A-choo! The MMP

It is not difficult. Generally, you get get to the same places by a more roundabout method.
For example, instead of right clicking a printer and selecting “properties”, you right click the printer, select “see what’s printing”. Then you are where you would be in XP if you just right clicked the printer. :Old Rolleyes: Click “printer” and “properties”.

Hear him!
Hear him!

I pee too much. Seriously, I couldn’t get to sleep until 4:50 last night because I had to keep getting up. My wife thought it was a UTI but the doctor said I was clean. Then he started awkward questions about how many sexual partners I’ve had recently, and how sure I was that the wife wasn’t “stepping out”. Eventually he diagnosed it as non-specific urethritis, and said maybe it’s as simple as drinking more water. Gah. Hope so.

…and tomorrow will be particularly irksome as my PC is being upgraded to windoze 7 which means after that, everything will go horribly wrong.

My update went badly in an unexpected way. It didn’t happen, despite the emails saying “Your migratiion is scheduled for TONIGHT”

Now I need to find a way to manually kick off the process or my computer will be banned from the network next Monday. ugh!

I know you all over there are a few seasons behind on Amurrikin TV, but a few revisions behind on software? Windows 8 has been the standard for 18 months

“The standard” for what?

Blurf. I has a touch of the creeping crud today- possibly 'cos today is the only day this week I have time to be ick.

Of course, my boss took the opportunity to call and ask me to do an overnight shift tonight, straight before a weekend of 3 ay emm finishes an hour’s drive away. I declined the offer.

Was going to do gardenny stuff today, but I just want to curl up bed and eat chocolate, so I ain’t gonna. Am eating up yesterday’s strawberry rhubarb crumble in leiu of chocolate. Still pretty good.

Mac People.
Most are avoiding Windows 8.

Back from the gym and erranding. Two more hours till I have to round up the cats for their trip to the vet. Good times… Ziva is already suspicious because our bedroom is locked. She was on top of the hutch giving me the stinkeye when we got home. I need some chain mail before I try to load her in the crate. Stoopit cat.

Oh, and it’s cold and windy out there. Stoopit weather.

Up and caffeinated, another late shift tonight. It’s 34 with a windchill of 25 out.

Sean, no, it doesn’t get old. :stuck_out_tongue:

So, if you don’t do extra irk this week to figger sumpin’ out that isn’t your job, then you get to do no irk next week? Sounds like a no-brainer to me!
Sean, Swampy gets old, but we keep 'im around anyway.

Waiting to hear back from doctor, I’m having some problems with the pills I’m taking.

I have to get signed up for the healthcare bullshit, which wouldn’t be a problem if the website worked. They sent me a little survey about how did I did I like the site, I doubt they liked my response. I told them their site sucks and whoever designed and implemented it is an idiot.
I’ve been trying for months to get registered and it keeps rejecting the form because it says I haven’t entered information that is sitting there in the little spaces where I entered it.
Then I went ans read the known issues and it says I have to enter my county even though the county isn’t marked as required except THERE IS NO PLACE TO ENTER THE COUNTY!!!

I used to work for the state, I’m not surprised.
When I worked for DOT on any given day after lunch pretty much the entire programming department was drunk and/or stoned.

I’m going to call the 800 number today. I wonder 1) if anybody will answer, 2) if they will be drunk or stoned 3) if they know what they are talking about

The university, blessings be upon it, claims that it has to roll out updates in batches because there are so many machines involved. As it’s my place of irk, I care very little since all I need is a functioning machine so I can do the horrible pile of stuff on the desk.

At home, however, we have spankingly up to date versions of everything we use (although we do not have any windows machines in the house) and we download all the telly we need so we’re even up to date with that!

(expletives expletives expletives)

So I try to (expletive) website again and it keeps telling my I have to enter my name
the name that is right there in the (expletive) square where I put it

so I call the (expletive) 800 number and it is (expletive) busy

finally I get through only to be told I need to call a different (expletive) number

so I finally get a person, I’m am now registered

(expletive) maryland bunch of incompetent (expletives)

I WAS in a good mood.

Doctor called and told me what i already knew, go see another type of doctor.
I don’t like doctors

Sounds like **sari **has a case of the Mondays on Wednesday…

Thirty minutes till I have to try to capture and crate Ziva. I am not looking forward to that exercise. She’s still on top of the hutch. But all of the bedroom doors are locked, so there’s that.

And it’s still sitting at freezing outside, and it’s very windy. Whoever stole spring, please bring it back!!

Good morning all and happy Wednesday. I had lab work done yesterday morning, where you have to fast for 12 hours ahead of time, so I was grumpy yesterday until I finally got some coffee and food.

Sorry that I’ve been so quiet lately although I do “partiipate” a bit more on facebook. I have been reading and following here, and you’re in my prayers, those who need to be (and you know who you are, I think).

The anti-anxiety/antidepressant med seems to be working for me! I know, it’s only been three weeks so far, but I haven’t felt so awful sad any more. It’s hard to describe how I was feeling, but the closest I can come would be like I had fallen in a well and couldn’t figure out how to get out. I haven’t been feeling like that.

Good luck with Ziva, FCM, and I hope the kittehs check up goes okay!

  1. is a convicted felon

I don’t envy you trying to catch and transport a cat.

Back in the olden days I had to transport my two dogs and two cats to the vet, and I didn’t have any carriers to do it. Dogs were leashed and cats were carried in one by one. I only got one nasty scratch.

The ride was fun though. The two dogs were sitting next to me on the seat, I had one cat on each shoulder, their claws digging in with each bump, stop, start and turn. Eventually one lost her balance and fell behind the seat. This upset the dogs, who were so concerned about her mewing back there that they kept pawing me on the arm and telling me to look behind the seat.

Amazingly, **FCD **got Ziva off the top of the hutch and was able to hold her without her fighting. She’s now crated, unhappy, but ready to go. As soon as I get myself a sweatshirt, I’ll crate up Taz and load them in the car, then head to beautiful, downtown Charlotte Hall.

So glad I can load the car in the garage - it’s still freekin’ cold out there!!!

Allie knows that we’re likely to have guests coming or something else she’ll be equally unhappy about if we close her out of the bedroom. Cats are very good at grasping such things.

Day off today, slept in, now waiting for husband to get home from school so we can get errands run.

OUR CAR IS OUT OF THE SHOP!!! So far as I can tell, all is well with the transmission, and we are now in possession of a wheel with hopefully good tire as a spare (hit a junkyard yesterday to acquire same).
