We did chickie salad and assorted raw veggies - very healthy! Ice cream later.

I met a few folks at the bar across from irk to say goodbye to one of the supes who is leaving us and hoist one with my own boss who will be retiring as of the tenth. I’m going to miss him.

Or else it was using Apple maps.

DigiBeta is a digital Betatape based recording system, probably 15-20 years old. If that’s what was stolen they stole utter crap.
No I spent the early part of my day at the Navy Yard; later at DC Superior Court. Glad to be home.
I have GOT to start getting more sleep. Last night, Mel decided I needed some bad dreams, and not long after DH came to bed (thus, I felt lots better, since I had my teddy bear), the smoke alarm and the CO detector commenced random beeps. DH took care of talking to the management office about replacing them while I was irking, getting one combo unit in exchange. I can deal, especially since I now have a nicely located outlet freed up. 
As long as the remaining alarm and detector (the apartment came with two smoke alarms and one CO detector, we supplied a CO detector of our own) hush tonight, I can deal.
Dinner tonight will be Salisbury steak courtesy of the nice people at Banquet, with some rice for the gravy. I’m not really hungry, but probably won’t sleep decently if I don’t eat.
The foot is still not totally healed, but progress is being made.
That wouldn’t be as patriotic, but I could do that for the next one. Hmmm, on top or mixed in?

I go to cross the street at lunch today, in the middle of a city. There is an SUV parked across the street near the corner; on the rear roof is a…hawk! (It flew off before I could get my camera/phone out, though)
When I get back to irk, one cow-orker is sitting in the conf room with his shoes off; wouldn’t have been a big deal if he was wearing socks. :eek:

From reading the article, I gather they didn’t want a crime scene filmed.
I pick up dog food, and [del]pored lava and boiling oil[/del]bathed Gordie today. I gave him two cookies afterwards for [del]being brave[/del]being a total weenie. I had Asian BBQ chciken with lemongrass thyme rice, and asian salad with wasabi seasme dressing.
I cook, I clean, I love small weird animals.

I resort to bribery to get Allie (my cat, aka the Princess) to cooperate with claw trimming. She gets some Friskies Party Mix after a trim. Last time I did her nails (yesterday), she gave me only token fuss, then rushed to her dish as soon as I released her.
Now that the tornado has passed…
I had to go downstairs and hang out with the neighbors for about 45 minutes while a bad storm slash tornado made a path about a mile from here.

BLURF. Made it through the day with a hang on. Actually had a good day as we were crazy busy and we decorated the building for the fourth. Spent 106 at the dollar store on American flags, bunting etc all made in China. Does not compute.
I am irking half day tomorrow with premium pay. At least double maybe more and irking on Sat with premium pay. Love the extra dough.
I used to manage the Vet Clinic on base before it was shut down by the Army for lack of funds but am still in touch with the Army/DOD vet. I faxed her the pathology report and she offered to do more surgery for cheap in Tampa. Of course she had not seen the report at that time. I am extremely sad but must soldier on cause LOUIE is very attuned to my moods. Any prayers, good thoughts are appreciated. He really is a very special little dog. I texted my boss that I intend to take him to work everyday as long as he is able and wants to go. He always wants to go. Boss said OK. No problem bring him. He is that good and never barks.

Spidey Everyone gets to see my toes. Thanks to my cast, they hang out and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Went into the office today for the first since the snap, crackle, pop. I had a presentation to the big boss. After a really rocky start, it went very well. I don’t think I’m quite up to a daily commute yet, but progress is being made.
