A Cold and Frosty MMP

Making baked fried chicken with roasted potatoes and green beans. Going out to the VFW to celebrate the Marine Corp’s birthday.

At least it comes with a TP holder.

Cat Bowling

Supper was teriyaki poke chops, rice, and peas-n-carrots. The dishwasher is sloshing away and I’m about to assume the afghaning position to chill the evening away. We’ve closed up the house, since they’re promising 23°F overnight. I even asked **FCD **to close the window in the garage - it felt right nippy when I went out to toss some recycling. Usually it stays in the middle 40s at worst out there.

The pellet stove had been keeping things cozy, and we’re still using up the last of the leftover pellets from last year, so there’s still more than 3 tons sitting out there. Much warmth!

doggio, you never heard of half and half?

We finished packing and labeling the [del]crap[/del] stuff we’re taking with us to our first temporary digs. I didn’t get a lot done besides that and directing traffic. :stuck_out_tongue: Bought groceries, came home, walked Nelson and got ribs as takeout (Nelson gave them a 9.2). SIL and I may take off for Paris (TN) tomorrow.

Now for the chillage.

Mexican comestibles were consumed. Sis and I have happy tummies. Niece’s cat is helpin’ me make this post. Louis says xo3g70jz]’;

We’re barely above freezing - 34 degrees F and dropping. I’m not impressed, but I’m indoors, so I guess the outdoor temp doesn’t really matter, does it?

I’s tahred - I’ll be moseying back very soon. <yawn>

Well, got the last warrantied part in the heater unit replaced, so all is well (crosses fingers). parts cost nothing, but labor (only 1 year warranty on labor, 10 years for parts) cost me $400.00! The joy of home ownership…

Also got a message on how to fix my phone service, but before I tried it I got an incoming call and the dial tone has returned! Guess I scared the phone back into working. We shall see for how long.

Moooooom, 46F here in North Ali-bama, but no rain so not too bad.

swampy, hope Mom’s stuff is a hit and goes where it is needed.

I’ve sometimes gotten cats to type Facebook statuses and chat messages. :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe you can use your luggage & go to that famous museum in Paris, the Loovre.

Circadian rhythm has taken over for sure - I decided shortly after 5 that I couldn’t sleep any longer. Part of what pushed me out of bed is what I believe to be a malfunctioning furnace - it fires up but the fan won’t come on. The fan is set on Circulate mode, which means every so often, it just comes on to move air around the house, and that part works. It just doesn’t seem to work to blow freshly heated air. Dammit. I see an unexpected bill in our future.

No rush, tho - at least we have the pellet stove.

Let Higgs out into a 26° morning. I don’t expect it to drop to 23° as forecast, but it still might go a bit lower, tho at this point, I don’t think it much matters. brrrrrrrrrrr

Food Lion opens at 7 and I need a few things. I plan to hit the shower in about an hour and get to the store shortly after it opens. I don’t need much and I don’t want to get caught in the craziness that is Saturday at the grocery store. I should be in and out in under 30 minutes - waaaaay under, I hope.

Then we’re going to see the remake of Murder on the Orient Express at the 10:15 show. We’ve found that going to the first show of the day at this particular theater gives us most of the theater to ourselves. Which is good. And after, we’ll probably go get lunch. Then back home for chores - rah!

Those of you in frosty areas, stay warm. Or not - your call.

Happy Saturday and Happy Veterans Day to my fellow Vets!

Up, caffeinated ,and shevled. Off to work. Hockey tonight.

That’s what I bought.

Mornin’ all.

The weather has gone yuck today, yesterday was lovely, while I was irkin’, today the rain’s falling sideways. So I’m being forced to find indoor ways to procrastinate, rather than do boooring skool irk.

Stoopit ‘employability skills’ essay; I think the main reason I’ve not been able to find a job in the field I want is 'cos I don’t have relevant qualifications. That’s… why I’m enrolled on the course  Now I just need to stretch that out to another page and a half.

Good mornin’ y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and clear. The predicted high in caveland where I’ll head to in a while is 63 and N.O.S. for the day. I shall stop by the nursin’ home in Dawson to see Miss Becky and drop the clothes off at the church house whilst en route. When I get to da cave I get to do laundry. Envy my excitatin’ life!

MetalMouse I know mom’s clothes will go to people that need 'em rather than into some thrift shop. A couple places around here (well around home) will put donated clothes in their thrift shops. However, The Lord’s Pantry and Neighbors In Need do not and get the clothes to people that need 'em.

Now I need more caffeine. Then I shall purtify, grab a bizkit and head to da cave.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

doggio, must be that hybrid accent of yours. When I hear creamer, I think CoffeeMate TM or other non-dairy crap.

SIL and I put the Paris trip off until next weekend. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, towels are in the wash, breakfast is done and I’m working on teh caffeine.

Last evening, I carefully stitched Rocky Raccoon up again. We played for a bit, then I got a phone call. When I got off the phone, he had disemboweled Rocky. Now I’ve added a durable lovey to the coat when I stop at Tar-jay.

The guy across the street still has his Halloween skeletons sitting on his porch. Yesterday he added blinking white Christmas lights.
Classy or strange?

Just needs to stick some Easter eggs around, then he doesn’t have to redecorate all year!

Procrastination still going well; been to the shops, brushed the floor, made elaborate lunch, though I did briefly run out of ideas and wind up writing 100 words or so.

I am in da cave. YAY! I motivated to purtify soon after I posted this mornin’. I gassed up, got a McBizkit, stopped at the nursin’ home to see Miss Becky, dropped clothes off at the church house, stopped at Ferd’s for a couple of things, got to da cave, unpacked, and got into comfies. I forsee nappage in the near future. Needless to say, I’m glad to be home and to see OYKW. I missed the critter!

We just got back from the movies - it wasn’t bad except for one thing that made me crazy -they’re in the mountains, it’s snowing, they’re outside, and you can’t see anyone’s breath! Pulled me right out of the story! But it was an OK movie. I think I preferred the original version, but this wasn’t too bad.

I’ve got the first load of laundry in the washer, two more to go. **FCD **wants rice krispy treats, so I guess I’ll be making some of them soon. He’s napping right now, so all’s quiet at FairyChatEstates.

A gas station DH and I go to frequently has a two-pound slab of Rice Krispie treats. I don’t really think $12 is a reasonable price for it, though. I’m pretty sure I could make that much for under $5 of ingredients and not a lot of time and trouble.

yeah, they’re about the cheapest, quickest dessert one can make. Plus generic rice cereal works just as well as the fancy name brand, as do generic marshmallows and generic butter. So I guess I make generic squares.

I think we have some geriatric rice crispies [sup] ™[/sup] in the pantry.
