to my parent’s and are having a great time. My internet time has been drastically reduced, but other than that we are having a wonderful time. I spoke with my grandma today and will be spending some time with her, and I am supposed to get in touch with bio-dad and arrange a get together with him. The latter causes me more than a bit of trepidation, but I suppose the motto of the ordeal must be “Face My Fear”. Positive MMPer thoughts, prayers, vibes would be greatly appreciated.

I haven’t even skimmed, and I must now hie myself to the table, where I will attempt to beat my dad in a game or two of cribbage. Wish me luck, he’s a whiz at cards!

So, are you saying you’re in Seattle,** kai?** If so, I’m about 30 to 40 minutes south of you down here in Puyallup.

I have to leave in a few to pick my daughter up from work. I guess I’ll check in tomorrow.

Why am I awake so early on a saturday???

**Pie **- ditto, 'cept I know why I’m up. Once I get up to pee, that’s it. So the rest of the household is dead to the world, and here I sit, awake. <sigh>

Regarding SIL, my temper had cooled considerably by the time the fambly dinner came around, so all I ended up doing was giving him specific guidance about taking over trashman duties in the house. However, yesterday, he started pushing my pissed-off buttons again. I asked him to do 2 things before I left on my errands - 2 things that would take all of 15 minutes start to finish, including cleanup. He did neither till I specifically told him again.

How do you teach someone to take some initiative? Sheesh!

I wonder if it was a mistake to leave the windows open - I’m sitting here wrapped in an afghan feeling a cool breeze float past. But it’s supposed to get near 80 today, so I’m not closing up. I’ll just suffer, as is my lot in life <insert deep, sad, long-suffering sigh>

I can has breakfast??

TVMan and I are eating cookies.

I’m up early because I need to be over at the school where I’m volunteering at 7:30. I figure to get enough caffeine in, and maybe eat a bite before I leave at 7:00 am. I’m really excited to learn how to make these elevated gardens. I want to build an herb garden that the dogs won’t trample.

Why isn’t a king size bed big enough for two adults and a little dog? All night long I kept scooching down in a corner, because Ernie kept sleeping on my head and Mr Rebo kept encroaching into MY space. <yawn>

I believe your bed is misplaced, Rebo. You see, there’s a specific place within any given room where everyone is supposed to sleep. Unfortunately, the bed can’t be placed such that everyone can sleep where they should, so they wind up scrunched into one corner of the bed. Dunno why anyone ever bothers to buy more than a twin bed. I blame mattress companies.

No, I’m not yet awake.

But I’ma paint anyway.

Hi kai! Glad you made it there safely.

Off to find breakfast. Sadly, no cookies in the house.

GT

I’m still awake but going back to bed soon.

That’s when you get as close to Mr. Rebo as you can and take some of your space back by “snuggling” of course. :stuck_out_tongue:

Decided we are heading up north today. I think I’m feeling good enough. Will have very limited internet access.

Homework on Saturday? Dang! SmartiePants I’ll go do all that after I get back from town. Ima go to the store to get some ingredients I need for seven layer sallit in a bit.

Herbs you’re even older than MOOOOOOM! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, need to get to the sto so’s I can get back, make a sallit and nanner puddin’ and sigh do homework.

Well, geez did everybody decide to go get productive? I went to the sto’ and got what I needed. Sallit is now made. Nanner puddin’ makin’ to commence shortly.

Speakin’ of which, have I mentioned lately that ol’ y’all know who is a spoiled brat? He thinks that when I make the puddin’ there’ll be a little container of it leftover just for him. Humph! How presumptuous! Of course there will be cause there always is, but how dare he presume! Rotten spoiled child!

Off to work shortly, but I got the Don Wannas.

I think i would like a double king-sized bed. That might be enough space for me, Mr. Lissar, two cats, and the baby. Maybe.
Almost afternoon, everyone. Trying to persuade my cranky tired child to have a nap, nd lazily getting ready for two days at work and Thanksgiving dinner tonight.

I’m awake after my nap and TVMan wants to know what’s for lunch. I’m *not quite *that awake yet to figure it out.

I’m up and the coffee is brewing. I’m not awake, but I’m up. There’s a difference. I didn’t sleep well and I don’t know why.

Tonight we’re going to some friends’ house for another 99 shindig. Frankly, I’m all 99’d out, but they had such a great time at house last weekend, they wanted to do it again.

I’m gonna check on my coffee.

What a loverly morning. We were woken up by a combination of sunshine and hungry cats (OK, fine… mostly hungry cats, but it was also wonderfully sunny). The Boy was nice enough to take care of feeding the ingrates, so that I could snuggle under the covers for a while longer.

Since it’s probably the last nice weekend we’ll have for a while, we decided to hop on our bikes and take a jaunt down to the farmer’s market for some goodies. I got many compliments on my bike, as usual, and probably made a sale or two for the shop where I bought it last year (honestly, they oughta give me commission for all the customers I send their way after singing the praises of my super-comfy cruiser bike). Managed to snag ourselves a couple of interesting-looking squash, some blue fingerling potatoes, fresh crusty bread and a chunk of Mennonite summer sausage. Nom nom nom.

I made some brekkie when we got home, and now we’re lingering over the last of the coffee and poring over the flyers to see if there are good deals to be had. There’s some Ben Folds on the stereo, the cats are curled up in a cozy sunny corner, and all is well with the world.

Why can’t every day be like this? I could happily spend the rest of my life just like this.

Rough night on the ambulance. I’m trying to decide if it’s tale material.

Gotta go inspect my eyelids for pinholes.

Break time. I started out doing a quick bit of painting - second coat on baseboards, first coat on the last door. We’ve been in the basement finishing the outlet installation. I’ve done some laundry, and we’ve tidied a bit. We left everything open so daughter’s idiot cat could wander freely, but she’s a wuss. The slightest loud noise, and she bolts for the bedroom. And unlike Taz, she won’t come for skritches. Instead, she flops down on the floor, expecting you to come to her. Brat.

Scruffy is most definitely deaf. I came up to find her curled up in a sunbeam by the dining room door. I stepped over her, slid the door open, and stepped back, and she never moved. Some watchdog, huh? That’s OK, Bernie may be old, but she’s noisy when stray squirrels or leaves move in her yard.

After our break, we’re going to install the kitchen cabinets. Then, maybe we’ll be able to rough-cut the countertops. Plus I have at least 2 more load of laundry. No idea when the kids are getting back from Crownsville, but they do have a pretty day for Faire-ing. We expect the same for the sailboat show tomorrow. Yay!
