Swampy, it was 36° & snurrying when I went for a run; I was in tights cause nekkid was just too cold.
Gottie, hope you backed every thing up, multiple different places, just to be safe.
Called to make an appt for phone repair; first one was tomorrow between 8am & 8:15 PM (ugh, way to narrow it down guys!). Came home & there was a note on the door - was here & fixed your phone. :smack:
It’s STILL snowing here in Montgomery County. We had 0 inches on the road, 1 inch on the grass, and 3 inches on my car–it took me 10 minutes to clean it up enough after work to drive home. C’mon, spring!
Did anybody else get a $40 Kindle credit from Amazon today as part of some kind of class action settlement? I’ve gotten a couple of things like this before that never amounted to more than $3, but I could actually buy something with this! The question now is what. Hmmm. . .
When I was in college, one late May, the founder of Froot of the Loom, or Vicki’s Secret, or one of those died, so the morning show on the radio held the “Undy 500” in their honor a ½ mile race (around the park, during morning rush hour) in his honor. Yup, underwear & running shoes.
I proudly participated!
We were coming home tonight & I could feel my sugar dropping; I needed something to eat, & fast. We stopped at Mickey D’s - 5 mins later I felt so much better & so much worse…at the same time! I didn’t know that was possible.
There isn’t much time between irk & class on Thurs evening, so dinner has been Mickey D’s; in the car; finished by the second light. I don’t think I can eat that stuff again in 48 hrs…& there’s no pizza joints before I get on the expressway.
It may rain tonight. One of the online five-day forecasts even shows a little lightning bolt coming out of the little black rain cloud. But I do not care because THE GATE IS FINISHED. It is up. It has been primed and has two coats of outdoor-appropriate paint that has had more than three days to dry. Let it rain.
Well, we still have to install the concrete strip to keep the dogs from digging, but rain won’t hurt that.
Not only is the gate up, I’ve met a couple of deadlines at work, I got the estate inventory and disbursal list (with questions) to the lawyer, and the doctor called to reschedule, so I’m out from under the blood test deadline, too. When deadlines clump up, I start to see everything as a deadline. It’s probably why I’ve been away for awhile. But the gate is finished. (The heritage tree removal permit ['cause it’s cracking my foundation] is still pending, but the gate is finished.)
We’re talking great and great great grandparents who were from Europe.
They identified with Tennessee, Missouri, and depending up who my paternal Grandfather was speaking to, Georgia or Alabama.
My nurse at the wound care center had a house inspection at the house she wanted to buy–first bad sign was the “We cut your power for non-payment” sticker on the front door when they walked up. It went down hill from there, with the bottom being the disintegrating main beam, complete with squirming termites. The home inspector suggested one thing “RUN”.
The sellers had another showing show up while the abbreviated inspection was going on. Note that the house WAS under agreement.
My Nurse was NOT AMMUSED.
Sorry for your loss, BBBobbio, it’s tough to think these folks won’t be around forever.
I am at irk, so far it is not irksome but I’ve only been here for less than half an hour…and tomorrow will be particularly irksome as my PC is being upgraded to windoze 7 which means after that, everything will go horribly wrong.
At least it’s hump day, and I have the pub to look forward to later!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 37 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 59 for the day. I am not amused. Supposed to get up to 70 tomorrow then in the higher 70s Firday and Sattidy with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted.
So y’all do get together from time to time to invade each other then.
Alien yikes! That house should be nuked from outer space.
Yeller welcome back. Yay for finished fence!
Chizz yay for unexpected loot!
Spidey MickeyD’s always makes me regret it afterward, but sometimes I just gotta have it.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le sigh.
Higgs must have heard my early morning potty break, because she started scratching on her crate and whining at 6, so I got up with her. Dumb dog. Temp’s in the 20s, and it’s windy, but clear. I don’t know if it’ll get warm enough to melt any of the snow today, but tomorrow, it will.
Big item on today’s agenda is getting the cats to the vet. No biggie with Taz, but potential major hassle with Ziva. Last time we did this, she clawed me in a couple of places (not out of mean, but out of desire to escape) and I bled. Yesterday, I got the crate out and set it on the dining room table so she would see it and smell it. Not sure today how we’ll catch her, but I do know we’ll lock the bedroom door so she can’t hide under our bed.
I was going to do some laundry and hang it out today, but it’s too doggone cold, and we have sufficient clean garments, so I can wait till tomorrow. Speaking of running nekkid, I’m forced to mention the Cary Quad Nude Olympics, which were a big deal while I was at Purdue. I didn’t live in the quad, or on campus, for that matter, but there was always an article about it in the Exponent. However, the local gendarmes put a stop to it, so it only lives in legend - the legend being after the first snowfall of the season, participants would show up wearing only running shoes, and they’d race around the quad till only one remained. Ah, college…
**Spidey **- couldn’t you make a peanut butter sammich to take along, thereby avoiding McD’s? That’s what I’d do to avoid that nasty place.
Nothing terribly exciting on the docket for today. I would have paid good money for a 2 hour delay into irk this morning, but the snow/dusting/whatever did not cooperate, so now I have a very large sleepy blurf.
There’s snow on the ground and it looks windy out.
According to the weather app on my phone I am in Hagerstown, it’s 27 degrees and snowing.
I have a contractor set up for next Toosday, since the realtor is going to be out of town until Moonday. The contractor can’t show up before Saturday. So as long as somebody else doesn’t get a contract in before then we are good to go.
If they do I’ll just go with the one I was originally going with and be done with it.
On a good note the HFH took the hounds and went away for a few days. So I can do the happy dance! I got a full 8 hours sleep last night without the hounds waking me up.

**Vorlon ** obviously the sellers knew the inspection was going to to badly so they had to have a back up plan.
