A Foot Cramp MMP

I ventured, as is my wont, to Kroger to buy dinner. Realizing that it was the Fourth of July, I fully expected to return with a bologna loaf, a hard roll, and some very old cheese. G-d bless Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) fellow slaves at the Dark Satanic Mill, they were restocking pork ribs by the shopping cart.

But I digress.

Struggling with a pair of pliers and the membrane on the bone side of the above ribs, I recalled a barbecue television program that Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) was watching, where the fellow reached down and peeled the membrane of with his fingers.
How do you suppose he accomplished that? Did he managed to previously remove it intact, and theatrically remove it a second time? Did he soak a paper towel in water and fake it?

A jazz festival concert, though the band played in a sort of mixture of different styles.

I’ve not done anything but sleep all day.

I should get up and do something, or at least irk for a bit.
I need to load the dishwasher, I never pile dishes in the sink but now I have a sinkful. I need to vacuum but I think that is a job for Sah-son. I also need to do some laundry. He’s going to have to move the washer to the sink for me.

In general I need to get up off my ass and start getting stuff done around here.

flytrap first off, I do not remove the membrane. This is mostly due to laziness. However, if one wants to remove the membrane the alleged way to do it is to slip a knife under a part of the membrane to loosen it and then allegedly peel the membrane off. Of course we all know that IRL nuttin’ is that easy so you may have to loosen the membrane two or three times durin’ the removal process. I say that is way too much trouble. See lazy comment above.

The parade is over. It wasn’t nearly as good as in years past, but I did share my squirt gun armory with the cute little boys parked next to me. It looks like I made it under a roof just in time. The sky just let loose again.

Cool.

Party was fun, glad its over and I’m home before the serious silliness of actual fireworks traffic and home-display-experts-needing-medical-intervention traffic begins

Da bear is tahrd. Time for beauty rest. Nitey Nite Y’all!

Slow at work, but that’s over Lots of fireworks, I drove throw a cloud of smoke on the way home.

Happy Birthday Flytrap!!!

I am still recovering from two days of activities. We shall be skipping the sky lights. Hiding inside with the dogs. Although maybe the kids will run outside at the last minute and see what they can see.

I have no idea WHY a stoopid broken ankle is so exhausting, but doing anything makes me worn to a frazzle. As Rosie says, it uses my all my spoons. Sigh.

Today, in honor of the Fourth, we are grilling. OK - I lie. It’s just in honor of the weekend.

We saw Inside Out. i didn’t get it, I guess. Just didn’t click with me. I liked the bit at the end that explained cat brains though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Fourth everyone.

Currently binge-watching “The Twilight Zone” (original) via Netflix.

Roaming the web. Our local amusement park, that had a small sorta-called-a-riot for opening day, had a small shooting today. It seems to have been outside the park but within touching distance of the fence. Of course, hit the basic social media sites and everyone has decided to go right to PANIC!!!

Kennywood isn’t my favorite park by a long shot. And DuQuesne isn’t the safest place in the world - but rarely do I grab a couple extra speedloaders heading through there like I do some other places. But this place, the park and the whole area, are popping up too often with respect to basically meaningless violence. Someone needs to look at doing something – be it economic, police, spiritual I don’t care. But just accepting “its only going to get worse” is really starting to make me angry.

Maybe thats what it needs - more reasonable people getting angry. Who knows?

Up too early for Sunday, but I should go with it. Tomorrow, **FCD **heads back to work, so I’ll be up at this hour anyway. Higgs has been fed and Taz has had a drink at the sink. I’ll just surf and stuff till my sweetie hits the shower.

We’re going to breakfast this morning, then he wants me to help do a continuity-check on his bike’s new wire harness. So I probably won’t be working in the yard today. Plus it’s raining, which further puts gardening in doubt. I might get to mulch tomorrow, and Tuesday looks like the next clear day so’s I can hang out some laundry. First part of the week is planned, then.

All righty, then. Happy Sunday!

Up, caffeinated, off to work. Today is my Firday.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of ONLY 84 for the day and, of course, rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. We shall see.

I am a Lector (the readin’ kind as opposed to the cannibal kind) this mornin’. Today is also brunch Sunday but we’re not dealin’ with that as we’ve decided we’re pretty much feasted out. So we’ll be back at da cave after deheathenization to graze and lounge about. I shall turn any leftover smoked chikin into chikin sallit at some point today I reckon.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. At some point, purtification for deheathenization must occur.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Stoopit cat. See y’all in a few hours.

Showered, dressed, and about to go to breakfast. We’ll see if the caffeine helps…

New server at the cafe - she wasn’t very good. In fact, she seemed more interested in standing around chatting than with checking back on us. I miss Lisa - I guess she had today off. Oh well…

I just finished helping my sweetie check continuity on the “dashboard” of his bike - it’s all good. I cleaned the cat box (ick) and I refilled the critters’ water bottle. I also took pics of all the wiring and stuff **FCD **did - he wants a record of everything.

While disassembling his bike, he came across a bundle of 3 wires that was just tucked up away, unconnected to anything. I’m guessing it’s either spares, or it goes to some accessory that wasn’t installed on his bike. Anyway, I’m getting ready to upload the pics to his bike album. Then I might nap… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The goal for today is to finish up a bunch of miscellaneous things around the house.

The other goal is to finish up the strawberries I got Friday because they’re *already *going bad. Last time I buy strawberries at Sav-Mor.

In advice column news, I’m afraid my beloved Ms. Amy Dickenson has been taken for a ride with a fake letter. :frowning:

Happy Sunday!

It’s nice and cool outside, windows are still open.

I’m recovering. I still have big bruises on my belly. I still have trouble eating. I get so hungry but the sight of food makes me ill. I force myself to take a few bites though, I know I’ll feel even worse if I don’t eat.
I’m sleeping a lot too. At least now I am really sleeping, up until recently I was lucky if I slept more than an hour and a half at a time. Usually I’d doze for 10-20 minutes and wake up. I was so sleepy I’d be shaking but still couldn’t sleep.
The doctors said it could take up to two weeks for all the anesthesia to get out of my system, throw in the dilaudid and oxycodone and it’s no wonder I am all out of whack. I stopped all pain meds last Friday, I had to stop them before I could drive and I never went back. I was starting to like the oxycodone just a bit too much, I think.
