A (dreaded) vaction in the MMP

In this context, Paid Time Off.

Ah, I see. In the US Gubmint, it was Annual Leave (AL), so I didn’t recognize the term.

Back yard mowed, but not without some work. It was still wetter than I like so the mower got clogged several times and I’m afraid I’ve dug some grooves in the wetter spots. But the mowage is done.

Now to refresh myself and prepare lunch.

Well, it wasn’t expensive when I bought it. :dubious:

I got a yellow jacket down my shirt in the side yard last summer. It took me several days to find the nest, but I finally did, and nuked it from orbit.

Yeah, I paid, IIRC, $60 for a shingles shot a few years ago, and now they’re telling me that one wasn’t so good and I should get another one? :dubious:
This was from a nurse at the hospital. It could have gotten it, (and a tetanus shot), from them, but she warned me that they would be beaucoup expensive.
I’ll ask my pharmacist. (If a shingles shot is right for me.) :stuck_out_tongue:

Blurfage Happy Firday. TGIF. Tis been a long week. Hubby is landing in ATL in about 20 minutes with one hour layover then on to KW. I will so glad to have him back though he will probably irk all weekend as I know his helper is needing a break.

Other than hubby coming home there is nothing to report. I haven’t seen the Visiting Director today so far.

I will be glad to be home and have a couple days off.

Happy Weekend All. Feel better Nettie

Back from the vet. Taz is sleeping off the trauma of being crammed into a carrier. Higgs is just glad to be done with the car. She had a yeast infection in her left ear, so she got that cleaned and medicated, plus they clipped her nails.

Finally got things resolved with the credit union - for some totally mysterious reason, our 36-year-old account was declared dormant. The CSR said they do that when an account isn’t used for a year. Except ours has had at least weekly activity up until last week. Anyway, it’s resolved, and now I just need to see if my direct deposit will go thru. What a pain in the patoot!!

I’m going to load the dishwasher, then chill with knitting and Netflix for a while. My stings still hurt. **Bumba **- if I knew where the little bastards lived, I’d kill them and all of their future generations!

Happy Firday!

I typed out a post earlier and it went poof! and I got pissed and so didn’t type it out again.

It’s hot outside, when I got back from the park at 9:30 it was a N.O.S. 82 feels like 91 degrees.
We went earlier, Ripple made some new friends.
My son finished putting out the rocks while we were gone. We didn’t have enough, so I ordered another 20 bags.
I think 10 would do it, but I have some ideas for the rest.
I’ll be picking them up myself this time though, free delivery is nice, but takes too long, and it’s about the same amount of irk.

I want to do some stuff outside, but it is supposed to get up to 97, as of now it is 91 feels like 104.
I should check on the cats I guess, but I have no intention whatsoever of going outside.

I met an interesting woman at the park, 70 years old and ex-military, still working for the government. She had some stories to tell. She still travels all over the world.
Cute bulldog too.

How you feel better soon Nettie

Ouchie Moooooommmmmm

Hope you daughter is doing okay Sunny

Of course the rug pulls it all together Doggio

My rug is an 8x10, I think a 10x10 would work better, but as 10x12 may be too big. I’ve never seem a 10 by 10, but maybe a 9x11 would work.
I don’t know, too many options, too many decisions.

A wasp nailed me on the back of the neck when I was in the barn loft. I grabbed him and threw him against the wall. He made a very satisfying plop when he hit the wall and slid down.
My ankylosing spodilitic neck didn’t hurt for a while after that; I considered being stung on purpose for a while.

Akchurly it’d be a her- in wasps and bees the sting is a modified ovipositor, only females have one.

In other news, we finally got the results for this year’s Uni- and the 2 year course I initially signed up for. Got a ‘Distinction’, which is the best result. The exam results were waaay higher than I expected, thought I’d be pulling the grade down with 'em, but all of them actually brought it up. does little happy dance

Got one more year to go to get the full BSc, but this is an actual qualification, not just a end of year, so I’ve got that now whatever. I get to go sit through a boring grad ceremony and everything, if I want to.

It was flooded under the kitchen sink the other day. Mrs. L.A. discovered that it was the water pipe at the hot water shut-off spigot. I got one of those braided steel pipes and replaced the plastic one a few minutes ago. No leakage yet. fingers crossed

Congrats, Nut!!! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>

I took a break from knitting to load the dishwasher. Now, back to the yarn.

That is interesting to know, but in cussing I said “you”, not he or she, so my grammatical integrity is intact.
:dubious:

Oh good. I wouldn’t want her to get her feelings hurt.

Yellow jackets deserve to get their feelings and their entire little evil bodies hurt!!! I’m still in pain!!

Daughter has gone to a movie, SIL is entertaining Roxy, **FCD **and I are chilling as the sun sinks slowly in the west…

You said him twice. Just saying. Make that four times.

Hubs is home and glad to be here. He is off to the good place for take in. He brought me gifts. It’s a set of Lobster claw salt and pepper shakers, a lighthouse Xmas tree ornament, a paperweight that reads Maine, a huge coffee cup from Winter Harbor and an ink pen that has lobster claws on the on/off mechanism which he said caused TSA to search his bag. He is rested and very glad to be home. Our cat was mucho happy to have him back.

Raining a smidge. Nut congratulations. Sari I get tired just reading all you and Mooommmm do. Blessed weekend.

Howdy Y’all! We supped and rain set in. Been rainin’ all evenin’. Nice. We sat out on the back porch for a while drinkin’ a beer and just listenin’ to and watchin’ the rain. We really are a couple of old farts! Nice way to spend some evenin’ time though. OYKW is now abed as he’s tahrd, poor thing. I may join him shortly.

Nuts congrats!

WHO’S A KOLLEDGE GRAJOOATE!!!
NUTS! NUTS! NUTS!**

May your gastrointestinal woes end soon nettie.

Ouch Mooooom, Yours or flytrap’s run-ins would have had me reaching for the epi-pen.

Cookie, when I inquired about a shingles vax, I was told that it wasn’t necessary, even at my age, because I had never had chicken pox.

WTG nut!

I slept in today, read a lot, grocery shopped and took Nelson to the dog park for his (informal) playdate. A good time was had by all and we swung through Popeye’s for some supper. I’s tahred.

Tomorrow, since I couldn’t get a dog walker, SIL and I will take a shorter day trip up to Guthrie, KY to poke around and hit the Amish market there.

Have a great and safe trip Red. I am tahred too. Been a long day. Night!

Time to [del]make the donuts[/del] go see/shoot sunrise over the ocean (again).

I got a shingles vax but found out from my mom that I never had chicken pox. I was sure I’d had all that crap when I was a kid. Oh well, I’m still here.

I woke around 3 to pee and because of the stings on my leg - I guess the antihistamine wore off. So I slathered on some hydrocortisone, took another tablet, and played with my other tablet (:D) for about an hour till I fell asleep again. Then I woke a bit after 6. Critters have been tended to and I’m about to hit the shower so **FCD **and I can go have breakfast at a new (to us) place, then pick up my watches.

Later, of course, there will be laundry, and as hot as it’s gonna be, it’ll dry fast! I’ll push the vacuum cleaner around, too, and maybe run the carpet cleaner in the dining room, or not. We’ll see.

Happy Saturday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 91 and partly cloudy (partly N.O.S.?) for the day. It rained most of all last night I think. I did go beddy bye around nine-thirty and ‘twas still rainin’ then. The big plan of the day is a trip to the Home Despot and Sam’s for some supplies for the church. There’s a type of wood floor cleaner I find only at the Despot. ‘Tis a good one I reckon and the folks who do the cleanin’ swear by it so I go there to get Bruce Floor Cleaner. Trash bags and a couple other janitorial items that are needed I shall procure from Sam’s. Beyond that, who knows what the day holds. Maybe some quality cee-mint pond time should the weather cooperate. Any need to feed shall be via forage.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, bother of bothers, alas and alack, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is just so hard and unfair!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!
