A Foolish April MMP

I finished the chickie noodle soup for lunch. Think I’ll run the vacuum to get up the shoe droppin’s from the carpet. Then I’m going out to futz in the yard a bit.

Or not - where did the sun go???

April Fools Pranks – my favorites doing was a series against a friend who drove a Karmann Ghia. They ranged from turning it sideways in parking spaces to adding a racing stripe by locking the front brake of a dirt bike while riding over it. Look, back then owning a car that small and NOT sporty was just asking for it.

Done to me? Sewing me in my canvas wedge tent while I was asleep. Woke up needing a desperate trip to “Fort Necessity” and -------- what the Hell? Ended up pissing back in the bell.

Karmann Ghia had the same engine as the Porsche 914, did it not?

We had a Porsche 914 - one of the stupider vehicle purchases we made - that and the MG Midget.

Front garden bed is raked out. Tomorrow, I’ll start weeding it. Today I’m done outside. Don’t want to overdo it and get overly sore - better to pace myself.

Now, supper - what to defrost? Maybe poke chops? That works…

It required the constant presence of Teutonic repairmen, but I loved mine.

Karmann Ghia sounds like a stripper name. What? That’s the first thing I thought of when I read the name.

Jim meant to say earlier, I feel for ya. Kinda sinusy here as well. Trees gotta do their thang though.

I am goofin’ off for a few minutes. I have to be on a conference call at three and there’s no use in gettin’ into sump’n I’ll have to put aside while I’m pretendin’ to pay attention.

But my most recent prank happened when I made people on a message board I frequent think, if only just for a minute, that I was actually responsible for the death of another human being.

Shed guy can’t move our shed till Thurs - his truck has brake problems. Meanwhile, there’s a chance of rain tomorrow, so we’ve got to put plastic over the hole in the roof of the red shed so the stuff we crammed in there doesn’t get rained upon. Always something…

Howdy! Dindin has been cooked and et. Plus also, we got haircuts. Ok, we got haircuts then dindin got cooked and et. We are coiffed and well fed.

Well, none of us would actually be shocked by the notion of it all. :stuck_out_tongue:

MOOOOOOM it’s like a laundromat lady once said to me, “if it ain’t one thing, it’s sump’n worse.”

Supper was yum - poke chops cooked in Sonny’s sweet BBQ sauce, succotash, and whomp biscuits with strawberry jam. The dishwasher is now washing and we’re digesting. Cake later.

Is it bedtime yet?

It’s always bedtime somewhere…

Dammit, my lower back still hurts. Exercise did not help. I have Tylenol at home, but it’s barely touching this hurt. I have to get some more ibehopin’ at irk tomorrow.

Time to do some afghaning in front of the TV. MWAH!

Had dinner at the unspellable Te-oh-tea-wha-can, awesome does not do the place justice. I had the El Tony, large slab of bbq poke ribs, frijoles refritos, arroz, guacamole, onions, pico de gallo and fresh tortillas. The ribs are so soft, you pull the bones out with your fingers.

I am a happy man.

Jim

Went out to look at two houses.
Looked at the first one and said this is it and put in an offer.

So the waiting starts.

Sari appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the house.

Spaz hope the lower back feels better soonest.

Now I shall go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time. That may not be far off as I am already yawny.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Fingers crossed, good luck.

Jim

crosses fingers, toes, eyes and ears for Sari’s house

I done basically nuttin’ today, and very nice it was too. I’m still all gunked uo with a cold, and I thought a rest would be a good plan. I did do some washing, as it was nice enough outside that I could actually dry it on the line, which is a first for the year (I had to bring it in in the evening still damp the time I tried), and planted seeds, but generally just took it easy.

It’s going to be a quiet week in the house- one housemate’s just gone off on holiday, and the incompetent housemate has actually moved out! Well… ok… mostly he’s just moved stuff downstairs into the corridor, but the room is empty, and he’s officially gorn.

I’m not sure whether I’m swapping rooms or not- I did a quick check, and discovered the mold problem is just as bad in that room. There’s a shared chimney, which was leaking (though supposedly the leak has been fixed) into both rooms. He just never mentioned the problem, so we assumed it was OK in there. I’m not 100% sure I’ll be able to fit all my furniture in there either, as it’s got a big built in wardrobe- though it would mean more light for plants and a cat-resistant window, which I really would like. I sleep with the window open normally, and that means risking a cat jumping through onto my face as it is. It also wouldn’t be as hot, not having the boiler in, which is a plus for me.

On balance, that room would probably be better, but it means moving the axolotl tank, as well as the rest of my worldly possessions, and I don’t wanna. Luckily, I don’t have to rush to decide, as there’s no-one lined up to move in, and the landlord said he’s going to try and make sure the mold problem is fixed before he really starts looking.

Thank you Jim and Swampy and Nuts
I am not getting my hopes up.
