A-choo! The MMP

CVS is weird. I called last week because I was getting to the end of my generic lipitor and, like a dummy, I’d tossed the tag that had my prescription number. The tech I spoke to said I wasn’t due for a refill till April 29. That made no sense - I know I didn’t lose a month’s worth of pills. But I still had enough for a week, so she said to call back later and they’d figure it out.

I just got a robo-call from CVS saying that prescription was due to be refilled and did I want it. So it’ll be ready for me tomorrow. I have no idea what the tech was looking at, but I don’t care, I won’t run out, and that’s what matters. But it’s still weird.

Kittehs have an appointment tomorrow for their shots - they’re way overdue, but since they never go outside, unless Taz escapes for a few seconds, I’m not too worried. The trick will be getting Ziva into the crate without drawing (my) blood. I should get the crate out today so she can get used to seeing it.

Still flurrying, but it seems to be melting as soon as it hits, which is good.

Well, I should be having an interesting weekend- I have work securitatin’ at a zombie run for three days this weekend. It’s an hour’s drive away in another city I don’t know well, but everyone’s still going on about when they did this last year, 'cos apparently it was really fun.

Only downside is I’m driving down with my least favourite co-irker, plus I’m going to be irking the Rugby on sunday at 1pm despite the fact I’ll be finishing the previous shift, an hour’s drive away, at 3 that morning. Rugby securitatin’ doesn’t involve a lot of thinking though, so it should be OK. Besides, I need the money after not irkin’ this week.

I also just got alerted to the need for money 'cos I happened to bump into someone from the bee group who let me know the group auction is in a few weeks, and there should be a load of kit going.

Apparently they’re now up to 5 babbeh lemurs  While I like babbeh lemurs a lot, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing- I think we may need to introduce them to the concept of family planning soon…

Happy Tuesday, since I missed Monday. Grandma’s memorial service was nice, even if Catholicism as a whole frightens me. The priest was a tiny Asian man with a thick accent who had clearly never met my grandmother, and turned his little talk about her into a whole sermon about how it’s the parents’ responsibility to see to their children’s religious needs and bring them to church. He managed to bring it back around to Gram at the end, but it was still pretty weird. Made worse by the fact that he sounded like the worst stereotypical immigrant. Poor guy.

My paternal grandmother came to pay her respects, and I actually felt bad, like I was rubbing my still-living Grandma in the faces of all my other cousins. But my Grandma is so damn adorable that it’s impossible to be mad at her anyway.

I took a second bereavement day because you get three for the death of a grandparent. I feel only slightly guilty that so far today I have slept late, gone food shopping, and folded laundry. These are all important things, and Gram taught me that you’re supposed to take care of your home, or something. I totally made that up. But nobody at work knows that.

I should do something else useful before my afternoon nap, like vacuum and generally spiff the place up in case of showings. Maybe after I finish my second cup of coffee.

Are you securitatin’ at 2.8hrs Later?

Just popped a pan of gingerbread in the oven. I’m not sure how well it will come out - I was trying to soften the butter and instead of hitting 5 seconds on the microwave, I hit 5 minutes. I caught it after 40 seconds, so it was pretty liquid, but I used it anyway, so it didn’t beat up light and fluffy when I added the brown sugar. It should still taste OK, right?

Irk is livin’ up to its name. Ok people are irkin’ and livin’ up to what appears to be their sole purpose in life, irkin’ da bear. Anywho, N.O.L. has been et and more paperirk stuff awaits. ICK!

{{{BBBobbio}}} sorry about the loss of your favorite Chem teacher. It’s always sad to lose a good one. Kind of hard to imagine the world without 'em ain’t it.

Ok, back to irk. Le sigh.

Home from house hunting and I found the one I want YAY!

It’s not in Hagerstown, it’s not old and it’s a rancher on a half acre. last house on a dead end street that ends at the … well. I was looking at this nice big field and thinking gee I hope whoever owns that never wants to sell it for development, it’s so nice and pretty … and then I saw off a little ways all the little vases with all the little flowers and realize the house is right next to the … cemetery.
At least the neighbors on that said will be quiet, or at least I hope so.
Must have been the say for cemeteries because the other house I looked at today was across the street and a little bit down from a huge cemetery, the old kind with real tombstones instead of markers, and the house is right next door to the place that sells and carves the tombstones.

I hope this isn’t some kind of sign or something.

So I didn’t put an offer in today because the house needs a little work and I have to get an estimate before I can make an offer, so I am busy trying to set that up. The repairs I can see are minimal, so I hope it won’t be too bad.

Cross your fingers for me!
So it’s snowing and has been but the roads were clear except for a few places up near Hagerstown, but even then it wasn’t bad. Now that I am home it is really coming down.

Time to do the laundry, we’ll get pizza later.

My building is across from a cemetery. It’s a popular one. Folks are dying to get in there.

She who would pun would pick a pocket.
It is not even a pun, it is a vile clench.
:dubious:

That’s right Rosie! Sari and you can say folks are dyin’ to be your neighbors!

flytrap are you plotzin’?

Oh and howdy from da cave. Got the beast roast settin’ out to get warmed up in a bit. Lima beans and cornbread shall complete tonight’s dindin. Should be good!

I heard they won’t bury anyone within the grounds that lives closer than 5 miles to the front gate.

'Cuz they’re not dead yet.

Youse peoples are SICK!!

**sari **- yay for the house - hope everything can happen quickly and you can get it.

I finally finished the afghan, with just a few yards of yarn to spare, so huzzah! Snow, such as it was, has stopped. The gingerbread is mega-yummy, despite the melty butter. Supper will be hamburger helper because I’m feeling lazy about cooking.

It’s 36° and still gloomy. Who stole spring???

What’s your point? :dubious:

No, my ancestors are generally from England and France.

England AND France? I thought they hated each other

Dysfunctional families.

I hereby call this as the last snow of the season.

Can a snowbringer be a snowbanner too?

Higgs, frolicking.

Daffodils.

Stoopit snow.

Higgs is either happy or thinkin’ “dang! I gotta pee and get outta this!”

Dindin is et, dishes are washed, OYKW is at his place dealin’ with paperirk, poor thing and da bear is feelin’ tahrd but mellow. It’s supposed to get all the way down to 31 Amurrkin tonight accordin’ to the weather PTB. This is not acceptable.

flytrap does your family get together on occasion to invade each other?

Higgs was returning from barking at whatever vehicle drove down the side road, daring to pass near her yard. She’s insane.

I think it’s time to decide on a new project and choose the yarn. MWAH!!
