A fact-filled MMP

I am so relieved, swampy. I was concerned that you might miss dessert. Which would have been tragic, of course.

So, I’ve done a bunch of weeding (yes, I have an unfortunate number of weeds). And cut down the branches of my butterfly bushes. And sorted out the daylilies that need to be planted. And figured out what to move next. And I’ve gone for a walk.

And now I’m watching the first season of Psych and knitting. Or will be as soon as I’m done typing.

Back later.

GT

Hi everyone! I’m sunburned. We had a fabulous time at the art car parade.

Is anyone on deck for Monday? I’ll write up an MMP (with pics) if not.

It was so hooooottttttt. But it’s the humidity that’ll kill ya!

I did all the laundry yesterday, and found a new dog park for the kiddoes. It’s a ways away, but it’s dry! And huuuugge! I must have walked almost a mile with them, and then today - oy!

I’m tahred.

Off to surf.

Smooches!

Mornin’ all. Happy Mothers’ Day!

HRH is still sick and waking up at 5am with a blocked nose, regardless of what time she went to sleep. So we are both grumpy as all get-out and snotty to boot. No work today - just a trip to the clinic, followed by some parental subterfuge in hiding medicine in someone’s juice cup!

We had a wild storm while I was at work. The wind was so strong, i could barely open teh store’s front door. I was so excited about the game, I only got 2 hours of sleep last night. But I feel finadpfijsznvkij n zzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :snork:

Poor HRH

Enjoy, Soapy!

Spaz, good luck with the new roomie.

Good morning and Happy Mothers Day! So far, my day is full of animals. I had both cats climbing on me in bed. Ziva is such a dainty little thing, I hardly feel her, tho she is overly fond of plopping down so that I get a face full of her hair. Taz, the solid feller that he is, actually hurts if he’s walking over me - all that weight pressed on 4 little footies!

I really don’t want to do anything today. I know I have to do laundry. But I just want to veg, especially after all the fun of yesterday. Wonder if I should play the Mothers Day card?

**Rebo **- I don’t think anyone has volunteered for tomorrow, so I vote for you!

Time for caffeine. French toast casserole a little later. Beyond that, who knows??

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mumper Mamas! Allow yourselves to be pampered. Demand offerings of ice cream, chocolate and cool drinks of your choice! Remember it’s your right to be taken out to the Mother’s Day [del]hog trough[/del] buffet of your choice!

Oh and yes I am sneakin’ in a post from Mom’s 'puter. I’s all cleaned up and purtified for churchification. Afterwards we will have lunch at sis’s and then I’ll need to head back to da cave. We are promised rain and t’storms this afternoon. Hopefully I’ll beat 'em back home.

gt thank you for your concern. Missing dessert is one of the great tragedies of life.
Later Y’all!

My tenant (aka Mr Wonderful) got me coffee and an egg sammich this morning. A mite earlier than I would have preferred but now I am dressed, fed, medicated, and caffienated - I’m ready for my zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I woke up to a canine WWE cage match being staged on my head. The day can only get better.

FCM, play the card.

Breakfast is almost ready, but the kids are still asleep, so they’ll be eating leftovers. Ya snooze, ya lose.

No boat time today - yay! Both of us are just too achy to deal. I’ll do laundry and vacuum and knit and chill. Sounds like a good day to me.

Except for the lack of chocolate. That’s not right.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, everyone!!!

Surely someone will make up for the appalling lack of chocolate, FCM.

How nice of Mr. Wonderful, rosie! I think a West-Coast version of Mr. Wonderful needs to be developed for gotti and his DH.

Sounds like a lovely start to your day, doggio.

Hope you and HRH feel better soon, Dotty.

FCM’s right, Rebo. There’s no one signed up for Monday’s MMP, so we’ll look forward to your story and pics. Yay!!!

Tired. Need to sort and do laundry.

Happy Mother’s Day, mumper moms!

Off to brunch, yum!

Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

My daughter came home last night and presented me with a lovely bouquet of flowers and a bag of Lindt Dark Chocolate truffles. It was very nice. She has to work today, so we won’t really get to spend any time together today.

My poor son had an AWFUL day at work yesterday. He was scheduled to work from 2:00 to 10:00 last night. It was going to be his first eight hour shift. He didn’t get a “lunch break” until 9:00 last night. He had horrible customers, they were slammed, and the crew kept messing up orders so he was bearing the brunt of the customers’ ire. He kept calm and did everything he could to make things right, but he was moooost unhappy when he came home last night. Poor kid.

This Sonic just continues to be SLAMMED by customers. There is always a wait. I’m hoping the excitement dies off soon.

He has to work both days next weekend and isn’t thrilled about that either. Both days will be two to ten shifts. Additionally, he has to work for a few hours on Tuesday.

He’s already talking about finding a job at a mall clothing store. Poor kid, he has no idea that those jobs can be just as bad. I feel badly for him.

My coffee is done, I’m going to get a cup.

Well, I finished my second donation to Project Linus - it’s very soft and warm.

The kids made it to breakfast just after we sat down, so they didn’t really get leftovers.

I’m about to run the vacuum, them make myself a sammich. I should probably put some clothes on, too - can’t spend all day in my bathrobe, can I? Or can I?!? hmmmmm

Once the carpets are de-haired, I think I’ll make another cap to send to MamaTigs. I should probably yank something out of the freezer for supper, too.

This is a good mother’s day - I’m enjoying it. Guess I should call my mom…

Lunch at Bro’s was yummy. Dessert was a cake of a kind that’s made in the fridge, not baked, but it was weird that after touting that “it doesn’t need fires and there’s nothing to watch,” SiL’s Mom had modified the recipe to include “bring the mixture of milk, cream and ferments to a boil, then break the boiling with cold milk.” She could totally have killed it, if she’d decided to have it boiling for a few minutes :smack:

I’m a bad influence for The Nephew. The other day, as he was about to attack a Nutella sandwich, SiL’s Mom asked me “and you must have loved it too when you were a kid, didn’t you?” “never liked it, actually” “oh, so you didn’t like chocolate?” “chocolate, yes, nutella no, too sweet for me” and then The Nephew declared that he didn’t like it either, but I counterattacked indicating that he did like it five minutes before and I didn’t believe his taste had changed that fast, so yes he had to eat his sandwich. Today I asked for no NOTs with my chicken and he didn’t want NOT either… :o

Hubby is in the shower so he can head off to the store to pick up plants or something for the Moms. They don’t need “things”, so we always give plants or hanging baskets which they always enjoy.

When he’s done, I’ll hop in the shower and prettify myself. It looks like we’ll be a little late getting to my sister’s place. She lives a good distance from us and we have to cross the Narrows Bridge to get there too. Traffic is always horrendous around that bridge.

Oh well…nothing I can do about it.

Frankly, I’d much rather spend the day tootling around the house here. At least the sun is shining and I didn’t have to do any of the work for this day.

I is officially a dumbass.

How to be a dumbass in three easy steps:

  1. Chop up some onions for salad.
  2. Wash your hands, but (and this is the important part) somewhat less than thoroughly.
  3. A while later, rub eyes… :smack: :o :Ouchouchouch:

I’m just about over blinking…

Happy Mother’s Day to all American mothers.

OK, Dotty and Lili (and any other non-US mothers I may have missed?), you too… :stuck_out_tongue:

Eh, hell with it, all the potential mothers of the MMP

Thanks Nooner! Although it isn’t Mother’s Day here (they celebrate it in March - usually around the same time as the UK’s Mothering Sunday), I celebrated it by raising a glass of Kahlua and Cream to FCM and all the other mothers who are not just mothers, but are also fantastic women!

Happy Mother’s Day to everybody! {{{Mumper Moms}}} I hope HRH feels better soon, Dotty. Snotty toddlers are always frustrating as well as pitiful, aren’t they?

It’s a quiet day around the Tiger household. Well, except for Hank Hill across the street mowing his yard. And trimming his yard. And running the blower. And then trimming some more. And blowing some more. For the third time this week. Actually, it’s three times every week.  Silly me, I never knew lawns needed mowing every other day. How could I be so ignorant?

I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m definitely playing the Mom Card today! Okay, okay, I did have to finish up about 10 minutes of the job I didn’t quite get done last night, but that took no time at all, and so the rest of the day I will be assuming the knitting position and working on these Cookie A socks for the Ravelry KAL. I think I might even be able to get the first sock completely done today, knock wood. and then, because I’m a good girl, I’m going to go finish the 2nd sock of another pair that I have in progress (otherwise known as a UFO, an UnFinished Object) before I go back and do the second KAL sock – just to make myself get the other ones done! Otherwise I’d just do the KAL socks and the heck with everything else!

It is a simply scrumptuously beautiful day here today. 70°F, nice breeze, clear sky, warm sunshine, green leaves…perfect! Papa Tigs took Isaac for a swim early this morning, so now Isaac is crashed for the rest of the day. He’s been hiding here in my office for the last few hours just to make sure Papa Tigs doesn’t notice him and make him go exercise some more. He’s a TAHRED puppy!

I’ve already heard from my wonderful daughter; we’ll see what happens with my little rat of a son. I’ll call my mom in a bit, after she’s all done with churchification, since she’s not a heathen like I am. And I’ll maybe even call my sister later, but it has to be a lot later because her church shares a building so she goes to church on Sunday afternoon. That’s real devotion, if you ask me – I always thought Sunday afternoons were for eating and vegging!

Okay, off to enjoy my day.

… so Tigers are rodents? I mean, if your daughter’s a rabbit and your son a rat, it stands to reason there must have been other rodents in the genetic vicinity, aye?

Aw, man - I left my unfinished post to go watch the Rockets for a minute, and my husband closed the window. Crap. Oh well.

I’ll get the new MMP up tonight.

Happy Mother’s Day, all!

Go Rockets!
