A Fishin’ we will go. MMP

Actually, BSMF was an English major. He’s employed, though he can’t spell for shit. I of course give him hell for that mercilessly.

He ended up going back to community college for an AA in web design, and now he’s a web designer for a small company that sells retail fixtures.

It beats coming home smelling like french fry grease, I tell you what.

Well, it all started at Pomona College, out in Claremont, California. Once the number became a running gag there, one of its graduates got a job writing Star Trek TNG episodes, and he put it into all of his scripts. Other writers picked up the gag, and there you are.

Go Rifty! It’s Yur Birfday! Not for real real, but for play play!
my “sick” is almost gone. the superduper Z-max did the trick. Plus I got my semi-annual cortisone/lidicaine “cocktail” shot yesterday which has also helped tremendusly. SO I’m good to go for the weekend. (sigh of relief) Now if only the hack-hack-hacking would stop.

A hearse in a processional hits a bump, forcing the door open as it goes up a hill. The casket slides out, down the street, into a drug store, and comes to an abrupt halt at the pharmacy counter, causing the lid to fly open and the corpse to sit up and say “You got anything to stop this coffin?”

SO - I had a FULL day today.
I had the day off so I could do the ‘headless chicken’ thing and get ready for the trip. I threw a load of wash in and was out the door by 8:40 am because I thought my first appointment was at 9:00am. When I got there I found out it was really at 10:30. “Would you like to watch some TV til then?” Hell, no! I went back home, threw the wash into the dryer, reorganized one of my travel bags, headed back out, got some breakfast at DD (they got my coffee wrong  ), fed the car, and got back to my appointment at 10:15.
When I was thru there, I went to Walgreen’s, stopped at the bank, headed to the salon to get my nails and hair done. On the way, I passed the camera store I’ve shopped at on a few occassions - the staff is very helpful. See, my digi-cam is 2 years old and therefore a dinosaur. I was intrigued by the Samsung 6 MP “SLIM”, and decided to think about it a bit, reasoning I might get a better on the web.
Got to the salon and browsed the accessory boutique at which I have spent more money than I care to even think about (but I love the one of a kind pieces they have there) While being pampered, I thought some more about the camera and reasoned that if I bought it today, I’d save on shipping PLUS I could use it at competition. So I did. (I wonder if there’s any money left in my bank account now :dubious: )
I had some time to kill before physical therapy, so I stopped to get the car washed. This place just opened up. The building looks more like a house than a utilitarian cleaning shed. And the inside is nicely decorated. And they have high end snacks. And they have couches and a plasma TV. And outside they have nice sturdy wrought iron furnature (it was GORGEOUS today, so I sat outside and talked to the other patrons) And the best part - they did such a great job, my car smells new again. so yeah, I’ll be going back there. But it took a while longer than I’d figured so I was a little late to PT.
At PT, I pushed myself a little further, because I’m sensing more mobility which is the whole point. I came home, grabbed all the bags out of the car, went in thru the garage to grab the stuff out of the dryer, trundled everything upstairs and sat down to read email and the boards. After dinner I’ll do some packing, then collapse early, because we’re hitting the road around 9am tomorrow.
I AM EX-HAUS-TED!!!

Ditto. Minus the chicken soup. There’s soup, but I just can’t get the fifteen feet to the kitchen to look at it.

Oh, god, I’m sick. I am just sitting here, shivering and moaning and dripping. I’m scared to blow my nose, it’s all hurty there now. But blow or dab I must.

I am seriously not going in to work tomorrow. Do you know what day of the month tomorrow is? It’s the 31st.

I work in a property management office.

Still–my health! My health! (Or my sometime-to-be-restored, I pray, health.) That must come first.

The shower felt really good. Till I got out. Then my head got all stuffy again. Then my nose started running. And the coughing started again. So much for that shower…

I fed the critters, then FCD came home and took Bernie out to pee and poo. Then we had some leftover bean soup. He’s watching TV and I’m surfing and coughing. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to experience a miracle cure overnight.

Being sick sucks. <sigh>

Guilt about not going to work tomorrow gone!

I feel badly if I miss work, especially at a crazybusy time of the month, but yeah… We should keep ourselves and our germs at home. No point in having an entire office out with this, that would be so much worse.

OK…looks like rosie is still online and I actually have the peeps link. Not sure how long it will be publicly accessible (I didn’t think the pics would actually be there or I’d have linked them earlier).

I’ll go finish reading and come back after a bit…

Woooooo hoooooooo Rifty!!! They accepted you in Amsterdam, you have to go there. There’s a rule. Seriously, though, if there’s any way to swing it, at least start there. If you don’t like it, you can always come back stateside, but there’s really no substitute for an overseas study experience.

And now, as a public service, I will waltz through the MMP spraying disinfectant in every corner. Oh, and under the couch.

I didn’t take an antihistamine this morning and as a result, I have charming allergy symptoms and drippy sinuses. Yuck.

So, I see susan hasn’t checked in again after her 3:00 event yesterday. susan, come back…even if it didn’t turn out like you thought! We want to hear about it!

Glad the interview went well, taxi. Got my fingers crossed for you.

Workday was somewhat better today. Actually got some things done (not the planned ones, necessarily, but useful things, nonethess). Tomorrow might be OK. At least there’s another nice lunch.

Hope everyone’s feeling better tomorrow.

change of plans. I have no more energy tonight, so I’m crashing real early (not even gonna stay up for TDS/TCR - tho I might wake up to catch the 1:00am reruns) I’ll just wake up at first bell (5:55am) and hit the snooze only once, then do all the stuff in the morning that I will most likely decide I should have done tonight. But I really need sleep.

You had a mega, evil, nasty, wicked awful busy day. Methinks you need yourself some down time.

Evening. I’ve skimmed, but don’t have time to read properly because I should be in bed so I can get up early tomorrow and do stuff before we leave. I don’t want to go and spend three days socializing. I am not a people person. I am cranky.

I am PMSing.
Oh, well. It CAN’T be worse than Hell Wedding in December, with the nervous, stressed, body-issues bride and making a wedding dress in two weeks and all the panic. It can’t.

busybusy this week.

only a month and a few days til the play.
Happy birthday, Welby even if it’s late by now

and congratulations spats

I thought I had something else to say, but apparently I don’t.

ok - I have an hour and a half to scramble around and finish packing (well, it’ll be more like an hour when I finish the boards and my emails) I doubt I’ll have a chance to check in over the weekend, so everyone have a good one. Monday, in the MMP, I’ll tell you all about dinner tonight with twickster and some other Philly dopers, about the competition (which I have a strong feeling we will take “most improved” honors) and lots of pics to share. Til then.

Have a good trip rosie! Say hi to twicks and everyone else at the dinner. I’ll look forward to your MMP.

Oh and hi Dot! Wondered where you’d been this week.

Hope everything goes well this weekend, Lissla.

I’m off to work and hope to remember to ask my brother when he and kids will be landing on my doorstep. He’s running a half-marathon in the morning, so I imagine it will be sometime tonight… At least the house doesn’t look completely awful.

GT

Have a fun trip Rosie! Knock 'em dead.

How’re all the sickies today? Feeling better I hope.

Ima go to the local really good seafood/catfish restaurant tonight and eat me some catfish and shrimpys. I’m being taken to dinner. I like being taken to dinner. I love having attention and money lavished upon me.

Taters, my history reading is pretty scattered, but mainly covers war. I just read a good one about Thermopylae, and one about Napoleon invading Russia, and another about Stalingrad during WWII.

I think this set will ocver the Civil War, there’s a biography of Longstreet I’ve been wanting to get.

FCM. Get Better. NOW!

I survived the night - barely. I wound up spending most of it on the recliner, but I still slept fitfully. ** FCD** is out getting some breakfast for us, then I’ll shower and maybe try to sleep.

Definitely not allergies. Definitely a cold. I’m too old to deal with this nonsense. <snuffle snuffle> What I need is sleep. Maybe I’ll get some today.

Today’s only redeeming quality is that it’s Friday. That is all.

Morning. Five hours of sleep. See you all on Monday.

Mmmmf. Damned mornings. I get to sleep in until it’s the PM tomorrow.

That’s how a day should start, dammit.
Now I’ve gotta do something for work so I can eventually take care of ALL of you…or at least the ones that are depending on me for a safety net.

Sorry to hear about your developing cold, FCMO , I don’t get sick, and I know that’s not going to make you better, but I’m trying to transfer my antibodies to you by sticking my tongue in some random port in the laptop…feeling better?

uhhhnnnnfff…ow…that if the plafe where the power cord goef…now my tongue is numm…
