OMG! My friend that I emailed, after seeing the obit of her mother-in-law, emailed me in return; we’re going to try to stay in touch now. Funny thing, she told me that she’d been thinking of me recently, but couldn’t remember my last name! Good things do come of reading the obits, I’m here to tell. Well, this is a good thing for us. D’oh!
I show up at the teashop and they start brewing me a pot of Earl Grey.
Speaking of Timmy’s, Complicated Roommate had a couple of packets of Real Honest Tim Horton’s coffee shipped down here. I have not yet brewed it. I may do so this weekend, but I’ll need to clean the coffeemaker since I mainly use it to brew iced tea. I will find out what crack you Canadians are keeping from us oh yes I will.
But we’ve got Bojangles down here and you don’t. Y’all are biscuit DEPRIVED!
Another night of insomnia, but the birds began to sing at 4:30, and the sky to lighten at just before 5:00, so it’s all good. Perhaps I’ll get myself out to the front yard to tidy up my posey beds.
Hi herbs! It’s good to hear that you are catching up with an old friend, I recently got in touch with my two best friends and another friend from high school via myspace, and it’s great to see what we have done with our lives these last mumble mumble years!
Hey Vundy! What’s small and goes “Ow”? surreptitiously pinches Vundy on the…shoulder
Hey db! I hear you have two canines to buttle after now, how’s that going and where are the pics?
We are in the low to mid 50’s during the daytime too snowbunny, but our night temps don’t get lower that the mid 40’s. There are advantages to living at sea level!
The sun is trying to break through the clouds, it would be such a bonus for me if it did. For now I am going to make a cuppa tea and have a bowl of cereal, and then I might as well shower and get started with the day. There may be a nap for me later on, though, we’ll just have to wait and see.
How wonderful that you two were able to reconnect after so long, tarra. Hope this is the beginning of many happy Mumper stories, because it seems we’ve had a run of bad luck in here lately.
Spaz, the only way to experience the addictive nature of a Timmy’s coffee is to get it from the store. People try to brew it at home but fail miserably to achieve the ephemeral perfection that is an extra-large-double-double fresh out of the pot (or in my case, extra-large-one-and-a-half-sugars-two-creams). Partly due to the fact that some of them wimp out on the 18% cream, which is a must, and partly because even with the right amount of cream and sugar, there’s still a little je-ne-sais-quoi missing.
(personally, I suspect they coat the inside of their cups with crack… that would explain everything)
Today’s looking like it’s going to involve a lot of waiting. Bleh.
And I’m supposed to be working on a report on what we’ve done in the last quarter. Major yuck. I want to DO the stuff, not report on the stuff I do. Double bleh.
The closest Timmy’s to me is in Ohio or Kentucky. And you’ve never had biscuits unless you’ve had them made by an Old Southern Grandma. swampy will back me up on this. Bojangles is a faint echo, but an echo it is.
And then stupid me decided to come back to the office, despite the fact that I’ve got nothing to do today except look pretty and stare at my monitor. Duh me.
Well Spring certainly has sprung, hasn’t it?? ::Looks pointedly at kai and bobbio
It’s HOT here. Currently 92 degress Murkin. Mr. Anachi and I are going to lounge in the cement pond after work tonight. Dinner courtesy of newly opened Japanese Restaurant.
soapy, I thought that was your town when I saw the Wesleyan murder on the news. Sounds like this guy was a deranged stalker.
I am getting excited. My bro is coming over from Houston next weekend so we can go see the new Star Trek at the Imax theater. We’ve been waiting. I am so glad it’s getting good reviews.
Acutually, I can make a pretty dang good buttermilk biscuit. Nobody ever complains! I grew up eatin’ good ol’ homemade biscuits and it took me years to perfect ‘em. Sis is a whiz at makin’ biscuits. MMMMMMM… But, ya know what? There are frozen ones these days that taste pretty good and a lot of time I just bake up some of those. The horror, I know!
It’s hawt outside! Like 93 Amurrkin. Like Puggy I foresee a little cee-mint pond loungin’ in the future.
Herbs even though I went to WH this mornin’, I did not have a waffle. I had me some bacon, scrambled aigs with cheese, grits and raisin toast. YUM!
For this evening, I foresee a patio. And beer. And lounging in the sun. Possibly all at the same time.
This plan requires dragging The Yuppie Banker out of her office at a reasonable hour, since I’m supposed to meet her for drinks and talk about boys tonight… but left to her devices she’d probably end up working on a report until 10pm and then claim she’s too tired to do anything. Friends don’t let friends work late on a day like today.
And on that note, I’m getting the heck outta dodge. I hereby declare it to be Beer O’Clock! zoooooooooooooooom
