A-choo! The MMP

I don’t know how old you are, but could it be prostate-related?

Have you been very thirsty lately? I’m also worrying, based on history with family members, if you should be checked for diabetes.

I thought Win7 was the one everyone hated

That was before Windows 8.

When Microsoft quits supporting a version, as they just did with XP, most companies have little choice but to change.

That’s aged, not old. Especially since I think we’re only two or three years apart in age.

The camel thing is old - I’ve got to hear it every Wednesday morning when I come into work. 'Cause, you see, the camel says my IRL name. And the trolls in the office just laugh and laugh at that.

I liked 7. 8 can suck it, as far as I’m concerned. If I wanted “tiles,” I’d be using my iPad.

I am finding myself torn this week. I want people to come and look at my house so somebody will buy it and I can move. But I also want to sit on the couch in my pajamas and not have to go out or clean things. Being me is hard.

I got settlement monies from the Amazon Kindle antitrust doohickey. Talking with people at work and discussing how much we each got back, it is clear that I have A Problem. They all got ten or twelve bucks. I got one hundred and twenty-eight.

Bought a lot of books today, though.

Back from the vet. Kittehs are healthy and HEAVY! Taz is about eleven anna half pounds, Ziva is almost 14#!! That explains the pains when they walk on me. Taz was very vocal in his displeasure from when we went til we got home. Ziva suffered in silence. But she’s apparently not too traumatized - she’s sitting on the floor in the dining room. I was sure she’d hide under the bed for the rest of the day.

I’ll venture forth one more time today. **FCD **wants rotissed chicken for supper and the chickie in the freezer won’t thaw in time, so Food Lion will feed us. Plus I have to pick up my meds anyway, and CVS is across the street from Food Lion - two errands in one!

My baking pans arrived - they are very nice. I’m expected to bake cookies some time soon. Funny how that happens…

No, everyone hated Vista. Win7 is quite nice. I’ve not used 8, but I don’t like the whole touch-pad/smart phone approach. Even with Win7, I have my desktop configured the way it’s been for the last 10 versions or so. Classic works.

Glad the kitties are fine, Mooms. Hope phouka is still making hay. Hugs to VBob and congrats to Seanette on the car being home.

We got the rain late yesterday. Today it’s been sprinkling off and on.

I’m in the lower 48 and we’re still on 7. We usually wait an iteration or two and then skip ahead. For once, we’re up to date on AutoCAD, which is kind of surprising.

Congrats on the settlement, Draelin. You may have A Problem, but that problem is lots of books, so that’s all right. I’m re-listening to The Android’s Dream and enjoying it. Any book that starts out - “Dirk Moeller didn’t know if he could fart his way into a major diplomatic incident. But he was ready to find out.” - is worth a repeat listen.

Well, I am gray after all.

Spidey hope your day has gotten less sucky.

Those of you are sick, feel better. I read it all but can’t remember who and what.

Genius these days pullin’ an allnighter means I didn’t have to get up and go pee.

Herbs glad you’re feelin’ better.

Sari I helped somebody to navigate that website. We finally got her insurance stuff done and the first thing I did was have a beerverage or three to calm my nerves. JEEZ!

MOOOOOOM glad you avoided major cat-astrophe today.

In other news, I have a new goal in life. That is to be the bane of TPTB existence. I am bein’ pushy about how slow it is up the line to get new people started in trainin’. I have even pointed out to my boss’s boss’s boss where the problem always seems to be. Suddenly, a backlog of ten people waitin’ for approval cleared up and da bear is happily gettin’ all these folks started. Emails from the co-mes across the state and region are all about how all of a sudden this is happenin’. Word got out what I did. I always knew my true callin’ was to be somebody’s PITA.

Everything is … different. I guess I’ll get used to it, but for now, Win 7 is rather vibrant, even after I found and selected the “Classic” theme.

As for why it took until now to go to 7 - Until about lunchtime on Monday, I supported a curious little application whose administrative tool was incompatible with Win 7. Over the weekend, it became a mainframe app, so the ancient admin tool was no longer needed. (And there was much cheering)

gotti after much cheerin’ did the people feast?

Howdy from da cave! Glad to be home. I should venture out to the church house for Agape supper this evenin’ but I’s tahrd so I choose instead to stay in da cave and heathenate. Ok, make my version of Philly cheesesteaks usin’ the leftover from last nights beast roast. They ain’t exactly Philly style so to folks in Philly that might seem heathen, so we’ll just go with that.

So that I shall go forth and accomplish.

I fell asleep in the bus this afternoon because I was tired because I had a caffeine crash because I drank a lot of coffee this morning because I was extra-tired this morning because I’d stayed up late the night before because I was out taking selfies with Jian Ghomeshi.

My life is bizarre but I like it.

I always was a big fan of bizarre.

I’m cold and it’s not like me to be cold. I just put on some socks because my feet are so cold they hurt.

Well, you’re being a heathen by not going to church, so it’s appropriate* that you’re making heathen steaks.

  • No, it’s *never *appropriate to make heathen steaks!
PS I’ll be 3-4 miles from the home of the first steak sammich in a little while, which means I’ll be in Philly.

Irk sucked. I really need to find a new irk.

I got my first garden plant today. Its a cilantro. As soon as April comes, I’m going to the farmer’s market to get the rest of my pico de gallo garden. And chili powder. I will win the battle against the Thieving Squirrels this year.

Supper was early and yummy! Food Lion has 2 sizes of rotissed chicken, and the small one is just right for 2 of us with enough left over to boil up the carcass for soup. I was going to do that tomorrow, but what the heck - I started it tonight. I’m a rebel that way!

When we were out this morning, I got some yarn for the latest afghan. I was just going to use up my browns and tans, but there wasn’t nearly enough for a proper afghan, so I got 4 big skeins of earth tones that will work with my scraps. It’s made using 2 strands of yarn and a size N hook, which is pretty big. As a result, it makes up fast. Which is good.

Tonight will be spent afghaning and chilling. Wonder what’s on TV tonight??

Cool!

The not really cheesesteaks and oven fries were teh nummyiest. However, since we didn’t go do Agape soup ‘n sammich tonight this means I need to figure out sump’n for tomorrow night bein’ as not really cheesesteaks were goin’ to be tomorrow’s dindin. Somehow rotissed chikin seems like a good idea. Wonder who put that thought in my haid…

Oh crap, swampy’s figuring out that I’ve gotten into his head…
I mean, yes, rotissed chicken is an excellent idea!

I think I’m going to log off and crochet the night away. *** MWAH!!***
