A Fishin’ we will go. MMP

WOOHOO RIFTY!!! CONGRATS!!!

FCM you need chicken soup, more chocolate, iced tea, fluffy pillows, ice cream, orange juice, bad and/or trashy movies and foot rubs. Those are sure fire cures. Plus lots of naps.

I’m through [del]torturing[/del] testing. Now I have to write reports. On the plus side, I don’t have to go to VI-eeen-a this afternoon so that’s good. My sinuses hurt. That’s bad. The temp is going up to the low 80s. That’s good. So I got good and bad which overall is good, I guess. IJ also have peanut butter malt crackers which is always good.

I made a run to the grocery store for some soup and crackers. I’m feeling a little better, or I was till the heating oil guy made his delivery. $306. Glad the heating season is almost over. That’s for less than 2 months. But I don’t know if electric heat would be comparable. We need to do research - our furnace is original install and we’re heating on borrowed time. When we have to replace it, we need to know exactly what we want. GAH!

Anyway, just wanted to update everyone - I can’t have you all fretting about my sick old self… <koff koff> But I do think I’m going to go lie down for a while. So carry on, but don’t get out of control. And don’t make a big mess. And keep the noise down - I’ll be napping!

Sshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…be vewwy vewwy quiet everyone!

I am doing a bad thing and posting without reading everything but it is month end so I am only up to about halfway through page 3!

Anyways I just had to tell you this. It is my birthday three weeks today and I will be <cough>twentynine<cough> and I am not happy but I decided to treat myself to a spa treatment as my birthday present to myself. I booked a chocolate yes that is correct a ** CHOCOLATE ** facial!!!

very excited

I don’t know what a chocolate facial is, but I sure like the cut of your jib.

Do I say it?

Should I say it?

Will it be funny?

Will it just be gross?

…yeah…it will…
I can only do a vanilla facial…sorry

Which reminds me of an off-color joke.
Q: What’s the difference between life savers and guys?
A: Life Savers come in 5 flavors.

I’m still alive. I sorta napped. I had more chicken soup. My nose is still running, and I’ve decided if I feel this crappy in the morning, I’m not getting up. I think a hot tub would really help - or a steam room. I may just go stand in the shower for a while.

I’ve also decided that daytime TV really stinks. I don’t know how FCD survived 5+ weeks of it! No wonder he was so eager to get back to the office!

No doubt about it - being sick is not fun. <insert big pout here>

I’m about to go take a CLEP test. I am very excited.

Also, I just posted a picture of myself onto one of those silly “rate me!” sites. No, not hotornot. This one is a little more… gay-oriented. Anyway, I’m naked, but you can’t see my face! You’ll never be able to tell that it’s me!

Would anybody like a vocational evaluation (AKA torture) followed by a big honkin’ multi-page report on the results? That’s what I’ve been doing the past three days. One more report to write but it ain’t happening til tomorrow. I have written until I have bored myself! Y-A-W-N Good reports though, if I do say so myself. Thorough. Comprehensive. Professional. B-O-R-I-N-G! Just like any good report should be.

I want, nay, NEED a beer! Or six. It’s pizza night at the swampcave, so beer is, of course, the beverage of choice. YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! I hear y’all now thinkin… DUH! Like it ain’t every night? Smart alecks! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, swampy, maybe you should do a vocational evaluation on me! Maybe I shouldn’t be an engineer. Maybe I missed my true calling and I just don’t know it. How sad to come this close >< to retirement in possibly the wrong field. Whaddaya say, ol’ buddy, ol’ pal, ol’ geezer??

Good luck on the CLEP test donkeybear. I’ll rate you a seven. I’ll need a visual in order to evaluate if the rating should be higher.

I realize I am way behind on the news, so excuse me - but what kind of museum? A butterfly museum? They have a beautiful one here in Upstate NY, or is it Mass? Anyway, I just love it-love it-love it!

WOOHOO! Wow! Good on you! Imagine me throwing some confetti on you! Good job!

I never fail to be impressed by how far and how fast the MMP moves. Anyway, let’ see"

Draelin, glad everything at least went smoothly. <snerk>

Welby, happy birthday!

**FCM ** & anyrose, get better and stop feeling miserable!

Oh, and I forgot - similar thoughts to anyone else who needs them!

Whew! My phone interview is done and I think I did pretty well. They did NOT ask the standard questions that I’d prepared for: Describe yourself, What are your strengths and weaknesses?, What are your goals?, etc. So all my prep work was right out the window. But I think I handled the unexpected questions pretty well.

So HOPEFULLY I’ll be hearing back from them about a second interview. ::crosses fingers::

Thanks all for the good spirits.
Oh, man. It still hasn’t really sunk in yet. I DID IT. I MADE [sub]will make, whatever[/sub] IT TO GRAD SCHOOL. GAAAHHHH.
:: breathe :: Okay. I’m okay. Really. Can’t go to grad school if my head explodes from sheer emotional high. For the record, it’s not definite that I’ll be going to Amsterdam. Cornell, Penn State, and U Maryland rejected me (the jerks), but that still leaves four North American schools that I have yet to hear from: Syracuse, Dartmouth, Rutgers, and Waterloo. And odds are they’ll give me more money. So I need to wait and see what the financial situation will be with Amsterdam, and of course which of those four let me in. I’m increasingly confident about Syracuse after yesterday, no idea about the other three. So we shall see.

FCM, feel better okay? We can’t have our Overlord getting sick and feeling icky. Hugs aplenty.

Mika, 47. That’s a four, followed by a seven. Forty-seven. :stuck_out_tongue: And taxi, I know you knocked 'em dead! Good luck!

I need to ask, Spats, why? Does the number have some significance in physics or quantum mechanics or something like that?

In case you were wondering, cleaning your microwave and loading the dishwasher doesn’t help you feel better. Although it’s nice to have a semi-clean kitchen. I’ve been drinking a lot of water, but tea might have been a better choice. I’m still thinking about a steamy shower.

FCD just called - he’s just leaving work, so he’s going to be pretty late - he’ll be catching the worst of the traffic. And he’s working from home tomorrow. Unless I have a wonderful night, I won’t be going to work in the morning. So, if nothing else, we can sleep in.

I think I will try the steamy shower. And we’ve got a 50-gallon water heater, so I can have a looooooooong shower. I’ll be back when I’m all prune-y. Try not to imagine me in a steamy shower - it’s not a pretty picture. Trust me. <snuffle snuffle>

So I am all caught up…

Lou seriously do you want me to slap you…you have spoilt my birthday pampering

looks innocent me? Spoiled something?

Never!!
You must be speaking of some other sick-minded individual.
'sides, you needed BETTER pampering. I just saved you from inferior pampering, which is dangerously close to unpampering.
besides, we don’t want you to get all spoiled now, do we?

Swampbear , I need vocational assistance. I’m a college senior (English major, which means I’m studying to serve fries/become unemployed) and not certain what my future brings.
