Emily, do y’all have parades and fireworks like we do to celebrate?
{{{butters and Louie}}}
It looks like I’ll be at the Old Time Fiddler’s Jamboree Friday, then Saturday, my SIL and I will attend the squirt gun parade. Today, I’m just mopping up the stuff that had to go on hold to get all of the month end crap out.
The crayons came out OK, but not great. I need to use fewer colors in each and more crayons in each. Now, just to wait for WalMart to have their big back-to-school sale so I can stock up on cheap crayolas. If I thought I would sell a ton, I’d get the 800 pack from Office Depot. But I don’t need to be stuck with hundreds of crayons.
Just got up about 20 minutes ago. Current temp is about 90, averaging several different sources. Projected high about 105, with Accuweather calling a thunderstorm for this afternoon (Weather Channel disagrees).
Aside from running a load of laundry, I have no plans for today that I know of.
An executive decision has been made. OYKW has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for Mexican comestibles. Thus we shall go have an early dindin at the Mexican place we like a lot. N.O.L. and Dindin out. A bear could get use to this!
Our executive decision involves ordering pizza! We get a free one because we’ve ordered from them so much. If you have 5 coupons worth $10 or more, you get a free 2-topping large. So I’ll be calling soon to order.
Pizza was good. It arrived way sooner than expected so we ate sooner than we intended. Sometimes delivery takes over an hour. Today, it was about 40 minutes! If we were starving, we’d still be waiting…
The mayor is tweeting about how sad he is that a particular hockey player is leaving the local hockey team. I’m tempted to reply to the tweet and ask him if he’s as sad about that as I was when he cut service on my bus line and I got fewer buses, but it goes against my policy of never saying anything mean to anyone on Twitter.
Yeah, today is the day you politely asked Great Britain if it were OK if you ruled yourselves for a while.
I had to take my civil service promotions tests today. One wasn’t horrible but the other involved a lot of math. I mean a LOT of math like “An inmate was sentenced to ten years. He served four years, two months, and 16 days before he assaulted a guard. He had two years, seven months, and 23 days added to his sentence. How much time does he have left to serve?” I shit y’all not.
Tonight, I am enjoying some great barbecue with the sprog. Meat coma to ensue.
Robyn - that has to be one of the stupidest questions they could have chosen! And that’s the kind of question that we have computers to answer. Ah, gummint jobs…
I think I’ll don my robe and slippers and veg the night away. MWAH!!
