A Foot Cramp MMP

The slugabeds have arisen. They all got up and were stumblin’ around. I told 'em they look like rejects from the zombie apocalypse.

I just finished hauling and spreading 4 cartloads of mulch, plus yanking up some weeds before the mulch was dumped. I have put everything away and had a shower. And I just this second remembered that I didn’t close the side gate. Guess I’d better do that so Higgs can’t escape.

And I’ve closed the house - it’s not too hot, but boy howdy is it humid!! My clothes were soaked with sweat - there are few things less graceful than trying to peel off a sweaty t-shirt. Luckily, I didn’t have an audience - it wasn’t pretty…

Off to close the gate!

Wow! Two revolting things to celebrate on the same day. Are we lucky or what?

Doesn’t matter really; no matter what the day ----------- :stuck_out_tongue:

‘Tis thunderatin’. Thus we are back in da cave. It looks like whatever it is will go around us, but still one should not be in or near a big hole filled with water when one hears thunder.

irk today. Almost over. then home to do absolutely nothing I hope. I need to catch up on sleep.

happy 4th folks.

Lunch has been ingested. The dishwasher is loaded and the kitchen is sorta tidy. I just finished vacuuming up half a cat’s worth of hair.

Let Freedom Ring!!!

I was going to wish you a happy birthday, but I shall instead poke you six times.

Is it quit o’clock yet?

TWC says it’s 85 here right now, projected high 99. Clear and sunny all day.

Just stumbled out of bed (had some help from Nyquil). The Princess was amazingly patient about the delay in breakfast service. No known plans for today. The most solid item on the agenda is staying off the roads, especially come evening.

Tomorrow, the only set plan is deheathenating. Some shopping awaits on Monday (which I have off).

I know, more productive use could be made of a three-day weekend, but I don’t feel like it. Might feel a bit more productive Monday, we’ll see.

I was knitting and trying to find something on On Demand freebies to watch. I started with Bell, Book and Candle, but it was just too silly. Then I switched to The Manchurian Candidate, but it was way too dark. NCIS reruns are back to the first season - seen 'em way too many times.

**FCD **is taking a break, so I gave him the remote. Dunno what he’s watching. Don’t much care - I need to take a break from knitting - my hands are a bit achy.

I should start thinking about what to do for supper.

Stayed up all night at a concert. It was a good concert, but I’m tired today. Got up at 2 PM. Yikes. Hopefully my schedule will be a little more normal soon.

It is currently 84 degrees and climbing.

I’ve watered my hanging basket, sprayed weeds that like to grow in the partition cracks in the driveway, picked up dog poop, loaded the dishwasher, washed the pots and pans, wiped down the counters and am in the process of making some homemade vanilla ice cream. Just before it’s done churning, I’ll throw in some chopped up strawberries in there.

I thought about going out to weed, but I’m not feeling it. Early this evening, we’ll turn on the sprinklers and water the hell out of the grass again.

It’s a rainy 4th up here in the high country. I’m going to make a boxed Chef Boyardee pizza and watch MST3K. Just like old times.

I’m so sorry. You have my condolences. :frowning:

What kind of concert, Emily?

Just got back from a run to nearby Mexican place to obtain carne asada nachos. DH chose to go get tacos from a vendor he’s partial to. Nearly done with Good Eats catch-up, not sure what’s next besides silly Facebook games.

I’m making sketties for supper.

I just finished watching most of 1776 - John and Abigail’s song always makes me tear up, as does Momma, Look Sharp. That show (I saw it on stage long before I saw the movie) was an eye-opener for me. It was the first time I thought about our Founding Fathers as people, imperfect as any person, with families and prejudices and opinions and real lives, not just history book condensations. They were a bunch of guys trying to do something that had never been done before. And they were politicians. And they were in the right place at the right time to become part of history. Wow.

Howdy Y’all! After a stormy afternoon, the sun is peekin’ out. :dubious: That’s ok, when it quit with all the lightnin’ and thunder we all hung out on the back porch. A good time was had by all. The best part is the crowd is gone and we have da cave all to ourselves tonight. JDD did indeed imbibe today but Partner didn’t so they decided to head on home. I loves company. I loves it when company comes. I loves it when company is here. Most of all I loves it when company leaves.

We had a bit of a toad-soaker, but it’s tapering off and the sun is breaking thru in the west. Hope it stops soon - Higgs needs to pee!!

I’m gonna recline the night away. MWAH!

Had a lovely afternoon with the neighbors - grilled burgers, hotdogs, chickie thighs and laigs; fruit, cookies, cherry pie, cheesecake; soft drinks, vodka, Henessey. Very lovely afternoon. Oh, and good conversation, too.
